I have music in my iTunes account that I do not see on my iPad

I have an iPad and an iPod.  Had the Pod for years.  Music that is in my iTunes account, and has been for some time, suddenly doesn't show  up on my iPad (and maybe my Pod, don't use it much any more).  I sync regularly, but until I got some decent earphones never listened to the iPad much.  Because of that, I recently noticed this situation.  How do I get the music from iTunes (my whole library) onto my iPad?  I have plenty of data storage, that is not the problem.

When you say that you have music in your iTunes account, do you mean that the music is in your iTunes library on your computer? If it is, you can sync the music to your iPad and it probably isn't syncing because the sync settings are not correct.
This explains how to sync music to the iPad. It works the same way for an iPod, iPad and an iPhone.

Since you disputed the charges with your credit card company, the CC company reversed the charges and Apple (correctly) locked the AppleID.
You will need to contact Apple -> http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/contact/
    and explain what happened.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • HT204088 how can I see credits that have gone onto my itunes account ? I can only see purchases in account history

Can anyone tell me where to see credits on my Itunes account ?

You can't see a list of when gift cards or other credits were added to your account, but if you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option you should see your account's balance and any credits that you have on it

  • HT2534 I have money on my iTunes account.  Can I purchase apps for my iPad with this credit?

I have a credit on my iTunes account.  Can I purchase apps for my iPad with this credit and how do I do it?

Yes. You can use any funds that you have available in iTunes for the App Store, iTunes, iBooks or the Mac App Store. Just go to the app store and tap on the app that you want to download. If the credit is available, it will be deducted from your account when you make the purchase.
You can swipe to the bottom of the featured tab in the app store to view your account balance.

  • I cannot access the music via my iTunes account and it will not download all of them.  If it matters, I have not gotten the new update yet.

I go to school and I would like to be able to listen to my music on my laptop versus using my iPhone or iPad.  Only some of my music had been downloaded and I cannot download the rest.  I have authorized my computer through my account several times but I still cannot get all of my music on it.  I have the 128GB but storage is not an issue as I use a flash drive (16GB) and I have access to external hard drive (1.5TB).  How can I get all of my music to actually download to my MacBook?

    Hello JeremyPoolaw84,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
In order to list to your music purchased on iTunes on your computer, you will need to first download those songs.  To download your previous purchases from the iTunes Store, please follow the directions in the link below.
Download previous purchases on Mac or PC
Make sure your Mac or PC meets these system requirements:
    iTunes 10.3 or later
You need iTunes 10.6 or later to download previously purchased movies and TV shows.
iTunes account in a country where iTunes in the Cloud is available
    iTunes Store
Open iTunes and go to the iTunes Store.
Click Purchased in the Quick Links section.
Select the content type that you want to download (Music, Movies, TV Shows, Apps, or Books).
Select Not in My Library to view purchased content that isn't on your computer.
Find the item that you want to download. You can browse using the menu to the left. If you have more than 2,000 songs, you'll see Recent Purchases instead of All Songs or Albums.
Click the Download  icon next to the item you want to download.
If an item is already in your library, the Download icon won't appear.
    Download past purchases
    Cheers,
    Alex H.

  • How can I delete purchases from my itunes account that I DID NOT PURCHASE I have tried everything for a VERY LONG TIME please please help

I have had an iTunes account for 3 years. I have tried for at least two years to delete these purchases that I did not purchase off my iTunes downloads. I have tried everything. I took iTunes off my computer, redownloaded . I have tried deleting and removing them. I do not know how they got there but everytime I go to download anything these 8 purchases start to download. I then have to pause them all and back to the agganizing termoil of trying to delete them off my account. Can you please please help meI am beyond aggrevated because nothing I do deletes these things off, and I have tried for two years with no results but more aggrivation.

I would contact Apple Support either on the phone or via e-mail and have them check if they could remove these questionable purchases off your account.
There is currently no way to do this on your own.
And re-installing iTunes does not help as all the purchase info is stored on Apple's servers.

  • I have music in my iTunes library that won't transfer to my iPod.  I restored the iPod, I get an message stating 29 things can't be copied because the computer isn't authorized.  I deauthorized and reauthorized the computer but they still don't copy

I recently purchased some music.  Then I realized that I hadn't heard some other music for a long time.  I checked the iPod and the music isn't there.  On my PC in the iTunes library it is there but it won't copy to the iPod.  I went to my local Apple store and talked to a genius.  No luck.  He restored the iPod, we deauthorized my computer.  When I got home I reauthorized the computer and again restored the iPod.  29 things can't be copied to the iPod because it says the computer isn't authorized.  The computer is authorized.
At one time I purchased music through iTunes but used my AOL sign in, instead of my Apple ID.  I think this is where the problem is.
Does anybody know how I can get my purchased music back on my iPod?

  • HT204088 I have purchases on my iTunes account that are not mine. Where could this be coming from?

I keep getting charged for purchases that are not mine. I don't know where they are coming from and I checked my childrens accounts. Where could they be coming from?

    Hello there duxmania,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
I have a couple of recommendations for you here. First for the purchases that you did not authorize, I would reach out to the iTunes store support directly.
How to report an issue with your iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBooks Store purchase
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1933
Find the email receipt for your purchase.
Click Report a Problem under the app that is having the issue.
When prompted, enter the Apple ID and password you used to purchase the item, then click Report a Problem.
Click Report a Problem next to the item you are having an issue with.
From the Choose Problem dropdown menu, choose the appropriate issue.
Follow the onscreen instructions and—if prompted—type a description of the problem into the text field.
Click Submit to have your issue reviewed.
You may also want to change your Apple ID password.

  • HT1420 i used 3 old computers for my itunes account that i do not have ANY ACCESS with anymore, that i want to de-authorize.... can i do that without the computers and does it wipe out my existing computer at the same time?????

i used 3 old computers for my itunes account previously, that i have no access to de-authorize now..
can this still be done with my existing computer, and does it de-authorize the current one, so that i would have to re-load it????
the original 3 computers are long gone, in-active....

Individual computers can only be deauthorised directly on them, but as you have more than one computer authorised then you can log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need. Deauthorising a computer doesn't remove any content from it, it just means that you won't be able to use any of the account's downloads on it until you reauthorise it.

  • I see charges on my iTunes account that I did not make.

Hello, I'm showing over 200 dollars of charges I did not make. In fact, my computer was being shipped back to me for school since the 17 of Feb. When I got it all up and running I open my email to see multiple charges of music on the 1st of March that I did not purchase. I consider myself a safe surfer and always keep windows and firefox updated, I also run noscript. I ran various anti trojan programs and spybot s&d in safemode and came up clean. I was in a rush to get to class so I was unable to call apple today before they closed.
What is apple's policy on something like this where multiple purchases were made on someone's account without them knowing about it? I plan on calling them in the morning but I would like some input on if this has happened to anyone else and what they did to rectify the situation.

Remove your CC info from your iTunes account, change your password and immediately notify your credit card company and dispute the charges.

Same as any other retailer with bogus charges. Your credit card company authorized the charges so it's up to you to dispute the charges with the credit card company and your CC company to contact Apple.

Don't waste your time. They will tell you to notify your CC company as would any other retailer.
