I have no skype to skype on Kindle Fire

As soon as I call it kicks out a hang up with both phone and video.
WHAT UP?????????????

I am not able to get the video even though the camera works. It is as though the wrong version of the app got installed when manufactured and no update info has been given. I really want to use this kindle but I am very disappointed right now with.

  • Skype and Kindle Fire HD

The Skype app came installed with my new KFHD.  I logged into Skype with no problems.  However, I also use Skype on my tv through my home pc.  Since I am using the same account (my shortsightedness) I would like to create a new account for the KFHD.  I cannot uninstall the app from my KFHD but is there any way to remove the account info and create a new account?

Just got my new Kindle Fire hd and found this while looking for solutions!!

  • Skype on Kindle Fire 7" HDX reboots

When I launch Skype, I can see the test call contact and one of my contacts online. If I call the test call (voice only, of course), everything goes well. If I initiate a video call, or if my contact calls me; as soon as I pick up the call, skype reboots.
    Have anyone seen this problem?

I have the same problem and I download a skype for androi 4.9.0.45564.apk It worked okey the only problem is you has to start skype from file expert hd it will not make a icon on the main screen or carrusel

  • How am i getting skype for free on my kindle fire

I have Skype with my Kindle Fire HD I am not being charged it's always been free but since I got my laptop they want to charge me for skype I also asked my Fiancee if he had skype for free on his laptop he does so why am i getting the message to put money on a Skype card?

Currently you can't selectively delete chat history on Skype for Kindle Fire HD. Only way to get rid of the complete history (together with all settings) is uninstalling and reinstalling the Skype app, I'm afraid.

  • Kindle fire hd 8.9 and skype quality

How is the video quality for skype on kindle fire hd 8.9

Not good for me. Although I have the 7" and have only tested one case. Everyone had great wi-fi connection and the same conversation on Facetime looked well. But the video call between my Kindle Fire HD and an iPad on the other end wasn't good. The conversation crashed every 3 minutes and app broke (sent me to home). And the video quality was poor. Audio was fine but somewhat delayed. Tried re-installing Skype and had the same issues. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Kindle Fire skype sign-in

Purchased a Kindle Fire Hd and have free skype installed, but when I feel in the sign in part and it comes to the phone number it will not take my phone number. It keeps asking for country code. Help please. Amazon tells me it is a skype issue.

Skype on kindle fire is so frustrating! Why, Amazon, provide Skype when it does not work simply? Also, why should customers be forced into opening a Microsoft account? I regret buying kindle fire instead of a real tablet.

  • Bluetooth speakers not working on kindle fire HD 7...

I have a kindle fire HD 7" and bluetooth is not working for in-call audio
When the device is paired with my bluetooth speakers, the sounds of the volume changes and other gui clicks go out over the bluetooth speakers but the actual audio of the skype video call still go via the kindle's builtin speakers.
    NOTES:
    - I made sure to connect to bluetooth speaker before starting skype.
    - Other applications are working with my bluetooth speakers (e.g. playing music, spotify radio, etc)

I have a reply from Amazon on this issue and have used the contact details they provided to contact Skype BUT with NO response!!!!   Why oh why do Skype ignore its users??????
    Amazon respnse:
Thank you for contacting Amazon Appstore Support.
I'm sorry to hear that you have had issues using your Bluetooth speaker with Skype.
There is an explanation for this, however, I must warn you that it is a bit technical.
Apps on the Kindle Fire play audio through one channel which does support Bluetooth audio. Device sounds on the Kindle Fire play audio through a different channel which does not support Bluetooth.
Now the problem is that when the developers of Skype created Skype for Kindle Fire they routed the sound through the device sound channel opposed to the Apps channel.
This means that that Skype does not support Bluetooth speakers.
As the app was not developed by Amazon, you may want to contact the developer of the app, Skype Software, for product support and troubleshooting.

  • Kindle Fire $50 Trade in Denied

I tried trading in my Kindle Fire (1st Gen) at the Fenway, MA store (#804) for the Samsung $50 promotion.
Customer service officer had no idea of the promotion so I had to show him the website. He later denied me saying that the Kindle Fire is not a tablet but an ereader and is only eligible for a trade in value of $2.
Can someone please clarify if the Kindle Fire is eligible for this promotion and if not, why it is considered an ereader when it obviously runs on Android with similar apps.
    Solved!

