I have PE11, new camera Canon Rebel t5i, in raw format, "not supported by installed version of raw".

I am using Photoshop Elements 11, using WIndows 7 Operating System. I have a new camera Canon Rebel T5i, and having problem viewing images in raw format (cr2).
Message in PE11, states, "Camera model not supported by installed version of Camera raw."
Canon software views images.
Suspect my minimum camera raw plug in version does not support this new camera....
I am unable to locate in the software any menu item that allows me to view the camera raw plug  in version.
Appreciate any support from our Adobe forum.

Ice Storm of 2013 has hit hard, plenty of downed tree limbs and all terrain is shiny !!

At least one person was able to get ACR 8.3 to install into PSE11 using the direct-download link for ACR 8.3 CC  on Adobe’s blog, so you might try that:
http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2011/03/keeping-photoshop-up-to-date.html#notconnected
After downloading, if on Wndows, unzip the setup.zip to somewhere, like your Desktop, and then run the AdobePatchInstaller.  I expect there’s a similar process for Macs, but I don’t have one so cannot advise, specifically.

  • TS1382 my ipod will not play any format of film i have tried mp4 and .mov and it says this format not supported what is the problem

i have an ipod classic and i have tried to put films on but every format i try it keeps saying thei format not supported i have tried mp4 and .mov and it will not take it anyone got any suggestions on what format to use and the best way to convert films

If these problem videos are already stored in your iTunes library, try using the iTunes built in convert to convert the file to an even friendlier iPod format.  To use it, highlight the video in iTunes and choose Advanced -> Create iPod or iPhone version from the drop down menu.  When the conversion process has completed, try syncing the new version over to your iPod Classic.

  • New camera dies Rebel t5i with old and new battery

Camera is 12 months old and the original battery appears as if not holding a charge. After charging, the camera will come on and die when pressing the shutter button to take a picture. I purchased a new battery, charged it and the same happens again. Seems that maybe the old battery may not be dead after all. Could this be the charger or is this a camera issue. If a camera issue where do I go to get this looked at. Bought camera at best buy. You think this caliper camera would last longer than a year???

Are there any third party components involved in charging or using your camera?  Did you, for example, add a 3rd party battery grip?
I ask, because just occcasionally we'll get this sort of question where the camera fails to perform as expected but the person seeking help didn't mention the 3rd party component.  Once we find out about it and eliminate it from the test... suddenly the camera works fine again.
Canon factory batteries tend to last many years assuming you are using the original Canon charger (I do NOT like to use "fast" chargers as they stress the battery trying to charge it in a hurry and shorten it's life.)
When you insert a freshly charged battery and power it up... does the rear LCD screen come to life and, if so, do you see the battery charge level indicator showing that the battery is full?
This may be a problem with the camera itself and/or with one of it's cut-off switches.  There are two micr-switches will cause the camera to immediately power down if they are not engaged.  One is on the battery compartment door.  The other is on the memory card door.    If you power up the camera then VERY SLOWLY open these doors, you should find that you can open them about 1mm and then the camera will power off.  If you barely touch the door and the camera shuts down, then it may be that you have a bad switch.  Make sure the two doors are undamaged and able to close easily without any obstructions (if they aren't fully closed, it would make sense that your camera spontaneously shuts down.)
You may need to contact Canon service for help as there's no "setting" that would make the camera do this.  The T5i is a good camera, but it's just possible you have a problem with yours -- it happens and it's not an indicator of low quality.  I bought a new car that had a water pump failure within the first 5000 miles (that was a shock) even though everybody else with the same model car didn't have a problem with their water pump.  It happens.  Could they increase quality control to the point that it'd be very hard to get a car released with a bad water pump?  Well... they could improve build standards, testing standards, and inspection standards... that would REALLY drive up the price tag of that car... and just occasionally they'd still get a bad one anyway.  You can never get quality to 100% for any product.

  • Canon G11 RAW format not supported?

I am guessing Aperture does not support the G11 RAW format at this time since I am getting the dreaded red image that says "unsupported format". Is it me or is is anyone else seeing the same thing?

Yup, same here. I just bought a Canon G11, I'm shooting in RAW, which produces .CR2's. That should take advantage the camera's maximum quality if I'm not mistaken, which is what I want.
    iPhoto doesn't like em'.
Think Apple will eventually begin to support the G11's .CR2's? I definitely don't want to lower my shooting quality, but I also don't want the hassle to run Photoshop for each & every photo.

  • I have lightroom 4 and have recently bought a canon rebel t5. it will not let me open up raw files, no matter what i do. please help. thank you.

I have lightroom 4 and have recently bought a canon rebel t5. I cannot get lightroom top open the cr2 (raw) files no matter what I do. Please help!!!

You need to upgrade your version of Lightroom to version 5.4 or newer.

Or, download and use the free DNG Converter, which will produce files that Lr 4 can convert.

  • Have photoshop cs5 installed on desktop..got new Canon rebel T5i camera...cannot open RAW images...updated and installed plug-in...still now working.  Need help, please.

I have photoshop cs5 installed on desktop...got new Canon rebel T5i camera...cannot open RAW images...updated and installed plug-in...still not working...help please.

