I have noticed oily looking film behind my iPad screen. Any ideas?

I noticed what I thought was an air pocket in screen saver on my iPad 2. I took off the screen saver and that's not the problem. It's a oily looking residue/spot behind the screen. It looks almost like an oil slick. It's moves if you use stylus on it but goes back to original shape. It's probably the size of two quarters. I have not used it much, keep it in a case, use good stylus and have not dropped it or damaged in anyway. I am shocked and hope this is a minor fix. Apple is so busy with upgrade issues I thought I would give this a try. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
