I have my home computer with all of my music, and my iPhone is found under the devices there. However, my computer is not operating correctly. I downloaded iTunes on my laptop, but I am unable to share the music between the two. I can't sync my iPhone.
My home computer is where all of my music is downloaded into iTunes, however I am having major issues with that computer. I downloaded iTunes onto my laptop and have the home sharing on, for both computers. I can not get my music on the laptop and am unable to get my iPhone to show as a device on my laptop. Can the phone connect with two different computers, and if so, how do I go about doing it? Also, please advise on how to share music on two computers.
You can sync your iPod with multiple computers, but what can be synced is very limited. See this article for more details.

hi there, i am trying to download itunes to my laptop but it keeps freezing at the same spot everytime.. i have been trying to do this for a couple of weeks but i'm not having much luck! Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this please?????
You can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:

Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from

After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else. -
my photoshop elements and Lightroom serial numbers won't work for my new mac. I bought these softwares via download on my windows laptop but returned that laptop because the quality was not great. I decided to buy a mac and now can't use my serial numbers to download the software.

Some of my albums are not in the correct order when transferred from itunes on my laptop to my ipod classic. Can anyone suggest how I can correct this please
It goes by the Track # field, as seen in on a list in iTunes. So, make sure the Track # field is correctly entered for each song when you review the album on a list in iTunes. Also, make sure the Album field is entered identically for all the songs on the album.
You can edit those fields by doing a Get Info on a song, and going to the Info windows's Info tab, -
I had a laptop, an Averatec, for almost 7 years when it crashed. The OS on that laptop was Windows XP. On that pc, I had an iTunes account, I have no idea what version it was, however, the pc crashed nearly 6 months ago, if that helps. I have just downloaded iTunes on my current laptop, a 2 year old Toshiba with Windows 7. I also have an iPad, and I just purchased an iPad2, which is why I downloaded iTunes at this time. I need it in order to sync my new iPad. My problem/question is this- I can not find any way to login in to iTunes using my old account name & password, therefore, everything that I had in my music library and all other items are no longer accessible. I can still get into the iTunes store using my Apple I.D., but that does me no good in finding the other items. As I said, I don't see where a login & password is needed for this version of iTunes, yet I definately have one that I used in the past. Am I just out of luck, or is there a way to find my previous purchases? Thanks for any assisstance. I am NOT a tech geek (I don't mean to offend), can barely send an email, so I need all the help I can get! (BTW, as I was watching the tutorials once iTunes downloaded, I paused, backed-up, played, paused, etc.; and THEY ALL quit playing on me! I'm gadget cursed.)
Copy them from your old computer, or your backuo copy of your old computer. to your new one.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. the exception is itunes purchases. -

There are some add-ons and utilities that can make this process easier. The first one is the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2109/ FEBE] add-on which can be used to copy a profile. Another option is the free [http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/ MozBackup] utility. -

I am tryong to open my business file ( a regular file but with the little arrow on the bottom left side )"the alias" and am getting this message: There was an error connecting to the server idisk.mac.com Check server name or IP address, and then try again. If you are unable to resolve the problem contact your system administrator. So I click "ok" and FINDER comes up sayiong the alias can't be opened because the original item cannot be found....
I have called for a technician to come out but they can't come until next week and I can't work. I have already tried powering down, which worked in the past to "reset" the server.
Can anyone help?
AndreanoghIt sounds like the original of that file is stored on your iDisk, a service which Apple no longer provides. Go to this page, sign in and download all of the files that are still on there.

Basically, my iphone has been in the same apple ID as my dads iphone and mac book, so my iphone has always been synced to his macbook. I bought myself a mac book the other day and want to sync my iphone to it. However i have obviously put my mac book in a different apple id as i know pay for things i download myself, how can I sync my iphone to my mac book without losing all the music and pictures on it? ive now put my iphone into my new apple id thinking this might help? ive also tried clicking 'manually manage music and video' but this doesnt seem to work, it basically says you have to erase your iphone to sync to a new itunes!

You cannot. Copy everything you want form the old computer to the new one, then sync it.

Correct Iphone will sync, or manually manage, with one and only one computer/library at a time. Syncing, or manually managing, to another will indeed erase the current content. -

I have a live login and MS ID 4 my SkyDrive account but I only use my MS touch with 8.1, SkyDrive and office 365 for mobility.
And I still like to backup to my own server!!!
What would be good is if I can put all the software licenses and product keys of the software and keep a record of my mac addresses for hardware and even static IP's in a file or a secure location within the MS online store.
That's where MS wants me to get my computing needs from in future and I will always be able to retrieve it in future but what about the $$$$$ I have spent on software, hardware and applications prior to now???

That's crap - This is a clean brand spanker install of Win7 and there was nothing b4 I put the oem drivers from Toshiba back on.
I looked at dozens of support pages and forum blogs and tried for hours to get a copy to download - including incognito and other logins but because my default PC name is also my MS Windows live ID the same error was repeated.
I keep away from the non MS sites for these things and with good reason - there were heaps of similar users with the same issue or very close to it that had downloaded from a supposed MS copy from eValue or digital river etc and the next
thing was total corruption of the OS.
EVENTUALLY I found a LIVE MS chat on a support site in the US and she gave me a link to a slightly older version which will need updating and some reg edit changes but so far, so good.
The point is - what a crock !
I should be able to just keep all my software, drivers, updates, service packs, and versions that I have upgraded in the MS store.
If Microsoft aren't going to support XP or Office 2003 and eventually 2007, vista & Windows7 not far behind??? then that's still no excuse for them to put these restrictions and limits when I OWN my copy of the software!!

iTunes should automatically open and display the following message:
