I have never used a BT and want to get one for  my car...

....I'm hesitant because I read about so many problems that are stumping folks far more knowledgable than I.  I was going to ask about which moderately priced BT device might pair well w/ my new 4s.

I'm using this bluetooth earpiece for iphone4, works great. And it seems to pair with iphone 4s too.

  • Have a used iBook G4 and want to run ROBLOX for my grandson. Help

I purchased a used iBook G4 for my grandson for Christmas and he loves to play ROBLOX. Since it included Microsoft Office 08, Adobe Photoshop CS3, Apple ilife (iMovie HD, iPhoto, Garageband, iDVD), I thought it would be fine.
Now I find out that I need instructions on how to upgrade the mac osx 10.4.1 to the current os for mac ibook. Or we need at least version 10.6.6 in order to run roblox on the ibook. I downloaded version 10.4.2 update to try the long route of updating per update which is probably the way we have to go but not sure and it said that it was unable to run based on the current volume? Maybe not enough space to install? Any thoughts? Please help me figure out my options here.

You can only use it through the website; an iBook G4 can't be upgraded past 10.5.8.

  • TS3297 iTunes puts up a message "The item you've requested is not currently available in the Hong Kong Store." I had not requested anything from the HK store at that point, and I have never used any store other than the HK one. How I can clear that messag

I've been running iTunes on WinXP for years with few problems.  I have all my iTunes files on an external USB drive. I just bought a new PC running Win7, 64-bit.
I connected the external USB drive to the new PC and installed 64-bit iTunes on it. When iTunes started up, I pointed it at the iTunes directory in the external drive, using Edit > Preferences > Advanced > iTunes Media Folder Location. It showed a progress bar that it was updating the iTunes Library. I signed in and authorized the new machine. I have one spare authorization.
Then iTunes put up a message "The item you've requested is not currently available in the Hong Kong Store." I had not requested anything from the HK store at that point, and I have never used any store other than the HK one.
When I click OK, the iTunes Store page remains blank, apart from saying "iTunes Store" in the middle of the page.
I went to "View My Account" and pressed the Reset button to "Reset all warnings for buying and downloading items", but that doesn’t fix this particular warning. I also tried Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Reset Warnings and Rest Cache.
But still, every time I click the “App Store” button in the iTunes Store window, the message appears. If I click the Books, Podcasts or iTunesU buttons, these display normally.  So I’m stuck with being unable to purchase apps, other than through my iPad and iPhone.
If I move the external drive back to the XP machine, the same thing happens.  If I go to another PC - a notebook running Vista - everything is normal.
Any idea how I can clear that message?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Further info on my question above.
I have tried re-validating my credit card, which apparently fixed it for some.
I have also tried uninstalling, re-downloading and installing again.
Neither of these steps fixed the problem.

I have version 10.6.8 and want to get icloud.  How do I do that? Can I also upgrade to the lion?

Open the Mac App Store and try purchasing Mountain Lion 10.8. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) or better CPU with at least 2GB of RAM, and if it does, phone the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion 10.7.

I am a novice. I have a few thousand iPhotos stored on Dropbox. But now I have a Canon T5i camera and want to get more involved in photography. I want to open a Lightroom and Photoshop account. I have a Windows desktop and an iPad. Will I have any compatibility issues with PC and Mac? Can I store my photos in Lightroom and eliminate my Dropbox account? Thanks.

You shouldn't have any compatibility issues. But you don't store images "in" Lightroom. Lightroom simply points to wherever the images are on your system. You might like to watch a few videos that can help you understand how Lightroom works.

  • How much would I have to pay monthly if I want to get financing for a MacBook?

How much would I have to pay monthly if I want to get financing for a MacBook Pro?

It would all depend on if you have sufficient credit to get approved in the first place (Barclays are kind of hard on folks!) and how long you plan to finance (6, 12 or 18 months).
You'll just have to get in touch with Apple's financing folks...

