I have my time capsule attach to the server.app but is lost now?
when I configured my macmini server ask for attch the time capsule after a update, the TC dont apear in the server app, how ca I reconfigurate?
When you say backed up.. does that mean in a backup using a software backup utility like MSbackup.. in which case the files will not be visible to any other application. Or did you just copy the files to the TC. What format are they in?? Did you copy a WIndows Itunes library to the TC that you are trying to use via the ipad or iphone? Generally that won't work as they need an itunes server not library running.
Or what format are the files in? The iOS devices cannot even see files stored on the TC without an app like filebrowser. You then need an application that can read the file type. whatever that is.

Trying to restore after getting a new hard drive. I can see the backup on the Time Capsule and on the correct date but it is Greyed out. That is it wont let me open it and restore the machine. Have tried also Migration Assistant, no luck.

At startup hold down the Command+Option/Alt+r keys until you see a globe on the screen. Then use disk utility to partition and format the drive HSF+ and then select Reinstall Mac OS X. whatever version of OS X that originally came on your system will be installed and then you can upgrade back to Mavericks. -
I am about to purchase an iPad. I have a Time Capsule. Are the two compatable? For example, when I bring the iPad home will it automatically link to my Time Capsule so everything I have on the capsule will be downloaded to the iPad?

I have blocked a sites for view the picture. But I want now to view the picture from this sites. How do I unblock the site again???
With the site on display, click on the site identity button (for details on what that is see [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Site+Identity+Button]) and then on More Information. This will open up the page info dialog.
First select the Permissions panel, make sure that "Load Images" is set to allow (selecting Use Default should also work)
Next select the Media panel, then click on the first item in the list. Use the down arrow key to scroll through the list. If any item has the option "Block images from (domain name)" selected, de-select the option.
This should hopefully resolve your issue, but also see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Images+or+animations+do+not+show
Some add-ons can also block images, for example if you have AdBlock Plus installed, make sure that you have not accidentally created a filter to block the images. -

Time Machine Service Page in Server App says "Error Reading Settings"
I have a Mac Mini running 10.8.3.
For some reason the Time Machine Page in the Server App refuses to work properly. If I reboot the server it looks fine for about 10 minutes. It displays the backup location and the list of individual backups. Then I get this message:

Yes, but if you move the "original" data on your iMac to the Time Capsule....then the "original" data is now on the Time Capsule disk.
When...not if...the Time Capsule disk has a problem, you have no backups for this data.
Perhaps a much safer plan might be to add an external hard drive attached directly to your iMac. Then, move the data to that drive from the iMac.
Now, Time Machine will back up both your iMac and the external hard drive so you have "originals" on one drive and backups on another. Would that plan work for you? -
I have an Airport Extreme as my router and am using time capsule to extend the network in my new house. My ISP is only providing me 4-5 ip addresses and wants me to set up my router to issue out new ip addresses for all my devices.How do I fix this?Help.
They said I need to change my settings to NAT settings. I haven't been able to figure out or find anything. I have also spoken to Apple Support on the phone for hours without being able to figure out how to do this ( i don't think he knew much either lol.) Please help me because I've got about 15-20 devices in my house that require to be connected to the internet and this is just making things ridiculously slow and painful for me.

I Have two Time Capsules (1TB and 2TB) and want to set one for business and the other for family - networking seperate Macs to each.
Both should be plugged into the network with ethernet.. if at all possible.
If you have a router already then both bridged otherwise one set to router and one to bridge.
How do you access the TC? Ethernet or wireless?
Are they located in the same area?
You could set different wireless networks.. if they use wireless.. this is nice easy way to do it.
You can set user account in the TC you want the business one to join with.. that will prevent access by the family.
So there is a number of ways.. none are particularly secure btw.. the TC is a home not a business device.. if anybody wants access they press the reset for one second.. pofff all the passwords are default for 5min.. to allow people who forget their password to get access.
On ML you can encrypt TM backups.. this is better for security if that is the problem.. and still use different user profile to prevent access. -
Can anyone recommend an external storage device to supplement my mac book air? I already have a time capsule but want the new device to replicate the data on that so ideally would like a device that i can connect to the time capsule through a cable.

I'm not sure how Time Capsule can be replicated onto your external drive but there is a USB port on the back of TC that can be hooked up to any recent external drive.
Another thing to think about , besides a Time Capsule failure, is the theft of your Time Capsule, so it might be a good idea to consider separating any redundant back-up from your Time Capsule or both my be stolen.
TC will back up until full and then begin deleting the oldest back-ups. Mine is a 2TB Time capsule.
My back-up plan is as follows:
1. Macbook Air back-up on Time Capsule though Time Machine backs up everything - I think it's about every 30 min or so.
2. Contacts, reminders, appointments, notes, email are backed up through iCloud.
3. iTunes and non-itunes purchased music is on iMatch (and no need to back-up) and any non-iTunes music is backed up on an HP external drive (in case Time Capsule dies)
4. Photos are on my MacBook Air and are backed up on my HP external drive.
5. Office documents (Excel, Powerpoint, Access etc) are stored in a Skydrive app (like iCloud) and Skydrive syncs these docuemnts with the MS cloud and my old PC and does not alter their native format like storing in iCloud would do.

I have a time capsule and two air port expresses. The time capsule is in the middle of my house, the expresses equidistant in opposite directions. I would like the expresses to both connect directly to the capsule, but they are connected in serial. How to reconfigure.
I ask because I have music running out of both expresses, and the one that is most distant from the time capsule (routed through the first express) regularly drops the music signal from itunes. And I am guessing the serial configuration of the routers has something to do with this, but my root problem is music dropout - any thoughts would be appreciated.If you have the the most current model of the Express devices, the default setup is to "extend" the wireless signal. In this type of setup, each Express communicates directly to the Time Capsule.
How did you setup the AirPort Express devices?
What version of the Mac operating system are you using on your MacBook? Or, do you have AirPort Utility installed on your iPad? -
After a near miss with my 4-year old MacBook, I finally wised up and purchased a WD My Passport for Mac to back up my hard drive. I connected the Passport today and have performed the first full backup. However, I do not wish to keep it permanently connected to the laptop. Does this create a problem if I only connect the drive every few days? Should I have purchased Time Capsule instead?

I don't think it'll cause a problem, but I'd disable/turn off Time Machine before disconnecting, then turn it back on after you connect it again. -
