I have really messed up ipad

As reported earlier I tried to update my husband's ipad 1 to a higher level software.  He did not know his apple id so I used my apple id to update software via my MacBook Pro.  After the update we noted that not all items were accessible (only a third of his photos were visible).  The ipad after update showed no available memory remaining.  I tried deleting several apps but they were not successfully deleted.
I then tried to connect the ipad to my MacBook again and now everything appears frozen.  I cannot even get into his system.  To shut off Ipad I must hold down home and off buttons.  When I power back up I only have twirling wheel.  Any assistance appreciated.
Thanks

My husband does not remember his apple id and I can no longer get any response from the ipad.  Is there any solution?
Thanks

    You never have to pay to reinstall a Mac's original OS. If that was Snow Leopard or earlier though, you need its original discs.
    If the Mac was built after Lion was released, about August 2011, boot OS X Recovery - using two fingers hold the ⌘ and R keys while starting your Mac. When the Mac OS X Utilities screen appears, select "Reinstall Mac OS X".

    Tap on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Store if it's on iOS 6) and logout of your account, and then do Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings

    With the iPad, make sure Bluetooth is turned on, Settings > General > Bluetooth - ON
    Turn the keyboard on and see if the iPad recognizes it and pairs.

    Going from Lion to Mountain Lion is considered an upgrade (because it is not free), not an update.
    So yes, given that you have Lion, you are up to date.  But if you can, you might consider going to Mountain Lion for a fee.
    Here's what you need to do the upgrade:

    Help!  I upgraded to Maverick and now my emails are really messed up.  It flagged over 5,000 emails that I have never flagged.  Now, it shows a message from someone this morning, but the content is an email that I received years ago.  My Iphone and Ipad are fine.  Any ideas?  I can't read mail off of my macbook because the email isn't what these people are sending!  Help!

    Thanks one again. I know you helped me the last to. I do have the Deja Vu font set in my folder. I downloaded and the last time. So I don't know if there is supposed to be more or not, but those were installed with Windows-XP after my reformat.
    This is really driving me nuts. as I've done several re-formats on my computer and several friends computers and even upgraded hardware so I am not necessarily a software or programming expert, I am somewhat advanced when it comes to computers in general and can usually diagnose the problem but these font's are the problem and they never were before.
    I did see in another forum that if you had a Dell Computer and did the Microsoft update for the onboard video card driver that it could be the culprit, but I have that disabled being I have a much better graphics card so the updates from Microsoft for the onboard video weren't installed.
    It' a Dell Dimension 3000 with an Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller so I don't believe it is the culprit being it is disabled. The actual video card that I am using is a PCI Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT with 1 GB Memory. And I didn't have any problem before.
    I appreciate the help. But still can't get things to work. Live Help Chat doesn't open for another two hours so maybe they can do "Remote Access" or something and can check setting and help me. But if you come up with other suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks again.

    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
  • Do i have to charge my ipad overnight
    do i have to keep my ipad on charge overnight
    The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
    Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
    How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
    At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night.   • I have my daughter's iPad that she has asked me to up-date for her.
    Tried to tell her it is never that easy, and maybe impossible.
    I see instructions say to use "update" option (settings, general), of course, that option is not on the iPad. What is plan "B"? I have looked at other iPads around the office, NO ONE has an up-date option, must just be me...
    This looks like it is a cat & mouse game, I see lots of people are having very same issue around the internet and the other instructions I see as to what to do are connect it to a mac and iTunes will pop up. Really...? I tried plugging it into my mac notebook, iTunes does not pop up. Nope, nada!
    Is there an update option in the the internet browser?
    I went to "About" and under version it says 4.3.2. I guess you have to assume that is the IOS, it is not labeled as such so it is not clear that is the IOS version.
    I would assume you back it up and update it, but I nor my IT department knows step one...
    Like I said, "UPDATE" is not an option under general.
    Is up-date even an option?
    I was afraid I did not make my question clear enough.
    The UPDATE option is not on the screen. If I was able to post a screen shot, you would not see an UPDATE option, because it is not there.
    UPDATE is not an available choice.
    There is NO UPDATE button to push.
    If you go to the settings, general, you can not see any tab or button that says "UPDATE".
    UPDATE is absent from the choices available. There is no tab or choice whatsoever for UPDATE.
    Furthermore.....
    When I connect her iPad to my MacBook, iTunes does not come up.
    When the USB cable is connected between the MacBook and the iPad, the iPad shows it is charging, but nothing else happens (well a download media window pops up) but NO ITUNES.
    ITunes does not open when I link the MacBook and the iPad.
    Does this mean the iPad is not updatable?
  • Is a PDF reader really necessary on iPad?
    Is a PDF reader really necessary for iPad? I haven't needed one yet ... I don't think.
    Depends on what you want to do with the PDF's and how you're getting them on the iPad. Originally, when the iPad came out in spring of 2010, there was no native PDF reader (except for emailed PDF's). Goodreader was one of the first apps to cater to PDF reading, and others came up, so there are a number of PDF apps. As time went on iBooks was given PDF ability, and for most people that's fine, but apps such as Goodreader have additional features.
    If you haven't needed one yet, don't worry about it - just use iBooks or the mail reader. If you find yourself in need of a more sophisticated app, then just visit the App Store and see what meets your needs.
    My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!
    Hello ConfusedLlama
    If the password is not working to get into your iPad mini, you would need to follow the steps to restore it. If you have a back up through iCloud or through iTunes, you can restore from that back up and it would not bring back the passcode unless it is encrypted.
