I have old version of firefox,so i tried to download new 1 and it went like should i hit run then nothing else popped up no way to finish it any ideas?

i downloaded it,hit save file and then nothing else showed up to finish getting program to download..

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.
As IO said before:
You can redownload most iTunes pruchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
I do not think it included audio books.

Can I have two versions of firefox? i.e. one for work and one for home use. I use Windows xp
I would like to start fresh with a new firefox for my work only so I can keep my work related bookmarks etc separate from my at home browsing.

Yes - are you wanting to run 2 profiles on the same machine? See https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles on how to create a new profile. You then just choose which profile you want to use each time you open Firefox.

  • I had the old version of Firefox, but when offered to download the new version of Firefox, I did so. After the download and the old version being gone, my system informs me that my computer is too old to support the new Firefox. Now I have no Firefox.

I just want the old version of Firefox back.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com
For the full system requirements see http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/system-requirements.html

  • Trying to update Firefox: download latest version, follow directions to install, when restart still have old version

Trying to update Firefox from 3.6.22 to 6.0.2
I download latest version, follow directions to install (move to app folder, drag to dock) but the old version in the dock is what opens.
So I removed old version from dock, put new version in, and restarted computer for good measure.
But when I restart still have old version...
How do I get the newest version of Firefox to be the one my computer uses?
Have tried to download and install several times over several months without success...

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • Just finished update. While in the Tips, why did it tell me I have an old version? Hey there! Looks like you're using an old version of Firefox. Don't miss out on the latest technology & security features. Get the free upgrade in less than a minute.

The top of the screen has an owl like icon & then the following message:
Hey there! Looks like you’re using an old version of Firefox.
Don’t miss out on the latest technology & security features.
Get the free upgrade in less than a minute.

Dear Colbabomb; thankyou for your links.
So far, I looked at your first solution, Revo Uninstaller and it gives you a 30 free trial. Ergo, it will eventually cost money so I'm leery of using those kinds of programs in general, meaning most "free trials" have unwanted strings attached and often are big probs to get rid of later. Perhaps you can assure me that it is easy and very user friendly, before I proceed. And I already ran malwarebytes and it found nothing tho the program still can't be uninstalled. I downloaded Adw Cleaner and during the install, my Norton's security popped up and warned that there were (low risk) threats with two of their "other offers" and i hadn't even actually clicked to agree either of them. Nonetheless, Norton warned me against the "lyrics finder" and "deal ply." In fact, there was a box already with an x in it, saying that you are accepting deal ply if you x on "next." Well, except I unchecked that box before clicking on next, yet when it went to fully install, it still showed that it was adding itself; so, just before the install was 100% completed, I had to abort the whole thing. I really do hope your other suggestions are programs that you personally know that they don't try and trick you. But right now, I would not suggest Adw Cleaner to anyone. I even read the fine print about what they will try and install and how to decline and it still tried sticking stuff on that i believed I had declined. Anyways, i have to leave now, shall pick up later this evening, if my pc is still functioning.

  • I have to keep an old version of Firefox for work but would like to download the current version to use personally. Is this possible?

My work requires I use an old version of Firefox. This means I really can't use it for other things. I would like to install the new version but also keep the old version. Is that possible?

Yes, you can download the newest version in a portable package so the newer version and the old version you need will keep their files separated from each other.

  • I have firefox 7 and still get warnings "You are using an old version of Firefox which Gmail no longer supports or Google Plus incompatible. How can I fix?

When I tried to join Google Plus I get the message Browser no longer supported. First Happened when using firefox 6.0.2 and still happens now with FF 7.
Also Gmail shows "You are using an old version of Firefox which Gmail no longer supports. Some features may not work correctly"
and at the bottom of this page the "educated guess" about my browser shows 3.0.15

Your about:config has been modified with the lines
    general.useragent.extra.microsoftdotnet
    ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729)
    general.useragent.override

That is why Google is reporting old version.
You need to ether find out why or create a new profiles and see if this line is gone. [[Profiles]]
There is some verbose about MS, but I don't know of any MS add-on that would do this.

  • Can I go back to the old version of Firefox?

I am trying to pin-point the cause of problems I am having with my basic one-page website. It does not allow me to upload images. The hosting agent says I have a virus. I did the scan and cleaned up the desktop but the problem remains. I am suspicious of the Firefox update because of the warning it gave during its installation that some "plug-ins" would not function or be available until a later time (or something to that effect). What was that all about and could it affect my website? Can I go back to the old version of Firefox? Maybe I could test if this is a part of the problem.

Hello, the Photobucket plugin was not developed by Mozilla, the creator of the plugin is mattyk++ as you can see here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/photobucket-uploader/
He needs to update the plugin in order to work with Firefox 4.0

  • I want to restore my old version of firefox and my security that was disabled as well as all my plugins, add ons, and so forth. How do I do that?

I want to restore my old version of firefox. I also want to restore my security that was disabled and all my plugin and add ons. How do I return to where I was?

The only fully supported and updated versions of Firefox are 3.6.22 and 6.0.2. All other versions contain security of stability errors that have not and will not be corrected.
    '''''"...my security that was disabled..."'''''
Any toolbar that your security application installs into Firefox may have been disabled because the developer has not updated their toolbar.
*The functioning of your security application should not be affected, just the toolbar.
*You can try updating your security product as some security application developers have recently released updates of their products that are Firefox 6 compatible.
*You can visit and/or post on your security application developer's forum to see if they can make suggestions for you or let you know about their plans to update for Firefox 6 compatibility and to confirm that your security application is still fully functional, just the toolbar is disabled.
Firefox has a built-in function that provides one of the major functions of most security application toolbars. '''''Safe Browsing''''', the built-in Firefox component, will warn you when you try to go to a known Malware or Phishing site:
    *'''''Sample''''' warning screens:

'''''"...all my plugins, add ons, and so forth..."'''''
I can see many plugins that were not disabled; click "More system details" to the right of your original post.
If any extension(s) other than Java Console (see below) were disabled, please reply with a list of the disabled Extensions and/or Plugins (Add-ons > Extensions and Add-ons > Plugins).
    '''<u>Java Console</u>'''<br />
Unless you do Java programming/development or debug Java applets on web pages, you do not need Java Console. Java update will install a new Java Console with each update. Removing the Java Console extensions has no effect on the functioning of Java for web browsing. You can see, '''''but not remove''''', the Java Console extensions in Add-ons > Extensions. Java Console extensions can be safely removed '''''manually''''' by following the instructions in this article:

  • I would like to download an old version of Firefox - v3.6.11 - where do I find this?

I just want to download the old version of Firefox!!! 3.6.11 - where can I download it from?
    Thanks!

You can get any release version of Firefox from ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/
It is best not to install old versions such as 3.6.11 as they have published security holes. If you want 3.6 it is best to get the most recent version, currently 3.6.17, available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
