If it was indeed purchased with a different apple ID then there is no work around for what you want! You can try signing in with your daughter's apple ID and password and update the app and purchase whatever you want then log back in with your apple ID. This may work!

Reset the device, restart the device, try downloading any other app.

if I remember correctly the error code -1 indicates a hardware problem. In that case, you should take your iPhone to an Apple store and have them do some diagnostics.

I downloaded Restraunt Story, for my iPhone, and I ran out of Gems, I went to buy some, but my card I put on there don't have any money on it. So I clicked pay now, and it SHOULD give you another paying option, and it didn't, it went straight to my Prepaid Visa Card. Didn't send me an email, or say "Theres no money on your account.. I am now stuck with 2.14$ as a total, I cannot download nothing else from my itunes account until I get this handled.