Hi, I'm 14 years of age girl with no credit card and I just want to download free apps help!!'

Why can’t I select None when I edit my payment information?
Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

I am trying to use photo stream and have an apple id but it just tells me it doesn't work for icloud, but doens't say how to get one.

Make sure you are checking the primary email address for the Apple ID you are using for your iCloud account.  If you are and it still isn't there, try resending it by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address.

  • I have Safari 5.1.10 and want to get the newer version.  This may be a dumb question, but do I have to pay to get an upgrade, or is this just a software update.  I am not very technical.  Please advise!

I have a Mac OS X, version 10.6.8, and I am using safari 5.1.10.  I think I need to get a newer version of Safari if this is possible.
How do I go about doing this?  Do I have to purchase a different "safari" product?
I'm obviously not very technical, and don't know how to proceed!  The reason I want to change this is because
I keep getting messages saying that my web brower (isn't that what safari is?) is out of date.  Please advise!

For you it requires an upgrade of OS X. Since you have 10.6.8 installed you can upgrade directly to Yosemite for free provided your hardware meets the requirements:
    Upgrading to Yosemite
You can upgrade to Yosemite from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Yosemite can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
To upgrade to Yosemite you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Yosemite from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Yosemite is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
        OS X Mavericks/Yosemite - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Yosemite
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.

How can I delete an extra Apple ID ?
I just want to have one only for my Iphone and for my Mac.
    Thank you for any advice.

I went to the Apple support site last nite for a live chat.
    The tech there suggested 2 separate actions;
    Here they are, verbatum;
    # 1
    Go to,
    Store-ID-sign out
    #2
Change the password to a random string of numbers and letters and set up the other account on both services.
    So...
That's it. Neither suggestion worked for me so I'm going up to the apple store in Century City and see if one of the geniuses can straighten me out.

  • I have a PowerBook G4 PPC and want to get it running like new.

I have a PowerBook G4 that I bought new years ago. It still works and I use it as a print server for an old Laser Writer Pro 630. It has old drawing software like MacroMedia Freehand MX and Bryce that I still use, but can't on my new machines. I'd like to go through the PowerBook and remove software that's not needed and get ride of all the associated parts. Streamline it if you will. I'm sure there's stuff running in the background that I don't need that makes it run slow. Is there some way to do that?

The big problem is a lot of web applications don't run on Powermacs.    If you are willing to live with limited Java and Flash, turning those off, or using Tenfourfox as a web browser can take a load off your Mac.    Keeping your hard drive less than 85% full also helps.   For other tips, please feel free to subscribe to my tip*:

  • How to see other events that have clips used in project and not just reference event for a project

In 10.0.9 if you selected a project and then looked at info tab in the inspector you could see the reference event and all events that had used clips in the project. In 10.1 you only see the reference event. So how do you see other events in the library that the project uses clips from?

I see. Yes, that probably should be improved. They removed the function that displayed the used events.
Open the project. Select the library. In the browser in list view, which shows the events in order, select everything. Press right-arrow to open the disclosure triangles. Scroll the list to see what's marked used where. Not great.

  • I have an 11" MacBook Air and want to get a higher capacity storage hard drive. Where can I buy it? Who can install it?

Looking to increase my hard drive storage. I have a mid-2011 MacBook Air 11", 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5, 2 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, Intel HD Graphics 3000 288 MB
Where can I find a larger, durable hard drive. I have maxxed-out my MacBook Air! Does the Apple Store install them?

macbook Air is a "working platform" computer, not meant for mass storage.
You can get a 1TB Toshiba external slim USB HD for $65
The Hitachi/Toshiba 2.5" are the most durable conventional external HD available.

i have several calendars in my outlook.  the one that used to sync to my iphone no longer does and doesnt show on the phone anymore.

I forgot to say that the duplicate entries return after I have deleted them. Strange to me is why do some contacts show up as many as 14 times. I am suspecting that there could be an issue with iCloud or iTunes. Truly a mystery to me for now.