In any event, that camera was first supported by ACR version 7.4 which needs at least CS6 to run.  Naturally, all later versions support it too.
Your choice is either to upgrade your Photoshop, or to look for, download, install, launch and run the free, stand-alone Adobe DNG Converter 8.6 on each folder containing your raw Canon files to convert them first to raw DNGs that you can open in CS5.
In no case does an Adobe application belong "on your desktop".  The default install location should always be respected and left alone.

  • Can't put CR2 files from Canon Rebel T5i on PSE 11? How do I get them to load?

I keep trying to put my CR2 files on photoshop elements 11 and I can't. It keeps saying my camera is not compatilble. I use a Canon Rebel T5i. How do I get it load? Do I need to update my program? I really need to get this images up and editted asap! Help, please!

You should be able to open the Canon Rebel T5i/700d camera raw files with pse 11 if you update to camera raw 7.4
In the pse 11 editor go to Help>Updates and hopefully that should download and install camera 7.4

My CS5 program does not support CR2 photo taken with Canon Rebel T5i camera.  Why?

If you take a look at the following charts, you will find that both the S110 and the T5i are not supported in CS5, both cameras require photoshop CS6 with a camera raw point upgrade, Photoshop CC or Lightroom 4.3(s110) 4.4(T5).

I have Photoshop Elements 12 for both PC and Mac (I use both). I have a new camera, Nikon D810. I downloaded the latest version of Camera Raw, 8.8. My D810 is listed as a supported camera model. However, when I try to open a raw photo in Photoshop Elements, I keep getting the message "Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw. I have tried reinstalling Camera Raw many times, and have tried to open many different raw files in Elements, and still get the same error message. Please help.

How did you try to install ACR 8.8.  The only way I know of that works with Elements is to use the Updates Choice on the Help menu.
There are two charts supplied by Adobe that explain your RAW dilemma.  This one tells you what your camera needs:  http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html   This one tells you what version of software you need:  http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
In your case, the Nikon D810 needs Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) 8.6 or Lightroom 5.6.  (Congratulations on buying a new camera!)
To get to that level with Photoshop Elements, you will need to replace your Photoshop Elements 12 with version 13.   Adobe caps ACR updates on version 12 at 8.5.
The most convenient way to get around it without spending any money is to use the FREE from Adobe DNG Converter.  Download and install it from here for FREE:  http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=5855&fileID=5890  Once it is installed you can convert your D810 raw files to an Adobe RAW version with the .DNG file extension that most, if not all, versions of the various Adobe software programs can use.  That includes old versions of Photoshop, Elements and Lightroom.  DNG converter can be used as the tool to move your files from your memory card to your computer, is efficient, will convert in batches and is completely lossless.  There is no risk of any image quality degradation or RAW functionality.

  • Canon Rebel T5i automatically stops recording after about 6 seconds. How can I disable or fix this?

I just got a Canon Rebel T5i and I was testing out the video and several times it will automatically stop recording after about 6 seconds. How can I fix or disable this?

And while buying said faster card... buy a REPUTABLE brand from a reputable vendor.  I've come to the conclusion that there are a lot of fly-by-nights making cards that are not as fast as they claim to be.
Reputable vendors are companies like Sandisk and Lexar.  But as an SD card is just a plastic card with a sticker on it, and stickers are pretty easy to fake, buy the card from a vendor you can trust is not selling fakes.
This is one item where it is probably not a good idea to try to save money by finding the cheapest deal you can find on the Internet.

  • Photoshop won't open Raw images with my new Camera Canon 6D help! I use Photoshop CS5 extended version.

    Hello,
I got a new camera and Photoshop and Lightroom won't open Raw images with my new Camera Canon 6D help! I use Photoshop CS5 extended version. and Lightroom 3

    Good news and bad news:
The bad news is that you need CS6 or higher to open 6D RAWs. (The 6D didn't get support until Camera Raw 7.3; 7.0 premiered in CS6.) You can choose to upgrade (I'd recommend skipping CS6 and go straight for CC 2014 for $10/month) *OR*...
...the good news is that the DNG Converter can help you convert your RAWs into DNGs for use in CS5 and Lightroom 3.

I have just updated to LR5.  I also have a new Camera.  Nikon D800.  Trying to import directly (from camera) into LR.  But unsuccessful. Getting the following message.  "The files are from a camera which is not recognised by the raw format support in Lightroom."  How can I import please?

    Hi,
I assume you mean the Nikon D810 because D800/800E support has been there since Lightroom 4.1
Currently, because it is a new camera (D810) the only support is in a RC of ACR 8.6 for Photoshop CS6 and CC, as the RC runs out on 31 August it is expected support will be there in the next dot release of Lightroom.
Current limitations are that only full sized NEF is supported.
If you wish to import to Lightroom 5.5. you will need to download the DNG Converter v8.6RC and convert the NEF files (full size RAW ony) to DNG then import into Lightroom 5.5

    This:
if I double click on the photo to enlarge it, the screen flills with a big exclamation mark.
is why you can't do this:
I can not email or move any pictures that are vertical.
It means that iPhoto can't find the photos.
    What version of iPhoto?
