I have lost pictures in iPhoto, but I can see them in the data folder, except they are only thumbnail size. They will not open at regular size and are showing unreadable in the "originals" folder. I've rebuilt and nothing is restoring these pics.

I have lost pictures in my iPhoto. We moved my iPhoto to a external hard drive and I believe since then, I have random pics missing. Some pics will show up in the "photos" and some show with a title and a blank picture. When I click on "package contents" in iPhoto, I have found the "Originals" folder where all the pics are pulling from and the file is there but won't open. However, in the DataXML folder under package contents, I can open the file but it is much smaller (supposed to be 1 MG, but showing in the data folder as 63kb). How can I get these pics restored in the Originals folder? I've rebuilt the library several times and I just ran the iPhoto Library Manager and it won't pull from the data file. Help!!

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

You can download your documents from icloud.com and go to the Pages app. From there, select the document and click on the settings icon that looks like a gear and you will have an option to download your document with a few different options like Pages and Microsoft Word. Have you upgraded to iPhoto 9.6 for compatibility with Yosemite? If not, try that first.
It looks like iPhoto has lost the connection between the thumbnails and the original image files.
This can be caused by a corrupted iPhoto library, or the originals have been deleted or moved.
Try first to rebuild your iPhoto Library:
If you do not have a current backup of the iPhoto library, make a copy of the library, but do not overwrite any previous backup.
Launch iPhoto with the ⌥⌘-key combination (option-command) held down.
Select "rebuild" from the first aid panel. This may take a while for a large library.
Can you now see your photos again?
If not, rebuild the library with iPhoto Library manager as described by Old Toad: Re: iphoto crashed

Only one epub file will not open in ADE or on my Nook. The others I downloaded will open on both and will copy to the Nook as usual.

It still has 9 days remaining in the borrowing period.

Firefox will not open. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and the setup wizard didnt come up. Also Firefox still will not open.

my firefox was working fine till about 5 days ago and when i tried to open it up it would not. No matter how many times i clicked it. It would never open. I then proceeded to uninstall the program and then i redownloded it. I never got the set up wizard to pop up to finish. I have now tried to redownlod it again and still no change. I just bought an apple tv and am trying to learn how to upload vidoes to itunes so i can see them on my apple tv. I have addes 3 file and can see them on my apple tv, however I can only see one of them in the itunes library? I can see all three files in users/music/itunesmedia/homevideos.
Any tips would really help understanding this

I opened up a kingston memory stick last week on my computer and it worked fine. This the memory stick will not open in my computer. How do I find the memory stick if the icon does not come up on my desktop screen?

You might try the obvious, although I have seen memory sticks fail. Good luck.
1)Remove the memory stick
2) Shut the computer down
3) Restart the computer
4) Login
5) Re-insert the memory stick

I right click on link, click, open in new window, then nothing happens. Or, windows within a page will not open, for example, on gmail, when I click "details" the window will not open.

When I right click on a hot link, then click, open in a new window, a window will not open. Alternatively, I can click, open in a new tab, and a new tab will open. Additionally, if I'm at a website with a chat feature, the chat window will not open, or, as another example, if I'm at gmail, and I click "details", the window that opens giving the summary of when your account has been opened and the IP addresses it's been accessed from, will not open.
I have on the computer, Aurora too. I doubt that it's a source of the problem, but I had to throw that into the mix. For clarification, this problem is happening while using the Firefox browser.

You can middle-click a link to open the link in a new tab.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I have four books downloaded to my I pod nano touch, when connected to my desk top computer, I can see them... when using my i pod, I have no audio book icon (even though in setting it is marked "ON") and I have never been able to access them...HELP please.

From the Home screen, swipe to the left to scroll through other icons/apps and look for audiobooks. Can you not find it in that list of apps?
