I have multiple folders that i wish to compact into one - how do I do this?

After a couple of migrations with Outlook, I have multiple instances of various folders & would like to consolidate them - and then have a grand tidy up!
Just not sure how to go about moving files/groups of files/whole folders into another folder.
Any help would be appreciated - I may have the wrong end of the stick, coming from an Outlook 2003 background!

Yes, this is a Thunderbird Question - not sure how/why it strayed, I went through the Help facility to post it. Please move it to the appropriate forum. Bilz
