I have more than 160 gb of content!

This sounds silly to me and will to you also. I have more than 160 gb of media. Does ATV have some sort of preferential treatment of the media? If it keeps most played It will not have my current newly added movie. Just trying to figure out why I would want a 160 when a 40 could suffice.

appleTV cannot connect directly to an external drive, everything must still go through iTunes.
i.e. either put your entire iTunes Library on the external and then point iTunes there (iTunes > Preference > Advanced) or you can also put some portion of your iTunes Library on the drive. i put my movies on a large external and my music on an internal drive. most people don't realize that files don't have to be in your iTunes Folder to be in iTunes. the trick is to click and hold the option key as you drag items into iTunes. this places a reference to the location of the file in iTunes rather than copying the file into the iTunes folder. in this way you can have your files anywhere you'd like. or if you wanted the whole library on an external you can just copy everything there and go to iTunes > Preference > advanced and move the location of the iTunes Library to the external drive.
i have my iTunes library "linked" to the appleTV so it is a syncing library (i.e. not "shared" which is a streaming only library). in iTunes i use a custom sync and basically i turn off all syncing from the media tabs except for photos. in the summary tab i uncheck the "show only synced item on appleTV" option and this lets me see the unsynced content but when i click on it on the appleTV it gets streamed. having it as a syncing library means that content bough on the appleTV gets synced back to my iTUnes library where it can be backed up on another large external drive via time machine. that's the other thing that you need to think about too is that you need to back up all this expensive stuff... on hard drive failure and poof, all your stuff could be gone... not just the appleTV other stuff but stuff on your computer that you might not be able to replace... a 1TB drive is less than $100 the last time i checked there is no reason not to back up.. can you really afford to have all your media, photos etc go up in smoke.. all hard drives fail eventually.. you just can never predict when.. back up!

What I was really trying to find out is if there is a limit on switching iTunes accounts - I have a vague memory of reading that changing from one iTunes store account to another was going to be limited in some way, but maybe this is on iTunes itself? Or perhaps my memory is incorrect? We have two iTunes accounts and swap back and forth regularly on our iPhones and iPads to buy and update apps without a problem. I couldn't find any reference to it on a quick search yesterday so what I have done with the AppleTV is leave it set to one account, and we watched the other account content via my Macbook.

Hi, I am creating a web site and have some movie content on some of the pages. Can you have more than one quicktime file on each page? Reason I ask is that on one page I have put 3 movie files but only one shows up when I run the site online. I am not using .mac. The website is on grapeape dot co dot uk and if you look at the examples page you should see what I mean. I get one video that works and 2 large "Q"'s where the other videos were. Odd because it works locally. Any ideas? Many thanks.

I would advise that you not set up a second Apple ID. It's really not necessary - having two Apple IDs won't affect how iTunes works with your iPads - and will just complicate matters. Each iPad will be treated independently and can be set to sync only the items you want on that particular iPad. If you really want to keep the two iPads separate, set up different iTunes libraries and have only those items you want on the related iPad in that library, rather than a different Apple ID. If you plan not to use a computer and just download directly to the iPads, you can again choose what apps and content each iPad gets.
But answering your specific question, you can have content from up to five iTunes Store accounts on any one computer or iPad. To create a new iTunes Store account, you'll need a different email address, and from there you just create the account the same way you did the first one.

Grouping on fields that have more than one value entered. Please need help fast!!!

I am creating a report that is to be grouped on a particular field that can have more than one entry. My user said they did not care how I did it but to only count the record one time. The field that is selected is a dropdown on an form that is in Alpha order. So the entries always appear in the the field in alpha order. This is for use as an example: Record 1 has a value of CAT in the field, Record 2 has a value of CAT, DOG in the field and Record 3 has a value of CAT, DOG, HORSE in the field. I get 3 separate groupings for the 3 records.
Group = CAT
      Then the detail information appears here
Group = CAT, DOG
      Then the detail information appears here
Group = CAT,DOG,HORSE
      Then the detail information appears here
What is would like to see using this example is one group for CAT with all 3 records appearing under it and ignore the other two. This way there would all be getting counted but the report would look a little more streamlined.
Group = CAT
      record 1 detail information
      record 2 detail information
      record 3 detail information

I am trying resolve the same/similar issue in Crystal Reports 10. For example, on a table there is a column called X with values Xsub1, Xsub2, Xsub3, etc. The user can select a parameter that includes Xsub2 and Xsub4. If this is selected 2 reports are generated (one for Xsub2 and Xsub4). What we really want is one report with the combined information for Xsub2 and Xsub4. How is (or is it) possible to do this in Crystal Reports 10? FYI - When the report was initially created the main body of the report was placed in the Group Footer so if the Group Footer is suppressed the content of the report is suppressed, too.

