I have no clue what is wrong with my iPod touch...please help.

At first I thought it was my battery and now I dont know? I have had it since Dec 10, 2010. I can get the opening screen and the apple comes up on the screen and then it jus shuts off. Its a 32gb 3rd generation. I would really appreciate it if someone could help:)

Edit: thanks for cross-posting this question on another forum. I now see that I wasted my time trying to study your code in the java-forums to help you with an answer that had already been answered elsewhere (here). Do you realize that we are volunteers, that our time is as valuable as yours? Apparently not. Cross-post again and many here will not help you again. I know that I won't.

  • What's wrong with my ipod touch 4g?

Hello, I am a student who is using MacBook Pro and iPod Touch 4G (32GB)
To jump to the topic, my liquid crystal of my iPod is broken. No, it's better to say, CRASHED.
I bought a new protecting film and case for my iPod, and i sticked and covered it.
Suddenly, the top left corner of my iPod just crashed. I was holding the player with my finger, and it just crashed.
So, what's wrong with my iPod? I'm pretty sure that it was not my fault. All I did was just holding the iPod with my two fingers and trying to fit the case.
Next, is there going to be any problem that will occur when I use this?
I am in China right now, and there are no Apple Store near the place I live. If I want to go, I have to drive there for 3-4 hours. I don't have that much time just fixing iPod. I am going back to Korea in July 2012. So, I'm thinking of just keeping my Pod in this condition until I go back to Korea. But, I'm not sure if there are going to be any problem while I am using this.
I hope the answer will come very quick, thank you.
p.s. I just started learning English, and my English is not that good...:p
p.s. 2 I bought my iPod last year April 2011.

Apple does not repair iPods, but will replace the entire iPod for a flat fee; see the Repair Pricing section here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/faq/
There are independent iPod repair services that may be able to replace the screen for less. Do a web search for "ipod repair".
Note, though, that there is no liquid in an LCD that can leak. That's a myth.
    Regards.

  • What is wrong with my ipod touch 2nd gen?

Ive had this iPod since mid 2010. It's running iOS 4.2.1 and it's not jailbroken. A few months ago I encountered a problem with it. It started to fast forward my songs and pause them and skip them as if it had a mind of it's own. I thought it was a one off and it never really happened after that. Yesterday something happened to it which forced it into recovery mode and I had to restore it to factory settings. Today I added some new songs onto it and I starte listening and all I could hear was music and no singing, then I could faintly hear the singing. I thought there was something wrong with the song so I changed it and it was the same with the next one. I've tried 3 different sets of heaphones which all work on other devices so it's not the headphones. So my iPod has kind of turned into a karaoke machine but with some songs it works ok for a while but then messes up. Also I've noticed that the fastforwarding thing has become much much worse after I restored it.
I'm really stuck. What should I do? Everything else works fine on it. All my apps are ok. Just the music player is stuffed. Could the headphone jack be broken? It worked fine yesterday before I restored it. Should I restore it again? I've already tried restarting and resetting it and neither of them worked. Also I don't have much space left on it, should I take off the movie that ive got on it? Maybe the memory is kind of choked up as well? Thanks for any help guys. As I said pretty much everything works fine on it and I'm trying to not buy a new iPod if I can help it. Oh and sometimes when I'm typing and press the backspace button once or twice it goes and deletes everything on it's own. Things run slow-ish as well. Anyway to improve that?
Oh and may I also add when I can hear the singing in the songs sometimes it's normal, sometimes it sounds like they're singing underwater, sometimes it sounds like they're singing live, sometimes it sounds like they're robots...it's not how the songs are meant to sound. They didn't sound like that before and they don't sound like that on my laptop. There's something wrong with my iPod but idk if it's the headphone jack or a software/hardware problem. :/ :(

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

  • What's wrong with my iPod Touch 4?

