I have problem in location service

MY ipad mini have problem it cannot determinate  my location although another ipad beside me can determinate easily
i rest all location services

What model is your iPad? WiFi+Cell or WiFi-only?
If it is WiFi-Only, beware the model does not have a GPS chip and can only determine its location by consulting in a database maintained by Apple the location of the WiFi hotspot it is connecting to. If the hotspot is not registered or if there is no WiFi service, the device is essentially lost and unable to determine where it is.
The WiFi+Cell models come with a localization chip that reads both US GPS and Russian GLONASS signals so it can always find where it is, PROVIDED the geographical area is allowed to sync. The US military, which operate their GPS infrastructure, are known to disable GPS location services in conflict zones so the "enemies" can't benefit. If the Russians do likewise, we don't know.

please help.....Why my ipod 3rd generation no have selection of location services...i nid to share location..but it disable....and im tryin to share current location by find my ipod....but cannot also...HOW....Help me pls ...kindly help

Are you talking about general Selection ID transfer or is this the one that appears in Alert profiles ?
If it is the one in alert profile, you would need to do similar table level transports using SE16 for application specific profiles table /SAPAPO/SDP_PROF, /SAPAPO/SDP_DB, /SAPAPO/SDP_PRFT and /SAPAPO/SDP_DYN
If it is general selection ID transport, go to planning area and in the menu bar pickup Transport Connection. You have the option to transport all the selections there. Keep other things unchecked.

  • Possible fix for problems with Location Services!!!!

Alright, I had just bought a brand new iPod Touch 5th Generation and was having trouble with any app that used Location services (Siri, Weather, Maps, etc) and it was driving me absolutely crazy. Now, I live in a very VERY rural area in Pennsylvania (basically the middle of nowhere) and my new iTouch kept saying "cannot determine location" no matter what app I was using that utilized Location Services. After 4-5 days straight of searching various websites looking for help (including this one), I came up completely empty handed and had pretty much given up on getting it to work correctly. Somewhere along the line, I found out about Skyhook Wireless and the process for adding my wireless network to their database. I thought to myself "What the heck? It can't hurt to at least try..." even after reading on multiple websites that Apple no longer works with Skyhook. So I gave it a shot,..
I went to the following website: http://skyhookwireless.com/howitworks/submit_ap.php
I entered my address into the first empty text field and then clicked the "MAP IT" button.
It deteremined where I was (pretty darn accurately if I say so myself) so I moved on and entered my Wireless Router's MAC Address in the corresponding field.
Then I entered my email address in the corresponding field, completed the CAPTCHA, and hit "SUBMIT".
I received an email a few moments later from Skyhook letting me know they had successfully received my submission and then I sat back for a few moments, crossing my fingers and hoping for the sake of my sanity that it had worked.
After about an hour or so, I tried to get my local weather using the Weather app that comes pre-installed on iOS. Still, it couldn't find my current location. the Maps app gave me the same result.
I sat here planning my next course of action and came up with...you guessed it....nothing!
I said screw it and went about my business for the day. A few days went by and I was visiting a very good friend of mine and I had my iTouch with me. Now my friend lives even further in the sticks than I do but for some unknown and shocking reason, my location services worked PERFECT at their house (every single app I tried that in one way or another used Location Services, it worked every time) so I asked my friend if it would be alright with them to go grab my wireless router and switch with them for a day or two, just as a last ditch effort for the sake of science and my own sanity. They said it wouldn't be a problem at all. So we traded wireless routers for a day or two.
Upon hooking their router up at my house and using the Weather & Maps apps, it still showed up that I was still at their house and showed the local weather for the town that was nearest to them. I was like "Hey, it's better than nothing!" so I left it go for a day or two.
Upon arriving at my friends house to grab my original router and give them back their original router, I checked my iTouch and, lo & behold, it showed my home as my current location and the correct local weather for the city/town closest to my home address, even though I was at their house. I felt so dumbfounded and almost cried because I had actually gotten it to work. I unhooked my original router, hooked my friend's back up, and it showed up that I was exactly where I was supposed to be - at my friend's house.
I brought my original router back to my house, hooked it up and Cha-CHING! It WORKED!!!!! It showed that I was at my house and showed the correct local weather.
And there you have it, How I was able to solve my location services woes.
I'm not saying it will help out everybody else's location service problems but it is worth a shot, it worked for me.
If this DOES help anyone else out, please reply so as to confirm that it wasn't just me that it works for.

Thank you @sberman for a fast replay, I read the article, but still it doesn't explain why it doesn't show at least that I'm in Europe, while my android phone, having set just wifi as location reference, shows my position at 1km accurately(I don't live in a city, that's why such a big radius) in Google Maps.I also saw the time zone, if I set it automatically, detection through wifi doesn't work, it just keeps refreshing.

  • Problem with Location Services in Flight Mode

    Hi!
Several times before it happened, that the Location Services symbol appeared in the status bar during Flight Mode and only disappeared several minutes after leaving Flight Mode. Up til now this never posed a problem as I usually plug in my Z10 over night.
Yesterday before going to bed I had 30% left and thought, that this would be sufficient to survive the night and that i'll plug it in in the office. Alas, I was woken up at arround 6am by my phone turning itself off.
When I looked at the Device Manager i found something quiet startling: During the whole time Flight Mode was active (approx. 23:00 - 0600), Location Services where active as well, draining the remaining 30% of battery. (See pictures)
My Device is a Z10STL100-3, OS is 10.2.1.3175.
No App was running nor was an Active Frame open.
Does anyone have a clue, why this happened or what caused this? Anyone with similar experiences?
And more important: how can i fix this?
    Kind regards,
    Uwe

I saw a resemblance to a user in the Spanish forum mistake is perhaps as happens on the foursquare application was always working and location feature enabled.

