I have lost the "New Tab" plus sign on the Tab Bar on Windows XP

When I updated to Firefox 4.0.1 on my XP system, the "plus sign" mini tab that used to be appended to the last open tab suddenly disappeared. I can obviously use the New Tab option on the Menu Bar, but I prefer the convenience of the plus sign.

No, it's not an option on the customize window. This is the plus sign that appears like a partial tab to the right of the last open tab. I did discover a "work around" - if I double click anywhere parallel and to the right of the last open tab, it will open a new tab! I still miss that that plus sign, though.

I had an orange tab on the upper left of my screen that I clicked and could get my awesome bar, bookmarks, cut, paste, print buttons and google. They have all disappeared and I cannot go back, there is no back button, nothing. I upgraded just now to Firefox 5 but it made no difference: the orange tab had gone. Click view, toolbars and uncheck menu bar. The menu bar will disappear and the orange tab will appear. If you want the menu bar back, click the orange firefox tab, go to options and check the menu bar and it will reappear.

I have lost the task bar/start menu, how do I get them back? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling without success, the other user on my computer does not have this problem.

Yesterday, I went to the site for levno computers, using my web access for my work email. I opened the page to view the outlet items and was never able to get back out of it. Finally used ctrl,alt,delete and ended the task. If you're talking about the menu bar, press ALT or F10 in your keyboard to make the Menu Bar temporarily visible. If you want it to be permanently visible, go into ''View > Toolbars > Menu Bar'', or right-click the Navigation Toolbar (the Reload button, for example) and select ''Menu Bar''.
If this doesn't help, right-click the navigation toolbar, select ''Customize...'' and click ''Restore Default Set''. If it doesn't appear right away, try pressing ALT or F10. You can go into ''View > Toolbars > Menu Bar'' to make it permanently visible, or right-click the Navigation Toolbar and select ''Menu Bar''.
If none of this helps, you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Try disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal.

I have lost the volume to my "windows" partition on my Mac

Although i have got volume on my apple side of the boot camp , when i close it and go to my windows 7 , i have no volume??. I have all the relevant lights and equaliser bands showing me that it is working but what ever i do i cannot get any volume?? i have even gone to the control panel on the windows system to try and suss it out but to no avail.

2. Volume buttons
3. Settings, which are changeable by volume buttons as well.

In Firefox 3.6 on Windows you can hide the menu bar via "View > Toolbars" or via the right click context menu on a toolbar.
Press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the menu bar.
Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the menu bar or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide.

After installing Mavericks I had problems copying to the server. Was advised to remove the com.apple.finder.plist from Preferences. This worked - but now I have lost the menu bar from my second screen! How do I get that back?

I have tried re-inserting the com.apple.finder.plist into my Preferences folder and re-booting - this didn't work.

First, that cannot be an iBook G4 as that machine cannot run Snow Leopard let alone Mountain Lion. To run Snow Leopard it has to be an Intel processor, not a G4. What does it show as the Model Identifier in About This Mac, More Info, System Report, Hardware, Model Identifier?
Second, if you have erased the hard drive there should not be remnants of any prior content. Even though Disk Warrior is saying nothing is wrong with the hard drive, it sounds as though there are problems. You may want to consider simply replacing the hard drive so there are no questions about faults. A good source is OWC, http://www.macsales.com where they also have on-line videos showing how to do the replacement.
Third, you could also try again to restart using the Snow Leopard DVD/CD and use Disk Utility on that install disk to erase again, and do it a couple times, then try to install. If it continues to refuse, then it sounds as though there is a fault with the hard drive.

The Bank say it is not a problem with their website but with the Browser. There is no way to access the bottom of the page so you can't pay bill online because you can't access the Pay button.

My computer opens to Babylon search instead of Mozilla/Google and I have lost the tool bar at the top of the screen....favorites, file, etc.

I downloaded a program to convert currency called Babylon. Asked if I wanted it to be my search engine and I said no. After using the program I decided to uninstall. Now when I open Mozilla Firefox, it opens to a Babylon search page and my tool bar at the very top of the screen where I click on File, Tools, Favorites is gone. What can I do?

To get the Menu bar I followed the excellent advice - I had to press the Alt key and V to get the chance to pick toolbars from the drop down menu. I just right-clicked on the blank page and hit Alt-V.

Strangely enough, putting my laptop into Hibernate mode solved the problem. It didn't even take a reboot.

Suddenly, I have lost the email toolbar for emails that I "reply" to. The toolbar for new message is still there. What happened and how do I get it back?

I have not updated operating system or anything, I just suddenly lost the tool bar on emails when I reply or forward an email. This means I have no send or forward etc buttons. I have to go into the pulldown menu for commands. When I create a new message, no problem. It won't let me right click on the top of the email to try and add anything. What's happening here?
