I have lost the document and cannot find it anywhere.

I have been working on a lengthy document all evening in Pages.
I went to highlight it all (cmd A) to regularise the font etc, and I think I hit Alt just afterwards and the document has disappeared. I cannot find it anywhere, not in trash, documents or finder.
Please, has anyone any ideas where it may be and how I can find it?

Menu is the bar of pull down menus at the top of your screen.
"Window" is the 3rd from the right.
Open documents are listed at the bottom of the Window menu.
Select any you want to come to the fore.
It has occurred to me that you may have hit a key combination with all the text selected, so the text got replaced with nothing and that is what you are talking about.
Menu > Edit > Undo as many times as makes your material come back.

At times when I am on a website, the cursor freezes and i have to shutdown and restart the processor efore I can proceed. Also, I have lost the toolbar and address line across the top of my desktop.

This occurs at least 4 or 5 times a day. I can do nothing when this happens. I don't know if this is a Firefox or Vista problem. I click on a link and it does not go but just sits there saying connecting.

Got iPod back from battery replacement in July. Exclamation point error, and iPod now not recognized. The 5Rs--cute, easy to follow. Downloaded the 6-28-06 software. All very simple. But iPod Updater won't run. And iPod still not recognized. What could I do to fix my problem?

Thank you Paul, all good now managed to get hold of someone at apple who sorted it out for me. I had switched it off at the wall when it was on by mistake.
Tried to follow procedure in Dummies book but wasn't doing it quick enough!!

Firefox 3.6+ versions have a feature to allow the user to hide the Menu bar.
Hit the '''Alt''' key to temporarily show the Menu bar, then open View > Toolbars and select Menu bar, so it has a check-mark. <br />
The F10 can also be used on most PC's to temporarily reveal the Menu bar.

Of course it changed. A phone's IMEI number is unique to each phone. The IMEI number for a phone does not transfer to another phone.
Since your iPhone was exchanged under warranty without having the box and bill for the original purchase, you don't need it now either. The exchange under warranty remains under the warranty for the original purchase.

You may be able to find your serial number a few clicks beyond Manage Account at http://www.adobe.com/ at least if you purchased from Adobe or registered your purchase with them.
As far as losing the disc, that is not a problem because LR updates are available for download, and you would want to get the most recent one for whichever version you purchased (i.e. LR 5.7.1 for LR 5) and then you can just enter your serial number:

If you have had Time Machine running on your computer, you may be able to get it back from a backup.
However, since System Preferences contains more than just the application (it also contains modules that are kept in [$HOME]/Library/PreferencePanes on your startup disk), then you may need to restore them too if they do not exist on your system either.
Granted, having a missing System Preferences could be disasterous... at the least, you can't set your preferences, but at the most, system services (whether Apple or 3rd party) could be broken. Because of this, the above advice is not guaranteed.
The only sure-fire way of getting your System Preferences back is to re-install your system.
Important note: TheDave413's note about the Dock is also a very useful tip, since the Dock keeps an alias of the System Preferences app rather than a copy of it. If that is all that's missing, you can easily re-create it yourself without any of the above drastic action!

A number of users have encountered this problem, for existing users the problem has largely been resolved by restarting the Apple TV. However since you are a new user it would be wise to check that your settings are correct to begin with. Ensure the router allows access over port 123 (TCP) and that you are using the DNS settings provided by the ISP and not your own.

Assuming you mean the personal name associated with the account, as opposed to the login (which you can change if it's not an @icloud.com. @me.com or @mac.com address) you can change this at http://appleid.appla.com . Click on 'Manage your account' and then on 'Edit' next to 'Your name' and the name currently associated with the ID.

That is correct, you do not need to give them any disk. They can download the iPod Updater (something they might not already have) and iTunes (might already have it), both more recent versions than came with the iPod, from iTunes.com.
