I have no idea what i have done to this ipod

I have a 20g fourth generation iPod that just doesn't like me
i bought it off a friend who upgraded to a touch recently
firstly it came up with a sad ipod icon
after connecting it to the computer and various 'rubbing' techniques it came up with an exclamation point and and folder i turned it on again and it decided to work after 1 month of not working. Now when i connect it to the computer windows recognises it but it freezes itunes and is not picked up by itunes when i insert it into the computer it comes up with an autoplay window which leads me to beleive that it is in disk mode but any help with it would be great
ive installed the lastest software and it is still not working

If this did not work, your iPod may have corrupted or missing software. Restore your iPod. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983
If it's still not working, iTunes may need to be reinstalled or the iPod's software installed on your computer. Locate the iPod's software disc that came with it and install the software. If you don't have the disc, I will try to locate a software download from the internet.

Since upgrading to OS X Mavericks I have not been able to work on any MS Word tracked changes documents (works fine if no tracked changes or comments in the doc). Every time upon opening such a word file with tr.changes the word processor closes / crashes.
What can be done in this case?

I just discovered that by turning off in tracked changes balloons in Word preferences prevents the software from crashing, but from then on I need to use only the review pane.

Now first i have to parse this xml ..then my java program is going to accept value from user ..and depending on user specified value i've to use either ATO or FIX fields...e.g if user value is 35 then my program should use fields within ATO node.
what should be done for this ..
and what if i change values in my xml file..will i have to restart my application to load xml again ?

The only thing we as consumers can do is try to setup monitors on our own and funnel our internet traffic through those devices/applications. With a monitor in place there is a better chance that you can identify leaks and stop them before it makes it to your bill.
Keep in mind that data usage has nothing to do with what you are intentionally doing on the internet. Data usage relates to what is actually happening behind the scenes. If you, your neighbor, your dog or your toaster is online and consuming internet through your VZW device then VZW will hold you accountable for it. Its similar to a hose that you turn on in your yard, a utility company doesn't care who did it, they only care that they sent XYZ gallons of water to your residence. What worked well on your previous provider may not work well on VZW resulting in retries and increased usage for the same actions.
Don't get too hung up on the timestamps that VZW offers you in their alerts or reports. There are all sorts of examples where billing is delayed for various reasons. Use the timestamps as a clue, not as actual evidence that can be relied on during your investigation.

hello everyone,
this is my first post here, i have visited a few times but never felt the urge to join until now because i fear that i have done something to my laptop, and i'm not sure what it is...so i am turning to you guys here for some answers/advice.
this past weekend i brought my laptop on a vacation with me, just for playing music from itunes with it. at night i would leave the laptop closed without any power cord engaged in it, then in the morning or afternoon, i would open it back up and let it charge when i wanted to listen to music again.
before i go any further i would like to note that i did spill some water (NOT a lot) on the right side of my keyboard and immediately absorbed it with a towel. following, i continued use and the laptop worked fine, until...
yesterday when i arrived home from my short vacation i opened up my laptop and plugged in the charger and also plugged it into the laptop, when i went to use my laptop i noticed that i could type on the keyboard, but only the keys on the left side would register. if i wanted to type a word that had keys on the right side of the keyboard the SECONDARY little corner character on that key would register - rather than the letter. so for example, if i wanted to type a word with the letter "k" in it, really the "2" would register - rather than the "k". -- i did not have "num lock" on, and i also went into my control panel and reset my keyboard and mouse/trackpad settings to their default settings.
this did not work and i ended up restarting my computer about 6-7 times yesterday after pressing a bunch of combinations of option, fn, control, and command keys, and searching the internet. finally, after one of the last restarts the computer started acting normal again for a bit, with the exception of me not being apple to command-Q out of any programs, but only on the left command key, the right command key works/worked fine.
just a few minutes ago the computer started doing the same thing, and i am not sure what happened or is happening to my computer but i would like to know what i have done or is going on before i lose all my information. during this whole keyboard process my mouse/trackpad would respond and work about 75% of the time. whenever i went to click something with the large mouse button below the trackpad, it's as-if i am "right clicking" and i can't escape it.
i would also like to add that the shift key does not work on the left side of the keyboard right now, and when i went to add three songs into itunes earlier today, itunes did not automatically add them in from my download program as it usually does...
so i would just like to know what could be causing all these problems? did i hit some kind of combination of keys that puts me into some alternate keyboard mode? i have spilled water and other drinks on my laptop before and nothing has happened, and it has been either a comparable amount - or more prior to this accident. it was really just a few drops...but i figure it is worth mentioning because the timing of these events falls at such a "convenient" time for these problems to be happening with my laptop.

