I have Mozilla Firefox installed, but whenever I try to bring it up I get a message that says "The proxy server is refusing connections" What do I do?

This is what follows the first statement;
"Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections".
*Check the proxy settings to make sure they are correct. (Done)
*Contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working.
I have called COMCAST, my internet service provider and they said there is nothing they can do for me.
I would appreciate an answer to this problem
The default "Use the system proxy settings" setting doesn't always work properly on Windows XP and in such a case it is better to select "No proxy".
You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection<br />
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy"

I tried to download firefox 4.0 today and now I am unable to connect to the internet from home. I bought a Zeppelin music player and iPod classic in December 2012, and all went well until I last synched the iPod with iTunes, and now I get a message saying that the iPod doesn't recognise the attached accessory when I try to connect it to the Zeppelin. I did recently update to the latest iTunes version-could this be the problem, and if so how do I cure it? All help appreciated.
It's still charging when you plug it in. That just means it won't play music out the speaker. If that's what you were looking to do, they have speakers for iPods.

I have a computer running Vista home premiun, it belongs to a co worker with teens, he asked me to check it out because it was not working correctly, I found several issues including a lack of microsoft updates (140 +) and a response to a question about defragging as "what???". I have now uploaded all current microsoft updates, and gone thru and remove all extras. I also loaded Secunia PSI, and scanned a number of times to ensure that everything loaded is up to date. I pretty much run all the same software on my own computers (3) and have neer encountered any issue.
Please try to set Firefox to use '''no proxy''' - [[Options window - Advanced panel#w_connection]] explains how.

I checked with my network administrator and he said that everthing was fine. I started using Internet Explorer and everything is working. I plug in my printer and I get a message that says, "the disk you inserted is not readable." It didn't do this before but after I installed a segate hardrive software. I have removed the segate hardrive software but the message still appears. What can I do to remove this error.

Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:

This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which you do have to type. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.

I have a Apple ID, but whenever i try to download apps it asks me to do resetting of the the account.

As I said in the question when I click on the firefox link on the desktop this is what comes up (THE PROXY SERVER IS REFUSING CONNECTIONS Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections) but I can get connected through Internet Explorer. I have uninstalled firefox and reinstalled firefox with no difference.
I tried all that stuff and none of it helped. I can't load any of the google applications in firefox now. They pop up with this screen.

mail.google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because it was issued by an invalid CA certificate. (Error code: sec_error_inadequate_key_usage)
Now I tried a couple of other sites and they all seemed to work okay, and if necessary I could click understand the risks and still access the site, but no go with google. Considering I use my google account for my calendar and gmail a lot, I am highly disappointed with this new update. I hate using IE and really prefer to use Firefox. -
I re installed my Final Cut express software, now when I go to use my "halo" and "arrow" application I get a message that says the file format is too new for this version of the application. Anybody have suggestions?
After install, did you go to Apple menu > Software Update to update your FCE to the latest version?
