I have problems reading some of my favorite journals

I have problems reading some of my favourite journals.
Only the very first pdf page can be read when I open it in Safari, and I have to use the browser. You can find an example here: http://ojs.statsbiblioteket.dk/index.php/mediekultur/issue/current

- Try going to Setings>Store and sign out of the account and then sign back in.
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

I'm going to guess videos buffer for a while also...
Two possibilities, one is you should close apps on the iPad, the other is your internet speed is not able to handle the demands of a high speed device.
To close apps:   Double click home button, swipe up to close the apps.
To solve internet problem, contact your provider.   Basic internet is not enough for video games and movies.   Your router may be old and slow.

  • Does anyone have problems with some websites where text is overwritten and it is impossible to navigate the site as the buttons to for example confirm purchases do not work?

I am having problems with some websites - e.g. Easyjet and more recently the Sport Relief website, where the text overwrites other text and images and it means it is impossible click to accept, confirm or find further information?

  • Problems reading some CD's

Hi there. I think I'm in the right forum. My imac is having problems playing some cd's. An example would be that I have a 3 disc set and 2 of the cd's played. It's just music cd's so it should be fine. The imac just ejects the cd after trying to read it. Any ideas? The cd itself looks fine, no damage at all.

I'm starting to have the same problem with my iMac drive. When I try to copy some CDs to iTunes, the drive makes crazy scratching noises and takes insane amount of time to copy the disk. The transfer is full of skips and is practically unlistenable. When I try the same disk in my MacBook, it is transferred in a snap without any problems. These are BRAND NEW disks! Very frustrating!

  • After installing version 6.0.1 i have problems with some webpages that don't open or it doesn't charge internal pages of the same website

I have problems working with this website that I use every day for my work since the latest version of Firefox was installed on my PC (6.0.1) previosly I had 5.0 version and worked fine with no trouble at all
    http://www.m3profesional.com/
its a Real estate site and when i open the site and request a list of properties I need to check, the next page does not charge the info, only the header of it.

cor-el, I started Firefox in the Safe Mode as recommended. It looked and worked fine. Same after I closed and reopened it. As suggested, I shut down and restarted and so far it is operating "normally." Pages open on the first try and the back button works just fine. The double headers are gone and all my Bookmarks are in place. I did not change any settings or stop any functions (add-on's, etc).
Hopefully this has solved the issue. Only time will tell. Thanks for your help. I also have a long list of other things to try from Safe Mode if the issue returns.
I appreciate your prompt help. Larry.

  • Problems reading some pdf files in Playbook

    Hi
I have downloaded some PDF bus timetables and maps from the website of our local operator but found some problems in opening a few of the files -strange error messages or just grey screens
However I have just found that the app qPDF opens the "problem" files successfully
So maybe there is a problem with the Playbook version of Adobe or perhaps a problem with the latest OS...???
But anyway qPDF has got me to where I wanted to be
    Peter

I have had problems opening the same bus schedules Peter mentioned above. Most of the schedules on that companies routes open without problems with Adobe Reader.
I get an email notification of my cable bill. When I go to the website to open the Pdf bill, it only opens page 2 of the bill, page 1 is blank. Before the last update, my bill opened fully with Adobe Reader. I will be looking at qpgf

  • If you use external hard drives and have problems, read this

    My setup is :
Power Book G4 running Mac OS X 10.4.10, with the latest version of iTunes.
Since I have a huge amount of music, that I have aquired during the past 25 years, I was very excited, when finally an iPod with a decent HD was released.
As you know, 70,000+ songs will not fit on your internal HD in a Power Book, so I had to move my music collection to two external Firewire HDs.
Synching a subset of my 'overall collection' to my good old G3 iPod has never been an issue.... that was, until I hooked up my 160 GB iPod classic for the first time...
I ran into all kinds of issues, especially, when synching a huge amount of songs at one time (i.e. 26,000 songs and more).
The data on the iPod would be incomplete or corrupted, once the Synch was completed.
The iTunes helpdesk was clueless and had me restore my iPod, even after I have told them several times, that I have done this before (many times) and that this definitely was not the issue.
As mentioned in other threads, iTunes is unbearably slow, once a 160 GB iPod classic is connected. And as it turns out, the problem occures when transferring songs through this VERY slow application, from the firewire drives, to the iPod which is connected through USB. After a certain amount of songs, iTunes starts 'stuttering' (if I have to look at the 'spinning wheel' for another 15 minutes, I will lose my mind) and somehow the data transfer between iTunes and the iPod gets corrupted.
Hence, once the Sync is finally completed (we are talking about 5 hours), the iPod is no longer able to play any songs, and all that can be done, is resetting the iPod again and start from scratch.
How Apple missed this, during their beta testing, is beyond me. They probably only used the latest intel processors on their fastest machines.
So if you run into similar issues, and if you have a similar setup, you might want to start synching small batches of songs.
I hope, a fine tuned iTunes version will be released soon.

When I first experienced this problem it appeared as though everything was transferring correctly. The progress dialogue showed that I was transferring a few thousand songs and then stop. When I looked at the ipod it showed only a few hundred (if that) had been transferred. This was about a year ago that I had this problem.
I think what is happening is that the software is setting up the transfer but not actually transferring the files until the very end. Seems weird I know, but the problem was consistent. It only happened when I had the setting to transfer the album art selected.
Apple was no help. But when I plugged the sync cable directly into the computer everything worked fine. I would think that a good powered hub would work as well as being plugged directly into the computer, or at least using the outlets on the back of my Apple display, but that is not the case.
I don't know what to suggest about USB 1. Before USB 2, Apple used firewire with all of their ipods because USB was sooo slow. When USB caught up (or close enough) they changed the interface.
You might try unselecting the option to sync album art. I know that the new interface looks pretty ugly without it, but at least you would have your music.

