I have moved but my iPad is still marking my position at my old place

I have an iPad 3 wi-fi only, my home internet is cable (Telstra). I recently moved to a new house, my connection was moved and I kept the same modem.
However, my iPad is still marking my position on Maps as if I were in my old place. How can I fix this? Any clue where the problem may be? Modem configuration? Carrier (Telstra)? Or Apple location services?

Wi-Fi only iPads do not have the GPS chip installed that allows for precise location determination. Instead the devices location is determined by a database listing that gives the location of the router. Your router might have moved with you but its location as listed in the database did not change. That's why your location shows as your previous residence. The location of the router may be updated eventually but it won't happen quickly, I think.

You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
This will tell you how to restore
iTunes: Backing up, updating or restoring iOS software
If you cannot restore that way, you may have to use recovery mode
iPad: Unable to update or restore

I am having trouble using itunes with my ipad.  I connect my ipad to my PC and itunes.  I go to apps and on the lower half my app for pages comes up.  On the right are the documents that are on my ipad, except that some documents that I have deleted on my ipad are still showing up on there.  How do I delete them in itunes?

Are the same playlists in iTunes? And what tracks do,you assigned them in iTunes, if they are?

  • Best option for bb and phone, i have moved but don...

    Hi
I have moved into a friends house for four months but dont need to move my existing bb and phone as i can use theres. My question is whats the best option to keep my current package with bt without moving it or cancelling it. Also i dont want anyone that may move into my old property to use my bt services.
Would be great if a BT employee could give me an email
    cheers

This is a user to user forum so you won`t get an official reply from a BT Employee without contacting the forum moderators.
I believe that BT can make your phone line either Outgoing Calls Barred or Temporary Out Of Service. You will still have to pay your normal phone/broadband charges.
There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.

  • SDK Schemas have moved - but where?

Probably because of the recent OTN web site reorganization, the XSD files for XML extensions have moved. Would someone please update http://wiki.oracle.com/page/SQL+Dev+SDK+How+Tos to point to the new locations of navigator.xsd, query.xsd, editors.xsd ...
    Thanks.

Would someone(Sue Harper?) please give us an ETA on providing the info we developers need to develop extensions to SqlDeveloper?
We have been waiting over a year to:
    1. Get the XSD files the poster refers to - the list of XSDs is on the page cited but all of the links take you to a generic download page and the XSDs are nowhere to be found. These must exist somewhere so it is very frustrating that no one on the development team will provide them.
    2. Get the API Javadocs so we can understand the java classes available and how to use them. As with #1, these must be available to the development team so why won't you release them to us?
    3. Get a working example of a Jave extension. The lone example provided is not useful since it is really just an XML extension written in Java.l A useful Java extension would show how to create the hooks to cause SqlDeveloper to perform callbacks to the Java extension code when certain user actions take place. Same here as with #1 and #2. It's hard to beleive that someone on the dev team doesn't have the code for a simple Java extension with callbacks.
JDeveloper has 'hook' elements in its example extension.xml files but there is no documentation for SqlDeveloper to show the equivalent.
Please either provide the above requested items, provide an ETA on when you will provide the items or at least be gracious enough to tell us you won't provide the items.
I'm sure there are many like myself that would love to start working with extensions but can't because you won't share information and data that almost assuredly already exists.
What is your position on these issues?

  • HT201412 Do i need a SIM to activate a new Ipad, i have wireless but the ipad continues to say no SIM

i have just tryed to activate my ipad and it says there is no SIM which is correct, i have WIFi in the house but the Ipad will only go to the page where you select language and will not go any further

    Hello there, Stuart148.
As long as your iPad is iPad2 or later you should be running iOS 6 and should be able to set it up without a sim-card. If you're not up to date, a restore using iTunes would get you to the most current iOS version:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
If you're iPad is first-generation then you are unable to run the latest iOS version and will need the  sim-card to activate it.

  • I have updated my Apple ID via my iPad, but my other devices still think the ID is the old one and I can't work out how to update them

Yesterday, after discovering that the email address I used as my Apple ID was about to be deleted, I used my iPad to update my Apple ID to a new one.  Everything went fine, until I moved on to my iPhone, which is still asking me for the password for my OLD Apple ID.  I can't work out how to tell either my iPhone or my Macbook that this one is out of date and get them to change to the new one.  iTunes is changed, but the settings aren't.  Can anyone help me please?

You haven't stuffed it, you just haven't signed out, so do that now, everywhere your old ID appears needs to be signed out of.
Any variant of "Find My" (phone/mac/pad etc) that's signed in should be signed out.
List what needs a sign out if you don't know how to.

"This iPhone hasn’t been backed up in 2 weeks. Backups happen when this iPhone is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi."
I am get this message on my Ipad and have followed the instructions, connect the Ipad, lock the screen and connected to a Wi-Fi connection - however I have done this but I still get the message on the screen.  It will not even let me press 'OK' - the screen is not responsive... I cannot access the OS.  Help

Reset your iPad to clear that condition:
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

  • My iPad screen is black but the iPad itself still works. I reset the iPad but it still doesn't work. What can i do?

When i went onto my iPad this morning it was completely fine and working but once i took it to college with me the battery had ran out, so later on tonight i plugged my charger in and left it charging for about half an hour, when i went to go back up onto it was just a black screen and every so often when i pressed the power button it would flash blue for a split second then be blacked out again...
So i had a look on this community to see if there was any solutions that could help and i found a case similar to mine so i tried to reset in hopes that it worked but it never did. I know that the iPad itself is working as i managed to unlock my iPad when putting in my passcode and i was able to get notification through as well, but after the reset i saw the apple logo appeared and it flashed a few times and i could see the setup on the screen to set it up as a new iPad.
I don't know how or why the screen will not work properly, so any help would be great

    Hello there, Courtney_May.

Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

We have downloaded apps to our pc but we can't get them on our ipod touch.  We have synced our ipod to our computer.  We can't even get them when we are some where there is wifi.  We don't have wifi at our home and was hoping to be able to plug it into our computer and get everything from our computer to our ipod but it doesn't work.  What do we do?
