Sorry no, if you don't knnow the encrypted password, then you can't use that backjup.

Now, I understand how the backup and restore the backup features function. However, if I don't want to transfer the music that I have on iTunes to my phone, how do I avoid it? When you connect your phone and start iTunes on the left side you will see your phone listed under devices.Click on te icon next to it that looks like a battery. Click on the music button at the top and uncheck the sync music box.

Since I have the newest version of itunes, I can't back up like normally. The only way is to considilate files and then put them on an external drive which I don't have. Are there any other options? If I can't back up to a disc like I used to, can I instead just keep everything on my ipod and then if I have to get a new computer or something just download all my songs from the ipod to my new computer's itunes? Will that work? Will I still be able to keep all my songs that way?
I'm going to assume the consolidating files does not work due to hard drive space limitations.
Since you're moving to Windows 7, have you tried using the Windows files and settings transfer utility? That will move everything for you to the same location on the new computer, it also allows some control over what actually gets moved.
Alternatively, if you know the location of all of the media, it can be manually moved by copying it from the old computer to the new computer in the same location.
Also, using the Apple article on moving the library, take a slight twist on what it says. Move the iTunes library to the external drive, update the settings in iTunes to reflect the library being on the external drive, then consolodate it.
The options are endless for moving the library... it simply takes a little effort to make it happen and possibly a twist on existing "standard" methods depending on your unique situation. -

Apple cannot help you locate the original owner. If you have no way to contact him/her, and you purchased directly from the seller rather than through a site that offers buyer protection, then the iPad is useless to you and you have wasted your money. The iPad is quite probably stolen and you should turn it in to the police.
This is why it's very risky and usually unwise to purchase out of a car boot from someone you don't know.

This is so I can delete music from my ipod knowing its rated on my i-tunes so I can then see later if I want to re-add it based on its rating

Syncing to a new computer should give you the opportunity to replace the exisiting contents with the new. -
my i pod is disabled because i forgot my password, do i have to restore my i pod because i dont want to loose all my files, is there any other options?
Maybe a data recovery company can help. Otherwise you will have to erase the iPod tn order to regain use of the iPod. You can also restore from your last backup. The Disbled is a good security feature.
Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Someone tried to unlock my iPhone4 16GB black with iOS 4.1.2 until it was disabled last July 4, 2014. Is there any way i can re-enter my passcode without restoring it. I also could not connect it to my last sync NoteBook since it Memory Dumped an still cannot open it til now.

I hope there is a way to re-type my passcode.If you haven't already, restart the ipad by holding home and power for ten seconds until the apple appears.
There may be an app that is draining the battery.
Try the following:
1) Kill all apps by double-tapping the home button, then holding any app's icon until it displays the ' - ' symbol. Touch the ' - ' symbol on all apps. This stops the app.
2) Go to airplane mode to turn off wifi and 3G, if so equipped.
3) recheck the battery life by using an offline-only app, like a game, for an hour or so and see if the battery seems to last longer than before.
Typical battery life is a drain of 10% per hour. Your mileage may vary.
If the battery is lasting longer, you need to isolate what is causing the drain.
4) If still rapidly draining, try going to Settings, General, Reset, reset all settings.
5) If none of this gave you any change in the battery life, you may want to do a restore of the ipad from within itunes. -
I've tried the listed troubleshooting procedures to activate Facetime and iMessage, but no luck. Are there any other options? If it helps, I'm currently overseas and only using WiFi to connect.

The only way is to connect to iTune (computer) to restore/recover your iPad.
If you do not have a iTune or iCloud backup, data will be lost. -
My iPad has a number of documents, including pdf, xls, doc, ppt files. Some are associated with Documents to Go - Premium, which froze on the device attempting to download an update and had to be deleted (which also deleted the files that only were on the iPad and associated witht the app). How do I restore only that app and/or the related files from the iCloud. Ans I've found so far were not clear/specific enough or seemed to indicate the entire iPad had to be restored. iOS 5.1.1
Step by step
1. Erase all contents and settings
2. You'll be asked twice to confirm
3. You'll see Apple logo and progress bar
4. You'll see a big iPad logo on screen
5. Configuration start
6. Set language
7. Set country
8. Enable Location Service
9. Select network, enter password and join network
10. You'll be given 3 options (a) Setup as New iPad (b) Restore from iCloud Backup (c) Restore from iTune Backup
11. Selected Restore from iCloud Backup
12. You'll be required to enter Apple ID and Password
13. Agree to Terms and Conditions
14. Select Backup file
15. You'll see progress bar
16. Red slider will appear; slide to unlock; step #1 to #16 is fast
17. Pre-installed apps will be restored first
18. Message: Purchased apps and media will now be automatically downloaded
19. You'll see a pageful of apps with Waiting/Loading/Installing
20. Message: Some apps cannot be downloaded, please sync with computer -

Back ups can only be used to restore the phone as a whole, you cannot selectively restore from a back up.