  • I downloaded firefox 5 and have problems with some of the features i had with firefox 4 with my webroot. how do i get rid of firefox 5 and go back to firefox 4?

i want to get firefox 4 back on my system. i do not like firefox 5 as it will not allow certain functions with my webroot that i used with version 4

McAfee have taken the decision to rewrite the Firefox SiteAdvisor plugin to make it easier to update. This should ensure that Mozilla's fast-release schedule does not cause lengthy delays after future version updates. What it means for Firefox now though is that until the rewrite is complete - and tested - SiteAdvisor is being prevented from loading in Firefox in order to avoid the possibility of software incompatibility.
The SA rewrite is projected to take a few weeks to complete and test; it should be ready by about the third week of July, although the exact date is not being given at this stage. It could be earlier.
In the meantime, users who are concerned about the safety of websites may wish to consider WOT as a temporary substitute. WOT ratings are set by user consensus rather than by automated site testing, so WOT is not a full replacement for SiteAdvisor. It is, however, a good rating tool in its own right (I use both it and SiteAdvisor in all my browsers) and is apparently unaffected by the upgrade to FF5.
There is a discussion about this on the McAfee forums [https://community.mcafee.com/thread/36733?tstart=0 HERE]

  • Problems reading some (but not all) files on a Windows-formatted CD

I've been trying to read a CD (that was burned from a Windows machine) with 2 folders of photos on it- I can see all the files in one of the folders but none of the files in the other. I tried running the same CD on a Windows machine and it reads both folders fine. Any idea what the problem might be?

ISO 9660 is the most readable format. Joliet is usually, UDF is a mixed bag. The software called Read DVD supports UDF on Macs:

Shuffling data with FAT32 formatted thumb drives is more reliable than CD.

  • Im have problems with some sights not playin videos

I tried bringn up my game alliance warfare online n it keeps havn problems with flashplayer

    Hi Kgeiger5324
In order to help figure out your problem, could you please let us know:
    * Site url of your game
    * Your Android phone model (e.g. Nexus 5, Samsung S5)
    * Your Android OS version (e.g. 4.1 kitkat, 4.2 kitkat, 2.3 gingerbread etc)
Bear in mind that Flash player is no longer officially supported for Android other than security fixes; so flash player is stuck on version 11 which means any games or websites that require flash player > version 11 probably will never work.

  • Problems with some PDF files

    Hi,
I have problems with some PDF files. After clicking on link to the file Safari shows me insted of normal document (which is working on Windows) hashes, numbers etc like it was a problem with coding or something. First I was using Preview, I though that maybe installing Acrobat Reader with plugins will solve the problem, but ofcourse it didn't. Did somebody has this same problem?

    Back up all data.
Please triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    defaults delete -app Safari WebKitOmitPDFSupport
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Quit Safari. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing the key combination command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear below what you entered. You can then quit Terminal. Test.

  • Others have problem viewing web.me website

Other people are either having problems viewing my website in its entirety, or they are having difficulty viewing certain blog posts. I am seriously considering changing to another blog.

I am upset that I have wasted $100 for the year.
If you're referring to the yearly fee for MobileMe then that's not true. It's not MobileMe that the problem. It's IE.
You can dumb down your web site to the lowest denominator, i.e. Internet Explorer, and can have your site viewable by all browsers. If your site is a commercial site then possible the use of iWeb and MobileMe is not the best choice. As already pointed out iWeb adheres very closely to web standards, almost to a fault some would say. So any browser that has not kept up with those standards will have problems to some degree or another.
As for MobileMe, it's primarily geared towards the social networking that it provides and has a lot of server side stuff going on that makes it slower and more iffy than commercial hosting services like HostExcellence, GoDaddy, etc.

  • Problems reading RAW format after update 6.03

I have problems reading RAW format images into Iphoto 9.6 after update 6.03 or maybe earlier updates (have not imported for a few months). The images show up like half, black or partly distorted. I use a Canon 5D mk2 camera. The images looks okey when read into a PC so I don´t think it is the camera or cables. It has been working very good before! I use a Powerbook pro 13 late 2011 with Yosemite 10.10.1.

Try downgrading back to 6.02 by following the directions in this post by léonie:

Make a backup of your system and try to downgrade the RAW support to version 6.01
To downgrade the RAW Support to the last version from before the last update try this:
To reinstall the 'RAW Compatibility Update' it is necessary to uninstall the currently installed raw support. Otherwise the installer will rightfully say, that you already have the latest version installed.
If your tests are showing that the problem happens also in a different user account, try this:
The RAW support files are installed in the System Library in the folder "/System/Library/CoreServices" Folder:
To open this folder, use the Finder's "Go" menu. Click the smiling Finder icon in the Dock to bring the Finder forward.
Then type the keyboard shortcut ⇧⌘G  (for "Finder > Go > Go to folder")  and copy and paste "/System/Library/CoreServices" into the text field. Click the "Go" button.
In the Finder window that will open, delete both the files "RawCamera.bundle" and "RawCameraSupport.bundle". You will have to enter your Administrator password. (don't empty the Trash, so you can put the files back, if need be)
Download the current RAW support update from Apple's Support Site:
Digital Camera RAW Compatibility 6.01 http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1777?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
In the Downloads folder you will find the disk image with the installer. Double click it to open and run and the installer.
    Then restart your Mac.
