I have os x 10.5.8 and need to upgrade to 10.6 Any suggestions?
Hello my husband needs snow leopard not mountain lion but I can not find a way to download this software for my mac that has os x 10.5.8 any suggestions? Thank you in advance.
Once you install OS X 10.6 and use Software Update, you'll be at OS X 10.6.8 and can download Mountain Lion from the App store. Make sure your system can run Mountain Lion by checking here. While 2GB memory is the minimum, 4GB is recommended.
You probably know when you install Mountain Lion (or Lion 10.7) that PowerPC programs will no longer run, as Apple dropped that support. People running Office 2004 got surprised when it wouldn't work after the upgrade. Office 2008 and later are fine.

I have a new HP 7525 printer. I have a MAC desk top coputer. It has OS X 10.5.8. I need to upgrade so I can complete the install of my printer. Can I do this online(download a new system) I am also not sure if I need Snow Lepoard, or Mountin Lion. HELP!
You need to have Snow Leopard to get to Mountain Lion. ML is available for download from the Mac App Store.

Many third party applications (and some Apple ones) may need updates for SL (Adobe particularly) and definitely will for Lion/Mountain Lion, so check with the vendors for compatability before you upgrade.
Also, while most legacy PPC apps that run in Leopard will also run in SL under Rosetta, they won't run at all in Lion/ML as Rosetta support has been dropped. That may include drivers for some older peripherals as well as apps like Appleworks or Office 2004 or earlier and many Adobe apps.
For what it's worth, I'd go to 10.6.8 and try the printer. If it works OK, stay there until you have a chance to try the newer OS on someone elses computer. It's not for everyone, as may be attested by the number of requests for info on rolling back to SL. -
I have an older iPhone (3gs) and need to upgrade to a newer phone (4S). I need to get my NOTES, CALENDAR, CONTACTS, PICTURES, etc backed up on iTunes so I can get that data loaded onto the new phone. But not sure how to do that. When I open iTunes it has a button that say "Back Up iPhone", but I'm not sure what that does. When I go into the sync options it say I have another user account and asks me if I want to merge of replace. I'm assuming it's trying to tell me I have an older iTunes Library, but don't know that. Geez, maybe people over 60 shouldn't have iPhones, iTunes just bafles me.

I downloaded the new iOS 6 for my iphone 4. I have 2 iphones on my account and after the "upgrade" text messages go to both phones. When I send a text to my wife I recieve the same text and vise versa. How can I fix this?
"Sounds like you guys are using the same apple id for imessage. You will need to create a separate id for you wife. OR go to settings - message - receive&send and make sure your phone number is the default for both you and yoru wife.

I have just purchased a new macbook and need to sync my iphone with itunes, i understand that you can only sync your phone with one itunes account. I do not want to wipe my iphone when syncing with this new itunes account. Any advice welcome
1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it. -
For unknown reasons iTunes will no longer open. I have an HP laptop running windows 7 with Kaspersky protection. It worked fine before but now won't open. I tried downloading the most recent up-date and it will still not open. Any suggestions?

Recent history for Premiere Elements points to the program having problems when more than 1 video card/graphics card is
being used by the computer on which Premiere Elements is running. This observation may seem contra indicated by the fact
that you say that the program did work well about 2 years ago in the same setup. But other factors may have set in with regard
to drivers, drivers versions, and driver conflicts. But this factor, does need to be ruled in or out.
Can you disable one or the other card to determine the impact of this on your problem?
But, of prime concern with regard to video card/graphics card is the use of a NVIDIA GeForce card with Premiere Elements 10.
Even if your NVIDIA GeForce were the only card, Premiere Elements 10 will not work properly unless the NVIDIA GeForce driver
version is rolled back to about May 2013. This may be one of the major factors here.
a. Device Manager/Display Adapters and find out Driver Version and Driver Date
b. Read the background information for the Premiere Elements 10/NVIDIA GeForce issue

Sync your iPhone to iTunes to copy the iTunes purchases to the computer.
Or iTunes prefs > Store.
Tick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases then click the Cloud icon after the song names to download them. -

Yes, I did that. They have uppgrades for the dongles, but just untill Mac Os 10.7. Their solution is to buy a new modem from them or getting one for free if I sign a contract for 24 months! So, i think from that side not very helpful.
It is just that I do not want to buy a new modem, when it works in quite recent computers and after having spent money in the new Mac.

NOTE: if you upgrade to Mavericks you'll have to purchase iPhoto 9.5.1 from the App Store as your current version does not qualify for a free upgrade.

To elaborate a bit, you may come across offers of a new/unopened/unregistered version, which is the simplest case (you would need a guarantee). Other cases require much detailed information (and a guarantee).
If upgrading to 10.6.8 or higher is an option, you could use CS6. -

VC6. is rather old, but you can try to convert the VC6 project using the upgrade wizard of VC2012. Depending on the content of the project your code will work more or less without problems, at least it will compile without errors.
You could also go the 2nd way and create in VC2012 a project type using the wizard that is very similar to your current VC6 projcet (MDI, SDI, Dialog Based, ...). Than you replace the files generated by the wizard with the content of your project. Sometimes
this way is more successful.
But at all the automated converting success depends on the code of your VC6 project. I had both, conversions without big problems and also conversions that need a lot changes to run on a current VC version.