HT202213 I have done all this but i am not seeing my Itune library on my Apple TV

I have itunes in Germany and can see various Movie and TV channels on the Itunes that i am using on my PC.
I purchased some documentary from that itunes and they also show in the Itunes in the PC.
I also put homesharing and it shows correctly on the vertical bar on the left side of itunes.
However, I cannot access my itune library from my Apple-tv, despite of many many attempts. Oddly enough, the music shows in the music folder but not the pictures nor the movies that i bought in itunes.
I also cannot see the TV channels that i have on the german Itunes in the apple Tv. There is no icon for tv channels , even though they are in itunes under the same id and password.
I have looked everywhere but there is no guidance on this issue whatsoever.
Any idea what I may be doing wrong?

If Firewall is on in Mac OS X (in the Sharing pane of System Preferences), make sure iTunes Music Sharing is selected. This worked for me. Although I have not seen this answer posted in the support community forums, so far, it is listed as No. 2.2 under TIPS in the troubleshooting guide http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1453.

trying to change the email addy on icloud for my nephews ipod touch. ready to throw it out the door. Keeps telling me "can not sign in. The maximum number of free accounts have been activated on this ipod touch" what does that mean? and how do I delete all of that?

It means that you won't be able to create a new iCloud account on that iPod as the maximum number of accounts have already been created. You also can't delete an existing one to allow you to create another.
Your only options are to either re-use one of the accounts previously created or create a new account using another iOS device or Mac (running OS X Lion or Mountain Lion), if you have one.

When I turn on the iPod, it says "iPod is disabled." I have never plugged this iPod into my computer and no longer have the computer I used before. Also the power button (Located at the top of the iPod) is broken. All I need to do is completely restore it

I am not sure on what to do at this point. I have gotten rid of my old computer, I had used to sync my iPod, and to add to that.. The back button broke! I have tried everything from jailbreaking techniques, to just plugging it in to my new computer and trying to sync it. When I plug it in, and error message comes up on iTunes saying, "You cannot acces iTunes with this iPod, because it is locked with a passcode." My friends locked me out, changed the passcode, and nobody remembers it. Help would be greatly appriciated! What can be done about this outrageous bill??!

Ok, here's some back story; My girlfriend and I were on the same plan for about a year or so. Here recently we broke up and she continued on the plan for about another month while we were working out some money issues. During that time (not having any Wifi at her house) she constantly watched shows and such on her phone, which sky rocketed the phone bill into it's 70th overage allowance!!! Her line ended up using a total of 80 gigs while mine only used about 5, which is normal. I kicked her off immediately and had her accept responsibility for her own line. I know, I should of done it earlier, but it was a different situation then. Lesson learned I guess.
When that happened, it obviously started a fresh new plan for her and I was stuck with a $1,400 bill! I asked Verizon (customer reps, hadn't spoken to any "supervisors" yet) if there was anything that could be done as far as her taking responsibility for her part of the bill. The obvious answer was no, simply because I'm the account owner and it's my responsibility, which I think is absolutely ridiculous! I'm not the one sitting her ringing up a bill that high. She did it on her line, it's her responsibility! That should follow her over to her account, and she should be liable for paying for the charges she rung up! That would be fair, right?? The way they have it set up now isn't in any way, shape or form fair. When asking about how much time I'd have to pay it, I was told they could only push it out a couple of days. I don't make anywhere near that much in such a short time, let alone with having other bills to pay and everything, and they expect you to just cough it over that quick!
I'm on here to see if there's anything at all that can be done about this stupidly high bill, or if any Verizon associates here might be able to help. If not, I'll take my number and go to another carrier. This is ridiculous and I'm not at all happy!

As the account owner, you are personally responsible for all charges on your account. Period.
If you feel that another person is responsible for the charges, then Small Claims Court would be the avenue for you to explore.
You might want to contact Verizon Financial Services and set up payment arrangements for the amount you owe. There might be more that they can do to schedule a series of payments.

And even though she is off your account now, you might also want to set up data alerts on your account so that you get alerted when you are near your data limit. It's one thing to be a little bit over, but 80GB? Seriously?
