I have multiple application folders for some reason

Hi,
I have recently upgraded to lion, and i noticed i had duplicate applications. When i looked on my search bar under the title 'applications' six different application folders were seen is this normal?

I have the same problem - I've had it several times since I bought an iMac (27" solid state hard drive) in summer last year.I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. At one point I had Application folders nested to four levels!
These are NOT aliases - I only discovered the problem when my hard drive was running out of space!
I have certainly not done anything to cause this to happen (I am a very experienced Mac user).
Deleting the nested folders has had no ill effects (although I did have problems with emptying the Trash for a while).
Not really a problem, except in that it might be symptomatic of something seriously wrong with the system.

Depends on what you had
If you had iPhoto version 9.5.1 then you can reinstall from the app store under purchases
If you had any version of iPhoto '11 then you can install for free from the App store
If you had any earlier version of iPhoto (iPhoto '09 version 8.x.x) or older then you need to purchase iPhoto '11 version 9.x.x from the app store
If you had iPhoto '08 (version 7.x.x) or older then you also need to download and run the iPhoto library upgraded prior to launching the new iPhoto

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?

(1)    Adobe Type Manager (ATM) is not compatible with any version of Windows beyond Windows XP (32-bit, only). Attempting to install ATM on any newer version of Windows may actually disable Window's capability of rendering Type 1 and OpenType CFF fonts, requiring a reinstallation of Windows.
(2)    There is no need to use ATM to install any fonts under Windows.
(3)    The file name ._DIN-bold is indicative of a MacOS font. These fonts cannot be installed on Windows systems.

For some reason I can not launch Dash board anymore. I have used Finder and it is not there. What can I co besides take computer into service?

1. It's possible you removed Dashboard from your Dock by mistake. In that case, you can find it in your Applications folder and drag it back to the Dock to create the alias. The entire Dock are aliases.
2. If you cannot find in your Applications folder you can try re-installing the Combo Update I linked to.
This is a fuller install, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update so it should overwrite any files that are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have applied it before.

My Ipod touch is saying that i have to reset it for some reason, none of my things were backed. HELP

This morning I was having trouble with my Faceebook app so I delleted it and added it again. Well the new one wasn't loading so i turned my iPod Touch off hopefully dooing the trick like it usually does. Well NO, it didn't. My iPod stayed at the same turning off screeen for a long time. I soon pluged it into the charger as another posssibility of maybe it working. Nope, that didn't work either. When I looked at it soon after there was a new screen, telling me to plug my iPod into iTunes. I did accordingly ad well it told me that my iPod Touch is in Recovery mode, I have not a clue to why. Right after that it tell me that I must retore my iPod beffore I can use it with iTunes. Why is this happening??? IfI restore it will I loose EVERYTHING, SOMETHINGS, or what?? I have a lot of tuff on my iPod that I didn't sink up to my acount with. What do I do in order not to loose everything, and if I do, can I get my $$ back to rebuy everything?? PLEASE HELPPPPPPPP

If it is already in Recovery Mode, anything you have not backed up to your computer is gone...

When you sync with itunes on your computer make sure you have all the songs that you want to sync selected in the music tab in itunes when you connect your phone. Also with your phone connected click on the tones tab and make sure all the ringtones you want are selected there then sync

Thanks for your response. There is no option to Add Security Exception (which there usually is from my past experience). All im trying to do is connect to Gmail, and so it already defaults to the https:// url, which then causes this issue.
Im completely stumped on this one. Gmail is the only site that im having this problem with (my yahoo login pops right up) but its the one I need the most.

I have a MacPro that for some reason FCPX briefly "sees" my Raid drives then acts like the Events there don't exist. Seems like it wants to treat that drive like a "camera". Any ideas..help.. It sees the Main drive no problem.

I am having a problem with FCPX seeing my Raid drive as a Drive and not as a Camera.. Don't know what I might have done to change things..it was working fine and other than backing things up to external harddrive..not sure what happened. I reinstalled FCPx, checked the disk permissions and verified it with the disk utilities. any suggestions?

First I'd recommend following the instructions in this Update Process link. Next download (or redownload if you have already) the 10.6.8 Combo Update. You can find it at:

To read a secure email i must have adobe reader 10 for some reason I can't download it. Help?

You can't download the installer from Adobe? Or you can get the installer but it won't install? What exactly is going wrong? We need details to be able to offer much in the way of advice, though this problem would probably best be taken up in Adobe's own forums since this appears to be a problem with their product.

You probably have "iCloud...." on. Uncheck it.
If the contacts are "gone" and they still are in your Addressbook on the Mac:
connect the 3G with the USB cable,
click on the iPhone icon in iTunes,
on the "Info" page "Advanced" part (scroll down) check "contacts" under "replace this information on my iPhone" and the click the "Apply" button at the bottom of the page: it will just this one time overwrite the contacts database on the iPhone with the Address book on your mac....