    Good afternoon councilmage,
Thank you for taking the time to sign up for the forum.  I can understand questioning why our Fenway store may have denied your trade-in, especially when the Kindle Fire is categorized as a tablet on BestBuy.com.  Being that the original Kindle was solely an eReader, the associates may have assumed the same of your Kindle Fire; however, it should be considered more of a tablet, which means it would qualify for the current trade-in offer.
I am very sorry for any inconvenience you may have experienced while at the store, as we should be more familiar with our current promotional offers.  I am going to connect with the store managers from our Fenway store to ensure they have the correct information.  The offer is valid up until 9/6/2014, so I am going to suggest that you go back up to the store to try again.
If I hear back from the store or have an update, I will send you a private message.  You can check your private messages by logging into the forum and clicking on the envelope icon at the top of the page.
    Warmest Regards,

  • Highlighting with Kindle Fire

I have just tried to use my Kindle Fire for pdf documents but the highlighting tool isn't working. Is this function not available in the Kindle Fire?

You're using the built-in PDF reader. If you want to do highlighting, you need to use the Adobe Reader. You can download the app for free from the Kindle store. Unfortunately, it's not easy to get the Adobe Reader to read and save your documents. The built-in reader opens all PDF documents by default, and there is no way to change the default. If somebody from either Adobe or Amazon is willing explain how to use the Adobe Reader on Kindle, I'm all ears.

  • Unable to install ADE on my Kindle Fire

    Hello,
I have downloaded the installer to my Kindle Fire but when I click on it it says "Cannot open file".  any hints? Many thanks, Elizabeth

Adobe Digital Editions won't itself run on Kindle Fire; only PC and Mac.
You should be able to use apps such as Bluefire or Aldiko to read Adobe DRM books on Kindle.
I can't verify these for myself, but check out

  • Sideloaded Custom Viewer (Multi-Issue) crashes after splash on KINDLE FIRE

We have successfully used the Adobe Digital Publishing suite and pushed our application to the iTunes App Store and the Android Marketplace.
Now, however, we are using the Viewer Builder to create an APK for the Amazon App Store.
The Viewer Builder process is the same as for the Android, and we are able to download and sign the YOURAPPNAME-AndroidViewer.apk.
We have sideloaded the APK to the Kindle Fire and succesfully installed it - but on load it REPEATEDLY crashes after the Splash screen.
These two comments also indicate the SAME BEHAVIOR:

...and they are from over a month ago.
The Kindle Fire is already, in only 3 months, the biggest and fastest selling Android tablet.
I haven't seen anything on the Adobe site or elsewhere about anyone having published a Viewer-Builder-built custom viewer to the Kindle Fire.
So... What is the status, Adobe?
    <3,
    A patient customer.

It's odd to say this, but that crash on the Amazon Fire is actually working as designed. The .apk file you create is built to allow for in-app purchases (even if it's free). If you sideload this unwrapped .apk file to your Fire, it will crash because -- as I understand it -- Amazon still hasn't enabled in-app purchases yet, so the unwrapped .apk file is basically looking for a sandbox that doesn't exist. However, if you submit the .apk file to Amazon, they will wrap it, and it should work as designed. If you want to test it, you can ask Amazon to send you the wrapped version, but it's easier just to submit it and test the live version before you announce its availability.
I went through this process with my DPS Tips app. It's now approved and in the Amazon Appstore. I haven't updated the publishing process doc yet. I was hoping to wait until Amazon got its subscriptions and in-app purchases up and running.

  • Possible Bug in Skype Kindle Fire HD

After a recent upgrade to Skype, it has stopped detecting the # key press while in call mode. In some IVR numbers I have to press the # key to make my choices during the call.
I have checked the same with the Skype app on my other Android phones, it is working fine. Looks like this issue is with Kindle Fire HD only.
Anybody faced this issue? any fix in the pipeline?
    Version: 3.0.505.41

The first gen kindle fire comes preinstalled with Flash, so you can just toggle the settings. But all other gens require installing flash and the dolphin browser. Check out this site for more info:http://kindlefiretuts.com/how-to-install-flash-to-the-kindle-fire-all- gens/

  • Kindle fire skype freezes

Recently when I have skyped, after about 10 minutes my Kindle fire freezes.  No controls work, and after about 2-3minutes, my Kindle fire shuts down.  I have had this tablet for about 18 months - no problems until about 4 weeks ago when this freezing started.  And today, Netflix, BBC iPlayer and Amazon Instant Video have stopped working.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This would be Hardware/Device Issue. If device reset fixes the problem temporary, good to contact them as it affects more than Skype app.

Ever since the update on 11-28-12 I have a difficult time hearing my caller and my caller is having difficulty hearing me with the volume turned all the way up. Its not just on the Kindle its on my Sony TV and my son's MacPro. Anyone else experiencing this?
