With iTunes 11 you can enable the left-hand sidebar via control-S on a PC, option-command-S on a Mac. If you are trying to get it to the iBooks app then with the sidebar enabled the process should be similar to how it was on previous versions of iTunes e.g. add it to your iTunes library via File > Add To Library, connect the iPad and select it on the left-hand sidebar, and then use the Books tab on the right-hand side to select and sync it to the iBooks app.

Thankfully there is a way of doing this without iTunes getting in the way.
Copy the PDF files to DropBox, then on iPad open the DropBox app and open the PDF.
Then click the Download button and choose Open In .... Kobo
I can't believe that Apple removed from iTunes 11 the section below Apps for "copy files to these Apps" such as Kobo.
I've been a great fan of all things Apple since switching from Windows 5 years ago, but tricks like this are putting me off big time, seriously looking at Android for Mobile, and Linux for Laptop now. -
Hi I'm new to iPhone and iTunes - I'm trying to sync some music from my PC to my iPhone. I've looked on the net and all the advice says: look at the sidebar and find your device. Easier said than done, The sidebar on my version of iTunes, downloaded today, has only musice related information. I am supposed to click on my device, there is nothing remotely like that on my sidebar, what do I do now?

On the sidebar, "Devices" will only appear when your iPhone is connected to the computer. -
I bought a new MacBook Pro (Mac Os 10.8.4) when conecting my mobile broadband dongle (Huawei E122) the computer does not read it at all. I do not have problems when connecting it to my former computer (PC) and a Mac from last year. Any suggestions?

Yes, I did that. They have uppgrades for the dongles, but just untill Mac Os 10.7. Their solution is to buy a new modem from them or getting one for free if I sign a contract for 24 months! So, i think from that side not very helpful.
It is just that I do not want to buy a new modem, when it works in quite recent computers and after having spent money in the new Mac.

I have recently updated my computer since my old one broke and therefore had to download a new iTunes. When I came to add my iPod to this new iTunes, I was given no option to transfer the contents of my iPod library to this new iTunes and was forced to try 'sync'; when my old computer was repaired once we lost all of our data so I had to download a new iTunes then,all of my iPod downloads were transferred and I could easily reburn my CDs so I didn't think the wiping of my iPod would be a problem. When I clicked 'sync' it warned me that it would replace the contents of my iPod with the new iTunes library, as I said I didn't think this would be a problembut then it asked if it should transfer my recent iTunes downloads so I said 'yes'. The sync was completed but now I only have 4 downloaded songs and 5 albums which I burned to my new iTunes! I have lost all the music I bought, all the videos I bought and all the audiobooks I bought! (Luckily I still have my apps.) I tried to restore backup but realised that only covers calendars, contacts E.T.C and I checked my iTunes account and that shows all my downloads but I can't see a way to restore them or anything like that!
Please help! I am in despair as you can imagine how much moneys worth I have lost and am losing faith in AppleCorrect. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.

i find the new look quite un-user friendly. also cannot see my summary tab anymore.You have to update to 10.6.8 first.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the other ID. When you delete the account it will prompt you about what to do with the iCloud data. If you need to migrate it and merge it with the data in the new account choose Keep on My iDevice; then choose Merge to upload the data and merge it with the new account. If your data is already in the other account and you don't need to migrate it to the other account, choose Delete from My iDevice.

The original itunes I was using is no longer available because the computer it was on is now broken so I ended up creating a new itunes on the laptop but I haven't updated my ipod because I was afraid that all my apps on my ipod would disappear..if I had free apps I would be fine but I have some apps that I paid for so I don't want to update just yet. So when I sync my ipod with the new itunes, will my apps on my ipod disappear?

I just want to summarise a little here so that other can be sure what is expected when comes to this issue....
1. To transfer your purchases from iPod, iPad or iPhone, 1st U have to connect your iPod for this instance to your PC. Once connected, you should see your iPod name appeared on the left column in iTune. Do a right click on your iPod to Transfer your purchase to this NEW iTune. Since is a new iTune, all your Apps from your iPod will be transfer to here...
2. Once transfer is completed, you should see all Apps in iTune now. Before you syn, you may choose what you want to syn to your iPod by checking the box next to the Apps. So eventually those that are not check will remain in your iTune together with those you have syn. Since they are purchased Apps ( Free/Paid ) it will remain in your account unless you choose to delete them via iTune. -

Do you mean iTunes library?
iTunes account is what you use to make iTunes purcahses.
iTunes library is what is on your computer.

No, it tells you it can only be sync'd with one iTunes library.
Simplest way is to copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder (thisis the iTunes library) from old computer to new computer. -

I have updated my phone to 4.3.3 and I was told there would be more bells and whistles. I haven't found more texting sounds. Have I updated my phone wrong or just not completed it all the way? Please help me. Still trying to figure this iphone 3G out.
You have the iPhone 3GS, not the 3G. The last update to support the iPhone 3G is 4.2.1.
iOS 4.3.3 includes bug fixes etc. There is nothing really special about this update that wasn't introduced in iOS 4.3. iOS 5 is the one to wait for - it will be released in the Autumn/Fall and includes over '200' new features/improvements.
The additional text tines and ringtones were an iPhone 4-only feature. -

The same way it was done in every previous version.
Connect the device to the computer.
Right click on the device in iTunes and select Transfer Purchases.
Why would you lose any content by syncing with iTunes?

I updated my 4s to ios7 and the phone is now completly dead. I tried to restore it with the new itunes but it won't restore. If you can't get the download be glad! Anyone have any ideas other than going out and buying a new Samsung phone? I don't really need a paper weight.
No not jailbroken. After the update which took about 45 minutes. The phone went black. Dead. Wouldn't restart. Using the new itunes I tried to restore it. It went through the motions; the white Apple and progress bar appeared on the iphone screen. Then I got a message "Itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. You must restore this iphone before it can be used with itunes." Then the phone went completly dead again. I Repeated the process and got the same results. Is there another way to restore the phone if it's dead, besides itunes?
