I have photos on my iphone that I'm unable to upload to my PC.
I have photos on my "Camera Roll" and on a few other "Albums" on my iPhone. At one time all these albums had been uploaded to my PC. The PC had to be reformatted and I was so thankful I had my photos on my phone. However, I am only able to upload the photos that are on the "Camera Roll". The other "Albums" are not recognized. I can view all the photos and I can email them, but cannot upload them. They are taking up far too much storage space.
I went to the Apple Store but the tech could not help me. She said the problem must be with my PC. So I tried to upload them to another PC, but had the same problem. Very frustrating. I don't want to lose these photos. The tech told me if I upgrade my iPhone software, I will lose the photos.
Thanks,
Sheila Reeves
This behavior is normal. Since photos in anything other than the camera roll had to come from your computer, you can not sync them from the phone to the computer. In addition, the photos on the phone are not stored at their original resolution, but are optimized for the display of the phone.
You eill either need to restore from the backup you made of your computer before you re-formatted it, or you will need to invest in 3rd party software to extract the low res photos from the phone.

In Iphoto, How can I delete photos on my iphone that have already been imported?
I've just spent over the hour on the phone with my sister (who has a law degree, I have an engineering degree), and we could not figure out how to delete photos from our iphones that have already been imported into Iphoto. I thought Apple was the company that made things easier??? This is a nightmare.
The way it should work:
- Launch iPhoto
- Stand on iPhone (Under Devices)
- Select photo to delete (under Already Imported)
- Right-Click Delete (or Send to Trash, or Something)
Obviously we are not thinking like Apple thinks...does anyone know how to do this, or are these programs as crap as they seem and you have to go back to your iphone and select each photo one at a time (all several thousands of them).
Don't even get me started on how messed up my photo libraries have become now that I have (fully) switch over to Apple.
By the way, I like my Mac for everything else...but its photo capabilities suck. Thanks, I was hoping for something a little more selective that I could do from my computer, but I think this is helpful.
Maybe the best approach to get this under control is:
- Import all photos into iphoto
- Delete all photos per your suggestion
- Selectivly sync the photos you want put back on your phone
Thanks again, I didn't know this and is a helpful trick!
P.S. I still wouldn't mind finding a way to selectively delete files that are on my iphone from my computer. (In Windows, you can go to My Computer -> Iphone, open the folder and delete what you want). -
I have photos on my iphone 4 that i'm trying to transfer to iphoto. The problem is when I plug the phone in, it only wants to transfer the new photos, not all. How can I take all the photos off my phone and put them into iphoto? Even if there are duplicates, I'd like to make sure I get all the photos from my phone into iphoto. Thanks
To see all the photos on the phone, including photos that have already been imported into iPhoto, deselect the "Hide Photos Already Imported" checkbox. If the camera contains photos that have already been imported into iPhoto, those photos are hidden by default.

How do I delete photos from my iPhone that have been downloaded from my pc?
I am not sure how to delete photos from my iPhone that I have downloaded from my pc or that I have taken with my iPhone (on my camera roll)
"I am not sure how to delete photos from my iPhone that I have downloaded from my pc"
The same way you put them there. The sync process. open itunes, connect iphone, select what you want on the iphone , sync
"or that I have taken with my iPhone (on my camera roll)"
You can delete them when you import the photos to your computer - using whatever softare that you import them with or you can go to the pics and hit the trash can on the bottom of the screen.

Is there a way to recover my photos on my iphone that has not been backed up. It has been in rice for 24 hrs.
Thank you !No since thay have not been backed up. Hopefully the phone will work long enough after the 'rice treatment" for you to recover the phone and do a backup. The rice sometimes does not work. Good luck.

how do i delete photos on my iphone that have already been deleted from my windows laptop? The photos cannot be selected and removed from the iphone album. trash can is greyed out.
You should be able to delete the photos by syncing with iTunes. Either remove the checkmark beside "Sync Photos From" on the photos page of iTunes or change the selection of photos to be synced. Each time you sync it is supposed to set the non-Camera Roll photos on the phone to match the current settings/selection in iTunes.

How do I only have photos from my iPhone stream to my iMac?
How do I only have photos from my iphone stream to my iMac? I just downloaded from my digital camera close to a 1,000 pictures from my vacation on to my iMac and they all streamed to my iPhone! I don't want all those pictures on my phone. Is there a way to only have the photo stream work in one direction?
Photos downloading to your iPhone usually come from Syncing with iTunes. Look in the iTunes sidebar, click on iPhone under devices (must be attached). Click on Photos tab across the top to review which Photos, albums, events etc are synced from iPhoto.

I had an incomplete backup of my music on an external hard drive. I had to have my hard drive replaced. I now have music on my iPhone that is not on my MacBook Pro. It is music that was not purchased from the iTunes store, but it was uploaded from a CD (which I no longer have). How can I transfer music from my iPhone to my MacBook?
Turingtest2's user tip will help you with this.

I have music on my iPhone that is not on my iTunes (mac)
I have music on my iPhone that is not on my iTunes (mac). I have unchecked all music and synced so iTunes doesn't see the music but when I go to my phone music is still there. The phone is running out of memory when I try to update apps due to this.
There appears to be about 3GB of music on my iPhone I cant removePurchased content from iTunes? If so, your phone connected, iTunes running: File>Transfer Purchases. Or, you can delete the music directly on your phone: swipe left-to-right across the song/album, hit "Delete".

Blue screen of death if I have photos on my iphone 3gs!
Hi all,
Need a little help. If I have photos on my camera roll and I plug the iphone into my laptop I get the BSOD. If I then delete the photos off the iphone and plug into my laptop all is fine. I only get a problem when I have photos on the iphone. All these photos have been taken by the camera and not downloaded. I am guessing these files are corrupt in some way.
Anybody got any ideas why this is happening? As you can imagine it is more than frustrating!

You have either an older Logitech webcam or Lexmark scanner. You need to get the latest driver for the device. The older logitech drivers incorrectly think the iPhone is a webcam, which causes a buffer overflow in the kernel and the BSOD. -
I have photos on my phone that I can see but cannot get them to download to my computer.... Please help.
Are these photos in your camera roll? I ask, because only camera roll photos/videos can be imported to a computer.
