Your bookmarks should sync automatically across your devices after pairing them on Firefox Sync. It could take a few minutes, depending on how much information you've chosen to sync.
If your bookmarks still aren't showing up in the ''Bookmarks'' menu after a few minutes, try the following:
1. Make sure you've checked off bookmarks in your Sync settings. See this help article for step-by-step instructions: [[How do I choose what types of information to sync on Firefox?]]
2. Click on the orange Firefox button to open the menu. If Sync is set up correctly, you should see a "Sync Now" button as pictured. Click on it to resync your bookmarks.
Please let us know if that worked.
Next week, Firefox is coming out with a new, improved Firefox Sync feature. It's much easier to use - just a simple sign-in, no device codes needed.

Did you restore from iCloud backup?

Doing so will will make the iPod like it was when the backup was made unless some apps are no longer available from the app store.

As soon as I made gmail my home page my bookmarks available in IE gmail, under 'Bookmarks', disappeasred, and importing bookmarks didn't make them reappear, so where have they got to and how can I get my bookmarks link back??

You can open that smart keyword website via the location bar and click the star to edit that bookmark. That will also give you the folder location of that bookmark. If you add the keyword to the name (keyw) then you can find it more easily.

Is that hard drive usable at all? Like as an external disk in a USB hard drive enclosure?

Were you in iTunes or the Finder? If you were in iTunes what exactly did you click? You say "a folder" but the only "folders" in iTunes contain Playlists and deleting a playlist will not delete tracks from the iTunes library.
When you deleted the music were you prompted to delete the tracks from the cloud? If so, did you do so?
Were you prompted to move the files to the Trash. If so did you do so? If you did have you emptied the Trash?

You need OSX 10.7.2 or higher in order to access icloud. The mobile me account is now defunct (it closed down more than a year ago).

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone (if you're using iOS 7), then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Be careful, when you connect the iPhone to your mac, unless you have saved the photos. Synced photos may easily be accidentally deleted by syncing again. And do not enable iCloud Photo Library (Beta), that will erase synced photos as well. Synced Photos are not included in the device backups.
Set your iTunes Preferences to "Devices > Prevent iPos, iPhones, iPads from syncing automatically". Otherwise iTunes may launch and sync your iPhone with an empty iPhoto library the moment you connect it.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to sync the synced photos back. Apple recommends to mail them back, but that would be a lot of clicking (iTunes: Syncing photos - Apple Support). You could also share them to a Shared Album, but a third party app like TD recommended, will be better.

To remove the book simply touch and hold the cover on the main page. A little pop up will ask, remove? Say yes. The book content will de deleted. The cover will remain on your main page with a little down arrow so that you can redownload it if you wan in the cloud view. In the device view, it simply disappears.
Note at the bottom of the page are a couple of switches, labeled cloun and device. The device switch shows you books on your device. The cloud page shows your whole catalog, and the down arrow allows you to bring down anything in your catalog to the device.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.

It will be backed up on your computer and can later be restored to an iOS device using iTunes, if desired. Of course, if your hard drive crashes you'll lose it if it isn't backed up somewhere else. If you want to included it in your computer backup, it will be located at one of the following locations:
Mac OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup
Windows XP: %AppData%\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
Windows Vista: %AppData%\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
Windows 7: %AppData%\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
