I have put new batteries in my wireless keyboard but what I type is not appearing on screen
I have put new batteries in my wireless keyboard but what I type is not appearing on my I Mac screen. Any suggestions as
I can not even enter my password into the computer?
Try turning off the keyboard for a minute then turn it back on.
If that doesn't help, remove the keyboard from System Preferences > Bluetooth
Then re "pair" the keyboard to your Mac.

I have turned Home Sharing on for two computers, but the "Shared" area is not appearing on either computer. What does this mean? What do I do? I am trying to get music from one library into another library to sync with my ipod so that I can have all songs on the ipod from both libraries.
Thank you for your help!If you have the horizontal menu bar showing (File, Edit, View,...), select View, then select Show Sidebar.
If the menu bar is not showing, dorp down the menu in the very upper left corner and select show menu bar, then follow steps above.
Hope that helps. Good luck. -
I've just recently put in brand new batteries into my wireless Bluetooth mouse for iMac and it continuously disconnects itself and will then reconnect itself for only a few minutes, just to disconnect again. It's become impossible to use my computer as my mouse smoky won't connect itself for long enough to do anything. Anyone had this problem before and could help me out?
HI:
It does not sound like a battery problem.
Try a couple of things:
1. Reset the SMC
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
2. Reset (if you can) the PRAM
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405
If that does not help, delete the mouse in system preferences, turn it off, restart, and turn the mouse back on.
Barry
P.S. I only needed it once, but I have an old USB mouse in case my Bluetooth one decides to quit. -
Last night I changed the system preference to make you have to login when the computer is turned on. I somehow must have disabled my wireless keyboard. With the keyboard not registering, I can't login. I'm stuck at the login screen. (I don't know the operating system. It is an iMac G5, OSX something.)
If it's an iMac G5 (and not a recent Intel iMac), it originally came with a wired USB keyboard. You'll probably need to connect it or some other USB keyboard (it can be one from a Windows PC), so you can get passed that screen.
If you have not already, you can try turning OFF and turning ON the keyboard, while you are on the login screen -
Can someone help me, I have an imac and it suddenly wont recognise the wireless keyboard and tracker pad. Have just replaced batteries and hard resarted the mac but wont work. I have tried another wireless mouse which works but dont have another keyboard. It is password protected so cant get in to do urgent work. Help please.
Hello,
You could try booting from the install disk #1 (holding down the "C" key while starting up with the disk in) that came with it and then running disk utility to repair the disk. Then restart.
Booting into safe mode (holding the shift key right after the startup tone) and then after it comes up in safe mode, restarting can also help this issue.
Booting into single user mode and running fsck may also help..

Hopefully it is just a simple error on your HD that is causing this problem.
(if you have already done all this before posting, i apologize for suggesting the obvious first... im new to this board and just trying to help!)
Hopefully this helps!

I replaced batteries in my wireless keyboard but it will not sync.
I can not get pass my log in screen as I need to enter my login password to continue. Not easy to do when the keyboard will not connect. HELP
You may need to get & use a USB wired keyboard to check
the settings in the System Preferences, and to also double
check the status of the computer all together.
Depending on what the computer is, and OS X it runs, the
answers may vary; also we have a hard time with any
discussions without any product info or other identifiers.
Details matter -
My keyboard will connect wirelessly but my mouse will not. I have tried many times, put new batteries in etc. The Bluetooth appears to be on (as the wireless keyboard is working). I don't have a 'wired' mouse so I can't get into preferences etc. Is the mouse dead perhaps? The green light is flickering so it should be ok???
Thank you for your help
Sully (frustrated Irishman)From what you say I would suggest the batteries are not connecting properly.
First, thoroughly clean all contacts, both inside the mouse and the contact points of the batteries. Use an alcohol based cleaner (whisky will do, hic!) dampen (not wet) cotton buds for cleaning.
Then check to see if they fit firmly. If you can shake your mouse and hear things are loose, that will be the batteries. Check the make. Apple and Duracell, in that order, are the best batteries. Where slight undersizing has been reported they are with other than the foregoing.
You can resolve the size problem with appropriate packing but that will always be a makeshift solution. After, reassemble, turn on the mouse and with luck, away you go.
Hopefully this will solve your problem but in any case let us know how you get on.

