I have multiple devices$ users on my apple account. How do I set up icloud so that we can have our own emails?

iCloud isn't designed for multiple users. Everyone involved should have their own separate iCloud account, which means they need a separate Apple ID to create it: and each should be using a separate user account on the Mac to sign into their iCloud account.

  • Managing multiple iOS devices on different Apple accounts from the same iMac

May be a very simple question to answer, but can I manage multiple iOS devices on different Apple accounts from the same iMac?
I ask as whilst I'm totally Mac'd, my partner who has her own Apple account has a Winows laptop and experiences problems updating iOS software on her iPhone 4S and iPad 3 Gen via the laptop. I'm thinking the problems may be overcome if we manage her iOS devices through my iMac.

Thanks dwb .... I thought there'd be a catch .... not to keen on all that media and apps on my iMac!
The specific problem is that whenever she updates to the latsest version of iOS using the latest iTunes for Windows on her PC laptop she seems to lose something in the process. One time she lost all her texts and the other day when updating to 5.1.1 she lost all her reminders. Not the end of the world but frustrating and shouldn't really happen and doesn't happen to me using the iMac and OSX.

  • I have two iphone 4s with one apple account how can i separate them.

I have two iphone 4s and we share the apple account.  I want to have individual accounts.  How can I change the secondary account? In other words I want to add another apple account.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
That's simply not possible I'm afraid. You'd need to give them their own account and allowance or make it so you are required to be there to input the password when they wish to make a purchase.

How can I have multiple users on one apple ID?
ie: I have my apple ID with my own credit, how can I set up credit for my son under the same apple ID, so that he can still access the same apps I've already downloaded and paid for?

I've been trying to figure out a clean way to do this too. I think you may need more than one Apple ID – one that is shared and used to purchase "sharable" items and then "individual" Apple IDs for you and your son. That's the idea that I'm pursuing for the moment.
It seems that there must be a way to do this, App Store purchases for the Mac are licensed across multiple machines. iPhone app purchases have "all your devices" licensing. Makes me think that Apple has a process in mind for sharing an account (or associating a device with multiple accounts).
    Other things I've learned:
    - Apparently you can't merge Apple ID accounts. I asked about this once at an Apple Store and was told that there was no way to do it.
    - If you share an Apple ID the Messages app behaves in a somewhat surprising manner. It must use your Apple ID to decide where messages should be sent because all users get all messages. This can make it very hard to organize a surprise party :-)

  • Greetings: I have multiple iPads and iPhones. I want all to be able to be able to stream to our Apple TV. All of the docs I see say you must have the same Apple ID for all the devices, but we each have our own Apple ID. Is this just a doc short coming?

You can each have your own ID for your own iTunes accounts, but in order for a device to stream via AirPlay to the same Apple TV, everything must use the same homesharing ID. This is not the same as your iTunes account ID (although it can be for one of the devices)

  • HT4847 Can I have multiple users's family devices backed up to the cloud e.g. 2 iPhones and 2 iPads under the same iTunes account

Just got a second iPad for the home.
Can I have multiple users's family devices backed up to the cloud e.g. 2 iPhones and 2 iPads under the same iTunes account?

Yes, but it's not usually recommended to share an iCloud account within a family.  If you do, any data you sync with iCloud will be merged and you, for example, will end up with each other's contacts and calendars on your devices.  Also, any action taken on one device (such as adding or deleting a contact) will be replicated on the other devices.  You will also all be sharing the same 5GB of free storage for all your data and device backups.
Normally it's best to use separate iCloud accounts for each person's devices.  This will keep your data separated, and allow each person to have their own free 5GB of storage.  You can continue to share the same iTunes ID within the family; the ID you use for iCloud does not need to be the same as the one your use for iTunes purchasing.  (Each person should also use a separate ID on their devices for iMessage and FaceTime to avoid getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls.)

Is it possible to have multiple users on a single ipad

Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days.

I have multiple family members using one apple id and all of our data is going onto each others phones/how do i stop this?

Each person needs to have their own separate Apple ID along with their own separate computer user account and iTunes Library.

  • How can I have multiple users on iTunes (in order to connect to a shared office iPad)?

How can I have multiple users on iTunes (in order to connect to a shared office iPad)? Currently each of us has our own iTunes account, so I've made an "all office" Apple ID. However, I can't seem to get two different accounts (my personal and the office) to work on my machine. Even when I login as "the office", my personal library is still showing. Additionally, when I try to setup with a first-time use in iTunes, I get an error that I don't meet the minimum age requirement - no matter what birthdate I enter!

The library exists regardless of which user is logged in.
The only way around that is to create different user accounts on the computer.
There is no way to have 20 unique iTunes users access a shared iTunes under a single login on the computer.

  • Why can't I have 2 users with 2 different apple ID's on my iMac

Just bought a new iMac, I have set up 2 user accounts, one for myself the other for my Fiance. We both have different apple ID's yet we can't both download our purchases. As he has already downloaded his old purchases on to the new Mac, when I try, it brings up the box saying that "this computer is already associated with another apple ID, therefore it can't be used with my ID for another 90 days"
I have tried to get Apple Support to help me out but they just pushed me down the route of Home Share, this isn't working as the laptop with all the music on, isn't always turned on.
Does anyone know how to solve my problem? Apple say that it can be done, yet 3 live chats, 2 phone calls and many hours later and I still can't access my purchased items, surely the iMac should be able to have multiple users with multiple apple ID's???
    Please help!!

No, once the initial 90 days has passed, you should both be able to download. My husband and I share an iTunes library, and to the best of my knowledge, we do not have issues with both of us being able to download.
I'll double-check it tonight when he gets home, but I'm fairly certain we are now both able to do it.
I'll post back once I've tested it.
    Cheers,

  • Find my Friends : Support for multiple users under the same Apple ID?

Can multiple users under the same Apple ID use the app to find each other?  My daughter uses my Apple ID with her iPod touch which allows me to monitor her purchases but it seems that only one device under an ID can use the app at a time.  If that is the case then it is a major disadvantage and I will need to go back to using latitude (or Find My iPhone which also allows me to see where all of my devices are at the same time)

  • How can I sync Iphone to a PC calendar then have multiple users share that calendar? Is there an application that does that?

How can I sync Iphone to a PC calendar then have multiple users share that calendar? Is there an application that does that?

If it is actually an exchange calendar, and it's not linked to a specific user, it should be possible to simply add the exchange account to each device in question and have that exchange account only sync the calendar.  Then every user has access to the same calendar and can add/edit entries to the calendar as needed.
The same would apply if it were a Google calendar added via Exchange.
If the calendar is not actually on Exchange, but rather added from an outside source, it will depend on that outside source where the calendar originates.
