I have mozilla 5.0 Mac. When I open Firefox it says there is newer version. I try to download, but it does'nt change
Have tried to update Mozilla version, but it doesn't work
If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the disk image (dmg) file to the desktop
*Firefox 7.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
*Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
*Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data if you uninstall and (re)install Firefox.

I have just reformatted my drive and reinstalled creative cloud and lightroom. When i open it, it says there is another version running the catalog and i have to switch to it to fix the problem, but there is no other version on my computer. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Where did you put the LR catalog?
Did you install the same version of LR, which one?
OS and version?
Open the folder where the catalog (*.lrcat) is located. If you see a file with lock in it while LR is not running, delete it.
Now try to start LR again. -
I can't update my MacOS version so wondered if there is an in between version of Firefox which would enable me to see youtube videos with the sound and vision synchronized. With my current version the video is about 10 mintues behind the sound!
You will not be able to install a later version of Firefox, they require at least OS X 10.4
A couple of alternative browsers you could try are [http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/seamonkey1.1.19/ SeaMonkey 1.1.19] and [http://caminobrowser.org/download/ Camino 1.6.11] -
Something happened with Firefox where all that comes up when I open Firefox are my toolbars and a place to enter a URL, but there is no window. I have to enter full screen mode to view websites. How do I get back to a regular browsing window? I have no idea how this even happened.
Hello,
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Thank you. -

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/533.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/5.0.375.99 Safari/533.4Do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can skip the step to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue.

This is the message when I Open Firefox:
"You're not on the latest version of Firefox. Upgrade today to get the best of the Web!"
At <Help> & <About Firefox>, it shows
Firefox
9.0.1
"Firefox is up to date"
"You are currently on the release update Channel"
One of those messages must be wrong. Either way Firefox seems to work fine otherwise. Thanks and regards, Peter SpielmanIs your homepage set to www.google.com/firefox? If so, that page is wrong. You should change your home page to about:home or some other site instead. The google.com/firefox page is no longer supported.

Before Firefox open the little window opens saying"wait installing new updates." Then after when opening Firefox, my home page says "can't find this page. I have plugged in the address: http://www.google.com/firefox?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official and it Firefox still won't open. I have to run the Firefox setup 3.6.3 on my desktop, to get Firefox to open on my home page. I would like to stop these automatic Updates from running; how?
Unfortunately I tried that and it didn't work. Thanks for the help though. I tried to uninstall and it said I couldn't because the file is corrupt or something, but I think I finally got it uninstalled and/or deleted or whatever, but now I try to reinstall/download it again from the beginning and I can't. No matter what I do I can not get Firefox working again. No matter how many times I try to redownload it. Any other suggestions?

Why do i have four tabs coming up when I open firefox
it takes a while for firefox to load because it is opening 3 tabs at a time for some reason. I only need one. One of the tabs is titled welcome to firefox. It shows Horray!!! your firefox is up to date. another tab shows version 6.7 installed of easy you tube video downloaded and wants me to select an edition. The last tab is the only one i want to open when I use firefox. it is the search page.So how do i stop the other two tabs from popping up and slowing firefox down?
Check the Home page setting.

Why cannot I have my personal page load when I open Firefox
On Safari, my home page opens when I log on, and I can read my email. I would rather use Firefox, but I get my ISP's Generic home page, and have to supply my Screen name and password every time I log on, which is a nuisance.
Can this be corrected ?Check the Home page setting.

There is only one user profile on the computer which is obviously administrator and the file that it says can't be accessed doesn't actually have a pathway in the section.
I have un-installed all java programs completely off the computer as well as Mozilla then restarted and installed everything again with the same problem coming up
The missing file is in a location that doesn't exist in the JRE folder.
\java\jre6\lib\deploy\..\..\..\..\bin\jqsnotify.exeI would expect wording related to connection, but see

This started a couple of days ago and I have no idea why.
TomHi,
Please check if this happens in a [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles new profile]. If the new profile is okay, you can later [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Recovering%20important%20data%20from%20an%20old%20profile?s=profile&r=1&e=sph&as=s copy the needed personal data] from the old profile. Firefox stores your personal data and settings in another location separate from its [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installation_directory files/folder]. A new profile would have the default Firefox settings ('''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Options%20window '''Options'''], and [http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config about:config] ), and usually would also be empty of any '''Extensions''' and themes ('''Appearance''') in Tools > Add-ons) and their settings. Also, a new profile would have no previous stored website data/settings etc., ('''Tools''' > [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Clear%20Recent%20History '''Clear Recent History''']).

I installed bearshare as my program for downloading music, but after installation, my homepage has disappeared and my google search engine has changed to bear share.
I want google as my default search engine. To revert to Google as your preferred search engine, please do the following.<br><br>
* In the location bar, type '''about:config''' and hit Enter.<br><br>
* In the filter at the top, type: '''keyword.URL'''<br><br>
* Double click it and remove whatever's in there and replace it with http://www.google.com/search?q=<br>
The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "Copy Link Location" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.
'''To reset your home page, do the following'''.<br><br>
* Go to the site you want to set as your homepage.<br><br>
* Click the orange Firefox button and go to '''Options '''| '''Options '''| '''General'''.<br><br>
* Make sure it says "''Show My Homepage''" in the first dropdown menu.<br><br>
* Click the button called "'''Use Current Pages'''" to set the homepage to the one you have on the screen.<br>
After you complete the above steps, install this add-on to prevent another search engine from modifying your preferences: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/browserprotect/
''''''EDIT'''''': After you complete the above steps, go to Add/Remove Programs and remove the Bearshare Media Bar. It may be called "BMB". -
my question just about says it all. DOn't know what else you want. I have a Windows Vista and have been using FIrefox for at least 4 yeas.
Hi lonepinemax, it's good you have options! Firefox 22 doesn't run plugins where the page sets them to '''hidden="true"'''. I don't know whether there is any chance of that changing, so hopefully the site will update soon.

Those are all the details I have
