I have music on my computer that i am trying to put on my iphone but it wont sync

i have my iphone but it wont let me download off of my macbook

You may need to update your computer software.
iTunes should be version 11
The phone should be on version 7
Have you synced with this computer before?
Connect via cable
Select "show column browser"
Select the phone from the left column
Select music to sync with check marks
Check the box on top that says sync music.
Click apply

If they were purchases from iTunes then have you checked to see if you can re-download them (it's not possible in all countries), assuming that they are still available in the store : re-downloading ? If you aren't in a country where you can re-download past music purchases and you haven't got a backup, then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

  • I have a vintage mac computer that I am trying to download the asian language pack for simplified chinese; However the error message tells me I need an update installer?? Cannot find the right download for the 10.5.8 OS

I have a 10.5.8 os and need the simplified Chinese languag pack which I have not been able to download. It says I need an update installer which I cannot find as well/ or one that will work. Any suggestions?

Are you sure it is not already there?   In system preferences/international/language, don't you see simplified Chinese on the list?  It is supposed to be there.  You just move it to the top and restart to put the OS into that language.
Missing language packs can also normally be installed  by running the Language Translations installers found in the OptionalInstalls.mpkg of the Leopard DVD.

  • Hello, I have a series of language cd's that I am trying to put onto my iTunes but when I download them, they will not save separately instead they are saving as the first disk so i am ending up with 3 disks on 1. Please help

Hello, I am trying to copy a series of language cd's onto iTunes but each cd will not save separately, instead it is saving all as one disk. So I am ending up with 3 disks on 1 with 3 different track1, 2 etc. Please help as I am sure there is an easy solution to this that I have no clue about. Thanks

After you insert the CD but before you import it into iTunes, select all tracks and set the disc number to 1, 2, 3 ... as appropriate.

  • HT1296 Long before I got an iphone 4s I got an ipod touch. I want to sync the music on my ipod onto my computer to put onto my iphone, but it won't do it because my apple IDs are different. Is there a way to fix it?

Several years ago I got an ipod touch as a gift and set it up with my then current apple ID from previous apple products. Since then I got an iphone4s. When that got set up it got set up with a new ID because at the time, I couldn't access my old one because I had forgotten the passwords and the passwords to acces the email account to which the info would have been sent (a problem since solved.) I have a lot of music on my ipod that I would like to transfer to my iphone, but I cannot seem to sync it to my computer because it that music was downloaded from a differnt ID. Can I fix this? Some of the music are CDs that have since been damaged, and some is downloaded music I'd rather not pay for again. Thanks for the help!

To copy iTunes purchases to the computer you have to log into (authorize) the account that purchased them and them transfer

Had to restore my computer and now have music on the iPad that I would like to transfer back to the computer. How do I do this? (Operating system is Windows Vista)

This depends, if the music was purchased on the iTunes store you can transfer purchases. If it was not then you would need a 3rd party program in order to rip these files to the computer.

  • I have a Ipad2, my computer that contains all of my apps, music etc crashed and dosent work. I bought a new laptop, how do I retrieve that iTunes account and or apps, movies etc.

With your new computer, you'll download a fresh copy of iTunes and then authorize iTunes using your Apple ID and Password.  Read the following link:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1420
You can then connect your iPad to your new computer via USB cable and transfer your purchases (do not connect your iPad until you have authorized the computer.  The music you had in your old iTunes account will not be in your new account as music is stored in a file on your hard drive, which you said has crashed.

  • I have music on one computer but need to move to another

I am sure this has been asked several times but I have not been able to find a concrete answer. I have two laptops. The original one has tons of songs that have not been purchased through itunes but instead downloaded from CD's and an Itunes account they are saved to. I recently purchased a new computer that I started using the same itunes account with but cannot figure out how to get the music from the old computer with the itunes account to the new computer using the same itunes account without having to download all of the music again. Please help!

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

    - Transfer other music by using a third-party probgram like one of those dicussed here:
