I have no "Firefox" button at the top of my screen. ???

Ever since I downloaded the new Firefox, I have been frustrated. Now I discover that the reason I can't find my bookmarks is because they are "hidden." Unfortunately, in order to resolve this, I need to begin by clicking on the "Firefox" button at the top of the page. From what I can tell, this is an orange button which should be located at the top, left corner of the screen. I don't have one.
I have re-downloaded the program - nothing; and I am using Windows 7.
Please help.

If you customized your toolbars in an earlier version, the installer might have left you with the classic menu bar rather than the new abbreviated menus.
To switch, use View menu > Toolbars > Menu Bar
Once you have the orange Firefox button, you can tap the Alt key or press F10 to display the classic menu bar temporarily.

  • I do not have the Firefox button at the top of my screen.

I do not have the Firefox button at the top of my screen, so cannot use any of the functions it controls. I do have the round Firefox symbol, but when I either right-click or left-click it, I get only the menu for mazimizing, minimizing or closing the application. I cannot find any information on the Mozuilla website about how to fix this problem, and would appreciate any advice I can get. My operating system is Windows 7 Professional. Thanks.

You probably have your Menu Bar activated. I think you can use one or the other. To activate your Orange Firefox favicon, right-click at the top blank portion of the browser (next to your tabs) and uncheck the Menu Bar option. Hope this helps.

  • I am trying to load Firefox Sync but I do not have a Firefox button at the top of my page. How do I get to options?

I want to load current bookmarks to a new computer and then have those bookmarks available on multiple computers. I've read the tutorial on Firefox Sync, but I do not see a Firefox button on my page. How do I get to options?

Never mind. Found it. I did not have my menu toolbar clicked when I installed the new version.

  • I upgraded to 4.0, but I don't have a Firefox button at the top of my browser, I have the standard links (File, Edit, etc.)

After I upgraded to 4.0, I expected to see the new Firefox button on top of the browser; it simply isn't there and I can't figure out why.

To get new UI you need to hide the menu bar. To do that in the View menu select Toolbars, then click on the "Menu Bar" entry.
If you need access to the menus you can press either Alt or F10 to temporarily display them.

  • I have Firefox web browser but I have lost the click on Firefox " button" at the top of the monitor screen and can't get it back. How do I do that?

I have Mozilla Firefox as my web browser. However I have just lost my Firefox "button" on the top of my monitor screen and can't get it back. How do I do that?

Hello andytuveson, right-click on an empty section of the Tab Strip and uncheck Menu Bar in the pop-up menu.

  • I do not have the Firefox button in the top left hand corner as shown in the welcome video. This button seems paramount to carry out many of the features. How do I get it?

In the welcome video there is an orange Firefox button in the top left hand corner - I do not have one. This button appears to be central to the use of Firefox.

The Firefox Button acts as an alternative to the regular menubar (File, Edit, View etc.), so if you can see the menu bar you're not missing any functionality.
On Windows XP the default is for the menubar to be shown instead of the Firefox button, but you can switch between the button and the menubar via the View -> Toolbars -> Menu bar option.
With the Button enabled, you can access the regular menubar by pressing the Alt key.

  • Just downloaded firefox 4.0, and the firefox button at the top of the page has completely disappeared - how do I get it back?!

I clicked on the "Firefox" button at the top and then clicked on fullscreen and the Firefox button disappeared - can't figure out how to get out of fullscreen. Tried "alt" already. Thanks!

Thanks for the response. I figured out the answer - it is to click on the resize button at the top right!
Holding the mouse pointer at the top edge brings back the tabs, I find escape doesn't do anything when in fullscreen.
    Cheers, Mike

  • I have two rotating arrows at the top of my screen next to the 3G symbol. Does anyone know how to turn this off b/c it is using all of my battery life? This started after the iOS 5 update.

I have two rotating arrows at the top of my screen next to the 3G symbol. This happened after the iOS 5 update. Does anyone know what it is and how I get it off, it is draining my battery?

