Choose Utilities from the Finder’s Go menu, open the Disk Utility, create two or three additional partitions(see below), and install or clone a different Mac OS X version to each.
Unless you previously downloaded Mavericks 10.9, it’s no longer available.

I am having a serious problem with someone who is hacking all of my Facebook account and the person has threated an is stating that they have hacked my iPod touch 8g as well as have images from my FaceTime. Ringtones (and audiobooks) are currently a one-time only download. If you still have it on your iPod then you should be able to copy it over to the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11) and you can then sync it to your iPhone

Hi there, I have MacBook Air (Mid 2012) with OSX 10.8.2. I want to update to latest OSX but it is saying that I need to first install MBA Flash Firmware Update 1.1. When I try to install this firmware, I am told I should have OSX 10.8.3, Each one asking other to update first, can some one help me in this regard ?
If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main screen.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later. -
I bought PhotoShop 12.0 for Windows 8. I cannot find the Curves function in the program. Is Curves excluded from this version? If so, how can I upgrade to get Curves? Thank you!

You can acces it from the menu 'Filters', there is a line called 'Easy.Filter', click it and it shows 'Smartcurve'.

I know that you don't need the CC 'rental' subscription to have Photoshop, but as far as I know, there is no upgrade path from Elements except periodical special offers. -
I had an app previously, but now it shows I do not. How can I retrieve this, since I've already paid for it? I have 2 photos- one showing it in my cloud- and two the app itself. Please help

Are you sure you don't have to press ⌥-G (Option-G) to get @?
Anyway, sounds like a keyboard/keyboard layout mismatch.
Go to System Preferences > Language & Text > Input Sources. From "Select input methods to use" enable (check) the following
Keyboard & Character Viewer
U.S.
Spanish
Spanish - ISO
Also enable "Show Input menu in menu bar".
The Input menu should appear to the right of your menu bar, with the icon of a national flag. From this menu, choose "Show Keyboard Viewer". Then compare the layout displayed by Keyboard Viewer with the label on your MBP's keyboard. If it doesn't match, choose a different layout from the Input menu.
My suspicion is that you're using a US keyboard with a Spanish keyboard layout, hence the difference you noted. -
I bought my iPhone 5 almost an year ago and since the last 2 weeks my battery lasts about 2 hours or less, while before it lastre a whole day. Can anybody tell me why is this happening or how can i solve my problem, please? Thank you.
You can follow these steps to save battery.
1. Turn on Auto-Brightness - The iPhone has an ambient light sensor that adjusts the brightness of the screen based on the light around it (darker in dark places, brighter when there's more ambient light) to both save battery and make it easier to see. Turn Auto-Brightness on and you’ll save battery because your screen will need to use less power in dark places.
Find it in the Settings app -> Brightness & Wallpaper -> Auto-Brightness On
2. Reduce Screen Brightness -the brighter the default setting for the screen, the more battery it requires. Keep the screen dimmer to conserve more of your battery.
Find it in Settings -> Brightness & Wallpaper
3. Stop Motion (iOS 7) -It's really cool, but it also drains battery. You may want to leave it on to enjoy the effect, but if not, turn it off this way:
Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Reduce Motion -> move slider to green/on
4. Turn Bluetooth Off- Turn off Bluetooth except when you’re using it to squeeze more juice from your battery.
Find it in Settings -> Bluetooth -> Move Slider to Off
5. Turn Off Location Services -
This allows your phone to know where you are and give you exact driving directions, give that information to apps that help you find restaurants, and more. But, like any service that sends data over a network, it needs battery power to work. If you’re not using Location Services, and don’t plan to right away, turn them off and save some power.
Find it in Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services -> Slide to Off
6. Don't Automatically Update Apps (iOS 7)-
If you've got iOS 7, you can forget needing to update your apps by hand. There's now a feature that automatically updates them for you when new versions are released. Convenient, but also a drain on your battery. To only update apps when you want to, and thus manage your battery better:
Settings -> iTunes & App Store -> Updates -> move slider to off/white
7. Auto-Lock Sooner -
You can set your iPhone to automatically go to sleep – a feature known as Auto-Lock - after a certain amount of time. The sooner it sleeps, the less power is used to run the screen or other services. Try setting Auto-Lock to 1 or 2 minutes.
Find it in Settings -> General -> Auto-Lock -> Tap your Preference
Few more things that would consume battery even when not is use are the applications that run in background.
Follow the below steps to quit all running applications.
1) Double tap on the home button on the iPhone ( this will display all apps that are running in the back ground).
2) Just click on the tiny red X to quit application ( if iPhone is running on iOS 6 and below) else just swipe yhour finger over the running app upwards to quit ( if running on iOS7). -

Whilst it is a fairly safe bet that your Mac has NOT been infected by a virus, it may have another security-related problem, but more likely a technical problem unrelated to any malware threat.

Your battery has reached the end of its life. If you have a MacBook with the removable battery you can get a new third party battery fairly cheap on eBay.

When I copy/paste a paragraph from a PDF doc (onto Facebook status bar, for example) it pastes with no spaces between words. I.e: "The manhadajugofcoolwaterand offeredmeadrink." How can I fix this? I can't speak about this occurring with FaceBook since I don't use FaceBook, but I see the same type of thing when I copy and pasted from websites. It doesn't always happen and I cannot find any particular set of circumstances under which it occurs or does not occur.
I am merely responding to let you know that it happens to me as well and I have seen no way to correct it. I'm not so sure that there is a way to correct in in that it may have something to do with how the original text is formatted in the PDF or on the website and how it eventually "fits" into the text field or the area in which it is pasted. -
Just restored my iPhone 5 from iCloud. My wife and I have always shared one iCloud ID. But since my restore, when a call comes in, it rings on both my phone and hers. How can I make this stop? We had it all set up fine before the restore, and there was a trick to it in the settings. I've noticed that since my restore, her phone has picked up what looks like the symbol of a phone in the upper right corner of the display, right next to the Bluetooth symbol.

It sounds like your iPhones may be using a new feature in iOS 8 called Continuity. The following article and information explains how to set up this feature for phone calls. You can review the information on the setup to reverse this effect. My suggestion would be to turn off FaceTime on one of the devices.

Phone calls
With Continuity, you can make and receive cellular phone calls from your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac when your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi network.
To make and receive phone calls, here's what you need:
Sign in to the same iCloud account on all your devices, including your Mac.
Your iPhone and your iPad or iPod touch need to use iOS 8 or later. Your Mac needs to use OS X Yosemite.
All devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
All devices must be signed in to FaceTime using the same iCloud account. This means any device that shares your Apple ID will get your phone calls. Look below for instructions on how to turn off iPhone cellular calls.
Wi-Fi Calling needs to be off. Go to Settings > Phone. If you see Wi-Fi Calling, turn it off.
