  • Why can't I find file,edit, view favorites, tools and help features?

    I downloaded firefox, but I can't see file,edit,veiw, favorites or tools. Why can I not see these items? and why does firefox crash so many times?

    To restore the menu bar see [[menu bar is missing]].
    For it crashing, the [[Firefox crashes]] article is a good starting place. If it submits crash reports to Mozilla, can you post some of the crash report IDs (the link above shows how to find them). The crash report IDs may help somebody identify the cause for your crashes.

  • When I open Firefox there is absolutely no toolbar at the top. No 'File' 'Edit' 'View' 'Favorites' 'Tools' 'Help' buttons, no anything. Any idea's??

    When I open Firefox there is no toolbar at all. I have tried deleting and then re-downloading it, but when I click on the icon on my desktop, all that comes up is a page that says "Widgets, Gadgets, RSS feeds, and more." There is no search box to surf the web, there is nothing.

    In Firefox 3.6 on Windows you can hide the menu bar via "View > Toolbars" or via the right click context menu on a toolbar.
    Press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the menu bar.
    Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the menu bar or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide.

  • How do I expose my toolbar on Firefox? It used to be visable but suddenly vanished. It's the one at the top which displays buttons for FILES EDIT VIEW FAVORITES TOOLS & HELP...I just need to access these items...Thank you

    I had had the toolbar across the top of my screen visable. Suddenly it dissappeared, perhps from inadvertantly hitting some unknown button. I have tried to restore the toolbar but cannot figure out how. The toolbar contains all of my bookmarks, tools, etc. which I am now unable to access. Can u help me??? thanks...Mike Swanson

    For details of how to restore it, see the [[menu bar is missing]] article.

  • The tool bar at the top disappeared (file, edit, view, favorites, tools etc). How do I get it back?

    I even loaded the beta4 version to see if that would shake the apple out of the tree, and no luck. There appears to be no tab/button anywhere on the screen to bring it back

    Be careful with using the Firefox 4 beta version on your current Firefox 3.6 profile folder as it can modify (upgrade) files and make them incompatible with Firefox 3.6 or can otherwise cause problems at a later time.
    In Firefox 3.6 and later on Windows you can hide the "Menu Bar" via "View > Toolbars" or via the right-click context menu on a toolbar.
    Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
    Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the "Menu Bar" or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).

  • I recently lost the capability to "view" the "File, Edit, History bookmarks, tools & help" bar from the top of my screen, as well as the "Start" button on the bottom of the screen.

    How do I get the "File, Edit, History, Bookmarks, Tools & Help Bar to appear on my browser. I also need my "Previous Page & Next Page" arrow... and my "Start" button to appear at the bottom of my screen. I can't navigate without these.

    Be sure you are not in Full Screen Mode. The F11 key will toggle Full Screen Mode on or off. If you have no Firefox toolbars, tab bar, etc., you are probably in Full Screen Mode; your Windows Taskbar (with the "Start" button) will also not be visible.

    *Be sure that "Auto-hide the taskbar" is '''''not checked''''' (if checked, moving the cursor pointer to the bottom of your monitor screen will cause it to slide up; it will disappear again when the cursor pointer is moved up from the bottom
    *It is best to '''check''' "Keep the taskbar on top of other windows" so that application windows like Firefox cannot cover it.

  • I am missing the back button,file,edit,viewhistory,bookmarks, tools, help line on mozilla. Where did go& can I get it back?

    I have had mozilla on my desktop for 2 months. Last week I lost the arrows to go back, file,edit,viewhistory,bookmarks,tools,help on the open page. I tried the f11 button. I can't navigate without the address bar. Any help would be appreciated.

  • I can't restore my file,edit,history,bookmarks,tools and help

    my file,edit,history,bookmarks,tools and help is missing

    Hit the '''Alt''' key ''(Cmd for Mac)'' to show the Menu bar, then open View > Toolbars and select Menu bar, so it has a check-mark.

  • The File/edit/view/history/tools/help bar and the Back/refresh/and home buttons that used to be on the top left of the screen are no longer there. I want them back

    I don't know what I did, maybe download a more recent version of firefox, but I no longer have any of the file/edit/view/history/bookmarks/tools/help bar on upper left hand of the screen.
    I also lost the BACK button the refresh or undo button and the home button.
    where did they go and how do I get them back?
    Thanks
    Jim F

    Aha! I found the "refresh" button at the end of the place where I enter the URL. don't know where "home" is yet, but my home page has mysteriously appeared in the tool bar above the URL.

  • All versions of firefox software updates since 3.5.6 have the file,edit,view, history, bookmars,tools, help line missing on the startup page when i load new versions. I have to go back to version3.5.6 in order to get those items on my start page.

    I use windows basic vista. I don't have any additional info. I use firefox w/o using any add-on's.

    Firefox 3.6+ versions have a feature to allow the user to hide the Menu bar.
    Hit the '''Alt''' key to temporarily show the Menu bar, then open View > Toolbars and select Menu bar, so it has a check-mark. <br />
    The F10 can also be used on most PC's to temporarily reveal the Menu bar.

  • How can i move the "File" "Edit" "History" "Bookmarks" "Tools" menus to the right side of the Firefox window instead of having them on the left side?

    The Customize feature doesn't support this action.

    You want to slide the contents of the menu bar all the way to the right?
    You could do this with a style rule, either in a userChrome.css file or using the Stylish extension. Here's a sample rule:
    @namespace url(http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul);
    #toolbar-menubar {
    position:relative !important;
    #menubar-items {
    position:absolute !important; right:0; top:0;

  • My menu bar is missing all of a sudden. How do I reinstall it? The one that has "File, Edit, View, Favorites, etc". Thank you.

    The top bar is the one w/ refresh, X, home then the bar to type in websites. The menu bar used to be below that, now it's gone and I have a bar that says, "Most visited, Free Hotmail & Windows."
    I had several sights saved in my favorites for my home based business and I can't get to them now. Thank you.
