I have music on my iPhone that is not on my iTunes account - how do I transfer?
After having to re-boot my PC, I unfortunately lost some of the music on my iTunes account. The songs are still able to be played on my iPhone but in the iTunes account, to the left of the tick box there is an exclamation mark, and when I click on the song to play it, a box comes up telling me that "the song can not be used because the original file could not be found." Is there any way of me being able to get the songs from my iPhone back onto my iTunes account? Please help! Thanks x
You should not have lost songs with just a re-boot. Search your hardrive for the songs... http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1408

Hi Aitkesh,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
This article has some information on transferring music from an iPhone to iTunes:
iTunes: Transferring media from your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or iPod
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1209
Here's the information related to transferring music:
Music purchased from the iTunes Store
Transfer your content via iTunes.
Download your content through iTunes in the Cloud1.
Download your content through iTunes Match2.
Music imported from a CD or another source
iTunes cannot transfer this media back to a computer. Make sure to back up your iTunes Library, or you can use iTunes Match2.
Cheers,

I have music on my iPhone that is not on my iTunes (mac)
I have music on my iPhone that is not on my iTunes (mac). I have unchecked all music and synced so iTunes doesn't see the music but when I go to my phone music is still there. The phone is running out of memory when I try to update apps due to this.
There appears to be about 3GB of music on my iPhone I cant removePurchased content from iTunes? If so, your phone connected, iTunes running: File>Transfer Purchases. Or, you can delete the music directly on your phone: swipe left-to-right across the song/album, hit "Delete".

I had an incomplete backup of my music on an external hard drive. I had to have my hard drive replaced. I now have music on my iPhone that is not on my MacBook Pro. It is music that was not purchased from the iTunes store, but it was uploaded from a CD (which I no longer have). How can I transfer music from my iPhone to my MacBook?
Turingtest2's user tip will help you with this.
Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. -

How do I delete songs from my iphone that are not on my itunes account?
You mean music that was not purchased from the iTunes Store?
If so, that means the music was transferred from your iTunes library on computer via the iTunes sync process - unless you are an iTunes Match subscriber.
Music transferred from your computer can be removed the same way - via the iTunes sync process or you should be able to delete individual songs direct from the iPhone. -
HT1766 Will this backup music on my iphone that was not purchased from itunes?
will it?
No. Any music on your phone that did not come from iTunes MUST have come from your computer. It should still be there.

I have a very old Ipod probably 12 years old. It could be the first or second generation. I have music on it that I would like to put on my new one. I have not updated this Ipod since I purchased several computers ago. How do I put the music from this Ipod into my library. It is music from CDs I own. I really don't want to have to take all that time to redo that again. Can anyone tell me how to do this. I would like to update my library with this music and update this old Ipod with new music for use in my car. It works great and does what I need it to do so I can't see tying up my new Ipod or Iphone when I want to use it in my car. I appreciate any suggestions you can give me. Thanks
Restore them to the new computer using the bakcup of the old one. If you don't have a backup of the old computer, you can re-download music purchased from the iTunes store. If they were imported from CD's, etc. You will either have to re-rip them or purchase third party software to extract them from the phone. The iPhone is not a backup or data transfer device.

My computer crashed a few months back, and I lost a significant portion of the music that was in my iTunes library. However, everything I lost is still on my iPod. Is there a way to store this music on iCloud using iTunes Match? Or can I only store the music in my iTunes library on my computer?
Have you failed to maintain a backu copy of your computer?
If so, then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod> File>Devces>Transfer Purchases -
I no longer have access to my other music. My computer crashed a month ago, and I did not have my newest music files backed-up anywhere else. I really don't want to lose that music.
I upgraded to version 5 on my IPad Wifi64 and now I can't find my music or podcasts, etc. I don't want or need to upload everything to a cloud. Does anyone know how I get to my music and stuff?
Oh...I can see the music when I connect to my computer. I'm hoping that Apple isn't acting like Microsoft and eliminating features to push people towards something they want...like access to your information...or for you to only have things you buy from them. Hopefully I'm over thinking it and there is simple answer...anyone know the answer? -
How can I remove music from my iPhone that's not on a playlist, or checked off in the Sync window in any of the possible categories (Playlist, genre, artist, etc)? HELP! It's taking up SO much space on my phone but I cannot see a way to remove any of it
If it's slow on startup it would be extensions loading or LaunchDaemons starting up.
You should have a look in:
/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/Extensions
You can count out anything in your home folder and it shouldn't put anything in /System as that's reserved for Apple. -

I have purchases on my iphone that will not transfer to itunes. Why?
Do they not copy over via File > Transfer Purchases ? I assume that the account that you bought them with is authorised on your computer's iTunes ?

Why do i have songs on my iPad that are not in my iTunes?
I have songs on my ipad that are not in my itunes music library. Why is this and how can i get them into itunes?
Thanks,
BudSteinerIf you purchased all of the songs through itunes store, please follow these steps:
1. Open up Itunes and Click on Itunes Store
2. Once you're in the Itunes Store look to right side of the screen and you should see the word "purchased". Click purchased and you'll be sent to a purchase screen.
3. Click on "All Songs" and then it will show all the songs you've downloaded. From there you just hit the button that looks like a cloud with an arrow on it, and it will download all the songs all over again.
If you didn't purchase them through Itunes, then you'll have to download software that will strip the songs from your iPod onto your computer. And here is a guide about how to transfer ipod songs. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.