  • Anyone have problems with AppleSpell.Services?

Good day all. I had a huge drain on memory resources and found, through activity monitor, something called AppleSpell.services running and taking 35% of my memory. Plus logging out took far too long (compared to normal). I shut down the processes (there were about 5 or 6 running) but could not find any info on what, besides the obvious thought of a spell check program, this service did. I found it in Previous System, library, services. How I have a previous system is a bit of a mystery also. Not knowing if this was malicious code impersonating a actual process or not. Any thoughts?
    G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Hi Roam. I did try a re-install a while ago as I was having trouble with a dark screen (i.e. "you must restart your computer...). I seem to have some conflict with either Microsoft database daemon or with the pdf plugin associated with firefox internet browser. I keep getting a crash reporter message with these items so I decided to try a reinstall. Thanks for the info for deleting the previous system. It was weird, all these AppleSpell.services all running at the same time and I could not find any info on them except for root items. I will check my startup file to see if anything is strange. Any thoughts on viruses?
    Regards
    Al

  • Z10 Location services kaput after update 10.2.1.537

I updated my phone to 10.2.1.537 recently and noticed after that my location services do not work at all anymore. My location services says that it is on under settings but it will not locate me when i open an app. I usually use gasbuddy app and native blackberry maps and when i open the app it shows me where i was last before the update and says that location services are off when they are definitely on since i manually switched it on in the settings. I have tried turning location services off and on many times, restarted my phone hard and soft restart and have done a system restore (due to the picture password malfunction after update the picture password would not let me into my phone after crashing 2 days afer update) much to my dismay since i have downloaded and deleted a bunch of apps since my last backup. I am wondering if this a common problem or is blackberry planning on fixing this or if there are any patches or some tricks of any kind that i can use to make my location services to work again. Definitely not happy with the new OS, thats not to say that they didnt put alot of new exciting features into the new OS but for me this has been awful as i have been without a phone essentially since the update. All help is appreciated, Thanks Mark

Location Services are part of some apps. They may be using the GPS feature as well as the Network to give you a more precise lock on your location. You said you are using gasbuddy app but location won`t work. Are you having this problem with the Blacberry Map? What other apps you have that are using Location Services?

  • Location services related to router?

I have been unable to get my iPad to work at home with my Linksys wireless WRT160N router.  The iPad works with several public routers and even with my neighbors Linksys 54G wireless router.  I've been around the barn with Linksys (not our problem) and my Internet service provider (also not our problem) and Apple support (not our problem).  Apple seems to think that the problem is with the router itself and I should replace it.
My question is: for those of you using Location Services successfully in your home on your home network, what router are you using?  Make and model please.  If this problem with Location Services is related to specific routers as Apple claimed, maybe we can identify which ones work and which ones don't.  Tks for your help.

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
    Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html

  • How do you turn on location services for the Photos app?

I reset my location services and I need to reactivate the location services for those apps I want to use this function.  I have turned on location services for all other apps, including CAMERA, but I cannot figure out how to turn it back on for PHOTOS (Camera Roll).  This option did appear when I did the new iPhone5 setup, but I cannot get it back.  And PHOTOS is not listed in the apps shown under the Location Services setting page.  I set my wife's phone up too and the PHOTOS app is showing on her phones Location Services setting page.  Help please.

    Hi There
I had the same problem and actually I found out that in Location Services you need to Turn On the option for CAMERA, as there is no photos icon.
    Cheers

  • The location service of my iPod touch has been stuck

I've an 4G 32GB iPod Touch, iOS 6 it have a problem, my location service has been stuck on Caracas, but I'm on a trip now, and when I conect it on a wifi network and try to get some directions it give me the location of my house in caracas, plz help.
    Greetings from venezuela.

Are you connecting to a public network or your own rrouter that you brought with you?
For location the iPod uses the location of nearby wifi routers that are in Apple's database. You do not have to be connected to the network/router to use that router's location. Thus, it appears that the iPod can't see a nearby router that is in Apple's database. Apple continuously updated their database based on info they obtain from iPhones. No one has been able to find a way to inform Apple of a router or correct is location.
    If a public network

I have to turn off wi-fi and use ethernet (to make sure I have the fastest speed – the ethernet-speed – all the time). Why can't I define a location for my external IP-address at this location, so that Maps can use that location in location services?
Seems strange that there is no way to set your location though. Manually I mean. It is a desktop not a laptop so it doesn't move around.
You can set the Network priority to Ethernet, so even if you have both Ethernet and also Wi-Fi connected, it will use Ethernet.
That way you can leave Wi-Fi on for location services, but use your ethernet connection for the speed.
Go to System Preferences > Network
Select the gear wheel at the bottom and select the Set Service Order. Drag the connections in the order that you want to be priority.

  • IP address range of Microsoft Location Services API

    Hi,
I am developing a LOB windows 8.1 application. The windows 8 tablet device we are using needs to be locked down by IP address to the specific services that the application will use. I have not been able to find the IP address range for the Microsoft Location
    Sevices API uses (Windows.Devices.Geolocation namespace).
Does someone know where on the MS website this sort of information is held as I can't seem to find this information anywhere?
    Thanks

Probably you can find more information from here:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd464636(v=vs.85).aspx
As I understand system have a location service and when the app calls the service, the service query the location automatically.
If you still have questions about location service, perhaps ask at desktop forum is a better choice:
