I have problem that seems to be Firefox-specific: the url loads correctly but the page doesn't show. The other browsers are unaffected.

The page urls load properly but the pages generally don't show. I have been using Firefox 5 on Linux Mint 11. I have no idea which Firefox version I have on the Windows 7 PC as the Firefox "About Firefox" page doesn't display. Some web pages don't seem to be affected by the Firefox problem. As a workaround, I am using non-Firefox browsers like: on Linux- Konqueror, Opera, Seamonkey, Chrome; on Windows: Internet Explorer, Opera, Chrome; the iPod Safari and Android browser.

Try the following procedure:
Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

Keyboard-created emoticons not showing in Facebook since upgrading Firefox 9/12/2014. Will this be fixed? They show in other browsers.

I just upgraded to Firefox v32.0.1 yesterday, and I see that keyboard-created emoticons like smileys (colon +right parenthesis), winks, hearts, etc. are not displaying in Facebook on status messages or comments. This isn't just for new posts, but for old posts as well. They were visible before the upgrade, and now they are not. I believe this is a Firefox/Mozilla issue, not a Facebook one, as I just checked Facebook on two other browsers (Google Chrome and Internet Explorer), and the emoticons do display. If you hover the display:none; line then you will notice a check box that allows to disable this rule by removing the tick.
I'm not sure why it shows this display:none rule.
It is possible that a script that is supposed to process these lines isn't running (I see several data-xxx attributes that are usually there to be processed by a script).
It is also possible that there is a problem with the cookies or that a different setting is used.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the affected files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

Apple removed "Reset Safari" menu option in Safar 8.
In it's place there is "Clear History and Website Data".

There are several sites which Firefox will not load images. The rest of the site loads correctly, but the images simply do not appear.

(There is no error message, loading message etc, just white space). These images load correctly in Safari . The sites include target.com, gap.com & garnethill.com and are the item photos for specific items listed on the site. I've tried many of the troubleshooting tips. help!

I have gone to the window pop-down to 'previous recipients' and deleted that addressee as well as all the email addresses it is assigning to that name. I have also deleted the account entirely from my address book. I have have run repair permissions and also full defrag in iDefrag. Still the problem persists. Any suggestions?

I noticed you posted this problem quite a while ago and wondered if you managed to have it fixed in an alternative way then posting here. It is too bad no one has posted a solution here. The external DVD/CD Writer will Not appear on your desktop when you attach it to your iMac. It will appear in "Finder", which is in your Dock.

Thanks for taking the time. Unfortunately no that does not solve it. Same as swipe it will get me there and it will show separate programs spaced out. The issue I am having is that all my open word files are bunched up in a pile on top of each other. I can see the edges of each one but I want them to be separated from each other enough that I can visually identify what file is what.

I would be concerned too if I was not able to gain access to my iPad. If you are unsure what your Apple ID is, you can find the steps in this article:

You need a computer with iTunes installed to regain use of your iPod. Unless you have the iPod backup file from the syncing computer all you can do is to restore the iPod to factoery defaults/new iPod. You will also need to place the iPod in recovery mode is you restore the iPod on other than on its syncing computer. For reoverymode see:

Remember the passcode is a security feature.
