I have over 400 Photos on my "Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2" and can not remember if I ever got an unlock code and if I did I have lost it?? So now I have no access to my Photo's many of my wife who passed away this past March. Can ANYONE HELP ME!!!

Your photos are safe, and are present in the folder on your computer that you specified when importing them. If you used Photoshop Album Starter Edition to import your files from the camera without changing the default folder, look in this folder:

Windows Vista®/7: C:\Users\[User Name]\Pictures\Adobe\Digital Camera Photos

Keystrokes for Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0

I'm looking at my photos in the organize view and can see thumbnails. I want to rotate the pictures by using CTRL+R for Rotate right but nothing happens with the selected picture. I have to go to the Edit menu and then do it. Can I assign a keystroke for this single action?

Hi Colin,
Yes, I'm doing that. I only have one Enter type key (which I guess equates to return), I don't have a number pad. Perhaps I'll see what IBM think is the Enter key and see if that works.

Two days ago I introduced photos of my baby into my PC and automatically went into the programm Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2. Then they were deleted of my photo camera. Then I wanted to access to the photos in the Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2 but I read that since the end of Juny we need a decodification code and that now it is not availabel. Hi, I am new to this, being a great grandmother sometimes I am a bit slow. I have made a slideshow in the Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 and it works good. I had problems trying to figure out how to get it done step by step. I do not have a manual for it as I bought this Hard drive from another person. Does anyone know how I can print up the instructions either from the program ( which I didn't see anywhere ) or if I can get it off the internet?? Help on this would be appreciated.

Do you have the receipt? If you have proof of ownership, you _may_ be able to persuade Customer Support to help you out. I imagine you would need to scan and email that proof if it works at all.

Unlocked, Registered and Working (Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition v3.0)

Following several threads in this user-to-user forum, I lodged a bug report with Adobe and to my amazement, was promptly helped out of the sticky situation of not being able to connect to the internet/register Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition v3.0. After providing all my details and Windows version etc, Adobe came back with an unlock code matched to my email address and ... razzamatazz...problem cured. Moral is simple: lodge a bug report providing all information then and subsequently to Adobe, and sit back.

The same thing happens to me, I've gotten the code and the "unlock now" button won't work. I've tried cut and paste and manually entering. I've tried registering again, and I've deleted the entire program and started over, still can't get the "UNLOCK NOW" to highlight for unlocking. Can't get code to "Enter", what am I doing wrong?

My photos were automatically downloaded to the above mentioned sight and although I can see the photo's stored a registration message pops up and I am not able to access them, the photo's were also automatically deleted from my camera. It is a common misconception that Starter Edition 'stores', or copies, your files into it. But the program does not move or copy files at all, rather it scans your system's My Pictures directory, and generates miniature versions of your pictures (called thumbnails) so that you can browse a 'flat' list of thumbnails of your photos, overcoming the inconvenience of having to go into separate folders in Windows Explorer to have to find files.The thumbnails, as well as any tags, and Albums that you create in Starter Edition are all stored in the Photoshop Album catalog file, separate from your pictures, and your pictures remain where you originally copied them to your computer.
If you use Photoshop Album to subsequently download files from a digital camera or scanner, the default location where the program will create those files would be in the My Pictures>Digital Camera Photos folder. But if you do NOT use Photoshop Album Starter edition to download files from your camera, then you will find that folder empty.
The thumbnails in the Starter Edition catalog will exist, even if you decide to move or delete the original photos that were added to the program. This will cause files in the Photoshop Album catalog to become 'disconnected' from the original photos. To reconnect the files, you can use the File>Reconnect Missing files command to see if the program can locate the original files in a new location, and once again re-link the catalog thumbnails to the files they once referenced.
Since Photoshop Album has been discontinued, I recommend that folks find an alternative solution. One alternative that will preserve most of what you've created in Starter Edition is the Photoshop Elements 8 trial. Install that, and it will automatically convert the Photoshop Album catalog to a current format, and the program will not time out, as Starter Edition did. If you want to purchase more Editing power, you can also choose to purchase the full program, but it's not required.
If you are like many who have come to this forum wondering how you can get to your photos, now that the program has become locked or expired, don't worry; your photos have never been moved by Photoshop Album; they remain wherever you intially put them, on your hard drive. To get to them, you can navigate your file system using Windows Explorer. They are typically in your My Documents>My Pictures folder. AOL 10 as default email client
Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2, registered and unlocked.
When setting pref for email client within Adobe PSE, AOL is not listed as an email option. I have reinstalled Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2, and unlocked, reinstalled AOL 10 (desktop) and reset it as the default email client. The default is working, as mailto: links in browsers open up AOL Desktop, and the email app listed at the top of the <START> button is AOL. How can I set it as an email client in Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2? Is there some registry hack? Interference with another app?

Re 3.2 Photoshop. After I had some repair done to my computer, the photos in my album have the restricted little red square at the bottom of each photo. When I try to open the photo to fix or print a message box comes on that nothing can be done because of overide problem. In fact it closes the photoshop immediately because of this error. Is there anything I can do? - if I search the Browse button I get absolutely no connection or a march. This is most frustrating. I tried calling tech assistance, they could not help me infact hung up on me. What sort of helpfull assistance is that? Should there be any helpfull suggestions, other than uninstalling (Have done that) and reinstalling (done that) nothing seems to work. I cannot even copy those photos to a disk, the photoshop closes down immediately. Help. Donna

Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition vs. Picasa?

Hi everyone..
I have just installed Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 and I'm wondering about a few things. Bear with me here...
1. I use Piccasa strictly as a picture-viewer program. I'm not 100% happy with it, could anybody pursuade me and my curious friend, why I should switch to Album Starter? I would like that.
2. What I DO like about Piccasa is that it just view my pictures and do not copy them into a special piccasa-format. I have several file-formats in my picture-folder and I would like Album Starter to view all of them without changing the original location of the file, nor copy it, taking up a lot of disk-space.
3. Another thing I like about Picasa is that if I have changed, added or removed a picture in the original file-location it updates those changes when I launch the program.
4. I understand that there are several ways to view your photos. But can you also view and navigate your pictures through folders while you are in Album Starter? Because thats one thing I hate about Picasa, it just place all my folders on the side of the page, meaning it takes them out of their original folder and destroys the dept-folder-system I have made.
5. Does Album Starter have a nice search function?
If anyone could take the time to answer these very bad formulated questions, I would be very grateful.

1) PSA SE has better organizing tools [tags/collections] than Picassa. There is also a clear growth path if you want something more powerful [Photoshop Elements Organizer is compatible].
2) With PSA SE you keep your image files anywhere you want.
3) PSA SE has limitations in this area. You are encouraged to move files about from within the program.
4) I'm not sure that you'd prefer PSA SE in this respect. You are really encouraged not to think in terms of folders, as that is not a way to organize a large collection of images [say much more than 100].
5) It has various ways to search - what are you after? Using tagging intelligently means you very rarely need to search. [I have use this technology for 3 years and only used Search a handful of time.]