At first read, I also thought it sounded a bit snide.  Who here has read the entire manual before going to the web for a quick search? (Not me, and in fact, I found my answer - to this very question, by reading this post WAY faster than if I had read the manual.  What is so wrong with that?)
That is the beauty of having support forums.  If it is a bother to answer, without being snide, one is not obligated to do so.  And my apologies if he was not being snide... but there maybe a better way to point out the manual, such as "I have included a link to the searchable manual which may be of assistance to you next time you are puzzled by your iPhone's behaviour".
    Just my 2¢.

  • I do not have the firefox button at the top of the page. What do I do?

When I go on the internet, at the top of the page there is not an orange button that says firefox. What do I do to get the button at the top?

You seem to be in Full Screen Mode. Click "Exit Full Screen Mode" or use the F11 key on your keyboard to toggle Full Screen Mode on and off.

  • There is no longer a firefox button on the top left side of my page. ??? What can I do to get it back.

I need the firefox button to check options. Want change default page now. BUT I can't because I don't have the firefox button. I don't know why it left or how to recover it. Please give me some suggestions.

You can see the Firefox button when the menu bar is hidden. In the View menu select Toolbars, then UNselect the Menu Bar item to hide the menu bar.

I have a windows os and am using a pc and I am computer illeterate.
The demo's show a "FIREFOX BUTTON" in orange at the top of th escreen and this is NOT on my version of Firefox 4.0 how do I get it ?
    Also
I want to be able to open multiple version of th esame page, can I turn off the feature that stops that from happening. This is VERY VERY useful when you have a page freeze. (like yahoo), I open new page of same page (mail lfor instance) then after I am sure it functions I close the frozen one and keep going.

You can use Firefox > Options and place a check mark on the Menu bar. If the menu bar is visible then you do not get the orange Firefox button.

  • Can you tell me where the Firefox button at the top of the Firefox window is?

I am trying to automatically clear my browser history, but I have no idea where the Firefox button is.

Do you have the menu bar with names like File and Edit visible?
You get the orange Firefox menu button if the menu bar is hidden.

  • I do not have that "Firefox Tab" in the top left corner of my browser like it is shown in the video. Why is my version of 4.0 different than the demo version?

After watching the demo video today, I noticed that my browser does not look like the one depicted in the video. For instance, there is no "Firefox" tab in the upper left corner like on the video.

The new interface is only default on Windows Vista and Windows 7. To get it on Windows XP you need to hide the menu bar. To do that in the View menu select Toolbars, then click on the "Menu Bar" entry.
If you need access to the menus you can press either Alt or F10 to temporarily display them.

  • I need to add a website to the sites which are allowed to install add-ons & have instructions to do so but do not have a yellow bar across the top of my screen in order to click on "Edit Options."

I tried to install an update for Adobe Reader but Mozilla Firefox will not install it until I add them to the Allowed List. The first step is to click on "Edit Options" in the yellow bar across the top, but i don't have a yellow bar or actually anything that says Edit Options.
== I needed to install an update for Adobe Reader

The instructions on the Adobe site are outdated and do no longer apply to current Firefox versions and you can ignore those instructions and save the Adobe installer to your desktop and start the installation with a double-click on that file.
See [[How do I edit options to add Adobe to the list of allowed sites]]

i have downloaded the newest version of firefox on my work computer... the new firefox button in the top left corner does not appear... how do i get it ??? ....i have firefox on all other (home) computers & its there on all of them !!!
    firefox is awesome !!!!!

You see the orange (on Linux gray) Firefox button if the Menu Bar is hidden (View > Toolbars > Customize or right-click a toolbar).
You can hide or make the Menu bar visible via View > Toolbars, also accessible via Firefox > Options.
If you need to access the hidden Menu bar then press F10 or tap the Alt key to make the Menu Bar appear temporarily.