That message is telling you that you do not have enough stgorage on the iPod to accomodate all the media you are trying to sync to the iPod.

Did you read the support document at the other end of the link? What additional information do you desire?
The Apple support document How to use multiple iPods with one computer (n.b. same link as above!) suggests a number of ways for managing the media content. I use method two (Sync with selected playlists) with a slight twist. Rather than regular playlists I set the grouping field to indicate which users should receive which tracks and create smart playlists based on the content of this field.
e.g.
"Alice's Tracks" is "Grouping contains Alice" + "Kind contains audio"
"Bob's Videos" is "Grouping contains Bob" + "Kind does not contain audio"
Tracks that both Alice & Bob want on their iPods have the grouping set to "Alice/Bob"
etc.
I currently manage our family's five iDevices using this system, each getting a different selection to suit their tastes and the capacity of their device. An advantage of using the grouping field is that it is stored in file tags (for non-wav audio files anyway) so that it is relatively easy to recreate the playlists should the iTunes library get trashed and need rebuilding. Also useful if you move files about manually as playlist membership is preserved when you delete & re-import the tracks.

Does anyone know if RoboHelp now offers the ability to create
more than one table of contents for a help project?

Leon is right. The "workaround" we have used for years is to
create multiple TOC (projectname.hhc) or Index (.hhk) files and
archive them somewhere for safekeeping. Then use them to overwrite
the existing ones in the project. It works but it's really
inconvenient and you really have to pay attention to an archive
naming scheme because the filenames must be the same as the project
name.
However, I just noticed that I forgot to report in my Adobe
RoboHelp 7 sneak peek wrap up an even more robust implementation.

Not only will you have multiple TOC/Index and Glossary
definitions - you will also have the ability to add a "placeholder"
from one custom TOC to another. It's a reference that can be placed
anywhere in the hierarchy of the TOC. It works in a similar way
that the Merged TOC icon works now. Way cool and takes the TOC
(Index) to another level. They will also play nice with RoboSource
Control if you are using that.

Techicly you can have multiple TOC, but
they won't cover over the same pages.
Each one will cover from where they are up to the next one.
There is a walk around.
Since table of content table of illustation usaully are numbered independly
from the reste of the text, you will have to put extra care only with the table of content.
Make the right amount of page nessairy for all your table, and place theire name.
(You may have to input manully the part about «pre-text» of your table of content depending
of your numbering)
Put the right name in the right style.
Make your table of content then print it.
Input your table of illustration at the desire page (make sure page number still match),
change TOC setting to have what you want.
Print those page.
Do this for all your TOC.
If you only have 2 or 3 entry don't bother with that.
But if you got a lot like over 40 illustrations (like in the one I'm doing right now)
that can be a good option.

You have to navigate to the My Templates folder in the Application Support folder in your System Library which is hidden by default in OSX 10.7.5. Hold down the option key when you click on the Go menu in Finder and all will be revealed.
A page only exists because it has content on it, even if that is an invisible like a space, tab, return or page break. Click on the page you want to clear and delete the content.
Menu > View > Show Layout/Invisibles
to see what is there.

You CAN connect an iPad to multiple Apple ID's, one-at-a-time, if you're willing to share a combined pool of apps, music, movies, photos, podcasts, and perhaps, email accounts, and sync things manually.
First, uncheck the option to 'automatically sync' mobile devices in the preferences for each iTunes account, so that you're not accidentally installing or removing content when you connect the iPad to a computer.
Here's how we do it:
I have a MacBook with two user accounts and two Apple ID's: "Hers"-used only for iTunes/iPad manual sync-ing and backup; and "Mine", used for all my Mac programs, plus iPad Apps that I'm interested in.
The iPad2 is her only computing device, used primarily for email and web-browsing.
On her iPad2, we have a combined 'pool' of apps, photos, and music.
We use her Apple ID for her email, and to sync and back up.
I use my Apple ID to download a lot of free apps to my MacBook.
In the App Store, I sign out of her Apple ID and use my Apple ID to transfer and update the apps I want to try out. Then I can delete them from her iPad when I'm done 'playing', yet leave them on my MacBook for future re-installation, if desired.
To simplify email privacy, we've configured the iPad Mail app exclusively for her MobileMe and Hotmail accounts. I connect to my email accounts with the Safari browser, or from my MacBook.

You can have up to five different iTunes Store accounts on any given device. You just need to either log into the iTunes Store using the applicable accounts, or sync the iPad to a computer which is authorized to the accounts and transfer content or apps purchased through the accounts.