I am using Photoshop CS5 on a new iMac with a wireless keyboard. I used to be able to hit F11 to perform a custom sharpening action but now the F11 key is the volume control key and I have tried everything to disable or switch the volume key. I have also tried assigning other function keys to initiate the action. Is there a simple solution to this? What am I missing?
Try unmounting the volume on your iMac using Disk Utility. Then mount it again. You may need to reboot the laptop or relaunch its Finder process (using the Force Quit window) after remounting the drive on your iMac. Remember that no process may be accessing any files on the drive you plan to unmount, or the unmount will fail. Unmounting and remounting an external drive on my iMac made it become visible on my MacBook Pro after it had disappeared.

Edge has very clear restrictions, one being that you must have 6 months of clean payment history which you don't. Either wait until April 14, or good luck at Sprint.
I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions. -
I have put new music on my iTunes folder on my apple desktop. I have iTunes Match but the music has not shown up on my iPhone. My iCloud is turned on. All my music initially did go to my iPhone
Try posting in the iTunes Match forum, you'll probably find more knowledgeable folks there. iTunes Match is a different service from iCloud.

I have new iMac with a wireless keyboard. It doesn't have a "Scroll lock`' key (hot key) which I need to work a shared printer controlled by a manual share switch. does anyone have any suggestions to help please?
There is a key combination that operates the scroll lock function on your keyboard, try it and see if it works:
The reason that the manual switch is mapped to the scroll lock is because it is a rarely used (sometimes never used) function, unfortunately that is exactly why it is vanishing, gone on some keyboards already.Consult the documentation for the switch, see if the function controlled currently by the scroll lock key can be remapped to another key. -
I have a new Panasonic TV with wireless capabilities. When I connect via my AirPort Extreme and access Netflix the connection is lost after about 5 minutes. I have moved the AirPort, shut down all other computers that use AirPort for wireless connection. How to rectify?

I have lost my iPhone on August 27, 2013 at 6:15 a.m. when I posizioned it on the strip for the scanner objet of Linate Airport.
After about 10 minutes when I was already on the plane my friend tried to call my number but the phone was already off.
By searching with the "Find my iPhone" system, the device is OFFLINE and does not appear on the map.
I have already written to the lost property office of the Linate Airport but at the moment they do noto have yet responded.
I have already forwarded the complaint to the police.
How can I find out it if my iPhone 5 is offline?
Thanks in advance for the answer.

I just purchased my first iPad (the new one) and a wireless keyboard. Is there a keyboard usage manual available anywhere that shows the functions of the keys? The info that came with the keyboard was very basic and my searches have been unsuccessful.
If you are using a Bluetooth keyboard on your iPad device, you should take advantage of the keyboard shortcuts for quicker access to copy, cut, paste, undo, redo, and other commands.
Command + C : Copy Selected Text
Command + V : Paste
Command + X: Cut Selected Text
Command + Z: Undo
Command + Shift + Z: Redo
Command + Delete: Delete everything to the left of the cursor on the current line
Option + Delete: Delete the word to the left of the cursor
Command + Up Arrow: Go to top of document
Command + Down Arrow: Go to bottom of document
Command + Left Arrow: Go to beginning of current line
Command + Right Arrow: Go to end of current line
F1: Dim screen
F2: Brighten screen
F7: Back one song
F8: Play/pause song
F9: Skip song
F10: Mute
F11: Decrease volume
F12: Increase volume
Eject button: Show or hide onscreen keyboard

New mac mini and wireless keyboard
how do I set up a new mac mini and wireless keyboard at the same time?
Since the Mac Mini does not come with a Monitor, Keyboard or Mouse those are needed when setting up a Mac Mini. I don't know what brand wireless KB you have or if that even matters.
I have an Apple wireless keyboard (bluetooth), Apple magic trackpad (bluetooth), and Dell DVI monitor. When I initially booted my new Mac Mini, the screen showed it searching for bluetooth devices. It found the keyboard first and then a few seconds later, the mouse. So, I had all devices to finish setup of the Mini.