Okay, so something's wrong with my iPod. I had other two issues, well, I still have, that led to this problem. My iPod wont turn sideways, even though the Portrait orientation isn't on, and an "Undo Typing" popup keeps appearing on my screen even though I'm not shaking the iPod.
It would be nice if I got help with that, too?
But, the main problem is this: While trying to fix those two problems, I "Reset All Settings" in hopes that it'll get fixed. Unfortunately, I just ended up with another problem. After I re-entered the password to the wifi, I went to Skype. I called my best friend, and after about a minute, the wifi left, causing the call to drop. After a few seconds of the call dropping, I decided to call back, thinking it was a one-time thing. Again, the wifi left and the call dropped. It's not only happening with Skype, either. It's happening with wifi-using apps, FaceTime, and Safari. The wifi leaves and comes back. Is there any way to fix this?

Not looking good. You may have a hardware problem

I'm trying to sort a dynamically created JComboBox into Alphabetical order. However, the class below is the result of my coding and there is a problem. the code can sort only two(2) item in the JComboBox and no more which is wrong. I do not know where i'm going wrong in the selectionSort(JComboBox cmb) method. the getLargest(JComboBox cmb) method works perfectly because i have tried it. Can somebody please take a look at my codes and help me modify it.

I beleive what is wrong is that your getLargest method returns the largest to your selection sort. The selectionSort places the largest at the end.On the next iteration it finds the largest again. this time at the end where you put it.Now it just does the same thing over again placing the same item at the end until the loop runs out. What you are left with is only one item it the right spot(sometimes 2).I could not get it to work the way you had it here so I tried a rewrite. It seems to work ok but it won't sort two words that start with the same letter properly. You may have to insert an algorithm to fix this.I got rid of the getLargest method and did everything in the selectionSort method.I used what I think is called a bubble sort but I'm not sure.

  • What's wrong with my iPod Touch? (Touches buttons by it's self)

A friend gave me this iPod touch 3g with a minor crack in the screen (nothing major). Everything was fine and dandy until I downloaded two apps (Mangastorm and mangabox). Now, my iPod touches buttons by itself. For example I'd hover my hand over a button and it'll hit the key next to what I intended on pressing and so many other random buttons. • What is wrong with my iPod Touch?

I have had a 4th generation iPod Touch for about a year now, and just recently, it's been crashing multiple apps quite a bit. I'm not sure what the problem is, but usually it will open for a few seconds, and if it is an app that loads, it will usually crash around that point. This doesn't occur with all apps, per say, but it happens with a lot of them. It also seems to crash a lot when I use Safari, which it did not used to do. Does anyone have any answers? If you need more details, please ask me.

    Try to Reset your device:
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off option that shows up first).
If this doesn't help, you might need to Restore it.

  • What is wrong with the ipod touch 4th gen battery?

I have an 8gb 4th gen ipod touch that I purchased in December 2011. I charged it completely last night after doing a full reset, and by morning the battery was only at half charge. I've turned off all unnecessary services, no apps were running, no music/video play, just in sleep mode. Still the battery drained down at least 50%.
Is anyone else experiencing these problems? Have you found a way to extend the battery charge?

    Try this:
iPod: How to extend battery life
You did not say if the iPod was in airplane mode.  That helps a lot.  With iOD 5, the battery does drain faster than before.

  • What is wrong with my ipod touch 4g if my apps take forever to download

Hello . I have the iPod touch 4g Black so i downloaded a app (galaxyfx) and now it has been an hour and it still hasnt downloaded. All it says its Waiting... what should i do?

Check your internet connection. That is most likely the problem for it taking so long to download.

  • Seriously, what is wrong with my ipod touch 5th???

okay, so I bought ipod touch 5th generation (red) in online site and I had it for almost 10 months.
I was in a public library and I needed to use a wifi. So I searched wifi in my ipod and one site popped open that says I need to submit ip to use wifi. I didn't want to, so I just didn't use it. I closed that site and returned to my home to do some searching. And here is my problem. Just one site, ONE, connects not to that site but the site that is the same that popped open in the library. It is so confusing because my home wifi works just fine at other searching site, but just one. I tried everything, I restarted my ipod, even I reset network settings, but still, the same site that says submit ip to use wifi comes up and it drives me crazy. Plz everyone, if you have solution to this problem, help me!!

Go to Settings>Safari and Clear History Cookies and Data
Next would be to go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. You will have to rejoin all wifi networks
