I have recently been having problems using Firefox: it continually gives a "Not Responding" message.

I have been having problems using Firefox for the past few months:
Whenever I log on, I get a "Not Responding" message, and Firefox "freezes." I then have to "click" my mouse several times to again be able to use Firefox - but only for a few minutes. Firefox then freezes again and shows another "Not Responding" message.
Because of this repeated "crashing," I have been using I.E. as my browser, because it does NOT have any such problems.
How can I FIX this problem with Firefox?

Hi prime_anthony and thank you for asking. I do not think this is a Firefox limitation because I have been accessing my OWA too via Firefox on a Linux machine. I can login using my domain account and password without any problem and without using IE-Tab add-on.
It probably depends on the version of the Outlook Web Access or the Exchange Server. Newer versions of these already have Firefox supported.

I want to remove an add on becauase I've been having problems with FIrefox locking up since I installed. How the heck does one remove an add-on. I hate to be stupid but I cannot figure out how to uninstall an add on

I've been having problems with Firefox 4.0 locking up pretty much since I installed it. I did add a few add-ons and all I can think of to do is to remove them. I can't figure out how to get rid of them.

Well, When I click on Add-ons I don't get a list of add-ons. AN Add-ons tab opens which shows lots of other great add-ons but I can't get a list os ones that I've installed and have no option to remove. I'm on version 4.0. Maybe the "remove" as described is for an earlier version?

My Firefox won't quit and gives a "not responding" message after I use Google Mail. I have tried starting in "safe" mode and the problem still occurs.

I have an issue where Firefox wont' quit and gives a "not responding" message after I have been using Google Mail. It works fine when I am not using that program. I have tried Safe Mode and the problem still happens when I go to Google Mail, so it is not connected with add-ons, extensions, etc.

I then decided to try and reload the Canon printer drivers and for some silly reason I deleted the existing Canon printer drive. Now I cannot load them from the CD provided with the printer or from downloads through the Apple store. If anyone out there could help me I would be greatly appreciated......

These Canon printer/scanner drivers from Apple - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL899 - should work. The MP250 is listed on the support page. Try downloading and installing them.

Have you been having problems with your ipod nano 3rd gen? got a windows xp computer? is your pc not recognizing it? I think i may have the solution. After 2 2 hour calls to apple tech support they were stumped. we reset it again and again, reinstalled itunes again and again. and they had no solution for me. I went to my device managerand there was a device called (apple Ipod USB driver) with a yellow exclamation point. I tried updating driver but to no avail. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing. But then I had an epiphany. I went to the device manager right clicked the apple ipod usb device clicked properties then update driver. Hardware wizard went up and I chose not to install automatically. and i chose to install driver manually. and then I installed a generic usb mass storage driver in its place and presto!!! it worked! it was instantly recognized by itunes and it took me to the registration page. I did what the apple support team wasn't able to do for 4 hours. I wonder if they're accepting applications... Anyway i hope this helps anyone out there cause i know i went through a lot of stress.

the driver is just a regular usb mass storage driver. it's in your computer. it's just a matter of installing it manually where it saya to include the location of the driver click browse and choose c:\windows\system32

Unpower it. If it still happens on a restart give it time - Apple's servers sometimes have glitches.

Problem with "Shockwave Flash is busy or not responding" message

I am getting the "Shockwave Flash is busy or not responding" message, visiting the site on which I am working on for one client. Site is http://www.puntacanajustsafari.com/
I have installed one flash widget for weathercast and imediatelly after installing I have got the message "Shockwave Flash is busy or not responding" - browser, buttons, scrolling - everything simply freeze! Few minutes just standing by, not responsive, and then eventually page start to scroll normally. Since then I changed widget position, made it to show on tour page only ( http://www.puntacanajustsafari.com/punta-cana-jeep-tour/ ) but after facing the same problems with flash thing I have removed it completely and installed one other widget and made separate page for weather information, that seems to work nicely (for now).
Problem is that I am still geting "frozen" page when visiting home page and tour page, even after clearing the page cashe and removing widget. This is happening on both browsers that I use (firefo and IE) so I am partially sure that is not a browser problem. This is first time happening to me, if somebody can figure out what to do, I would appreciate it.

Clear your browser's cache and cookies. I'm not seeing any issues in Firefox, Chrome or IE

How do I make Firefox stop crashing and giving "not responding" messages. I don't want to reset it because I've got lots of extensions. Other browsers work fine

Every few minutes it gives me a "not responding" message and/or it crashes. I've checked all my add-ons, they're all updated. I've tried accessing the same websites that crash on Firefox with other browsers and it works really well. I don't want to reset it as one of the troubleshooting solutions suggest because I'd rather change to another browser than having to re-install all my add-ons. Please, is there anything that can be done to fix this?

Also try to disable hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.

I am having problems using Firefox with Ebay in the last 10 days. The advanced search link is dropping off the page and there is no way to access it now.

I have been using Firefox and Ebay for at least 12 years with no problems whatsoever. But in the last 10 days I have been having trouble with the Advanced Search link disappearing from the page on Ebay. If I do a search from the Ebay home page it will show the results, but the Advanced Search link (in blue letters) which always used to appear to the right of the Search button is gone. If I click Search again at this point I can see the Advanced Search link appear for a millisecond, but then disappear just as quickly. Also, if I refresh the page the same thing happens. I tried to duplicate this problem with Internment Explorer and it didn't occur, so it appears to be Firefox that is causing this issue. Of course when I contacted Ebay they told me my problem was that I wasn't using Internment Explorer! I love Firefox and do not want to switch!

You can try to clear the cache and cookies to see if that makes a difference:

I have windows xp and am told firefox is already running, but not responding and I have to close existing firefox process or restat. neither works, suggestions?

I have gone to windows manager and deleted the firefox process.
I am able to use explorer and firefox as another user, but not on my primary account.

I'm having problems using Firefox when opening up PDF files that are called from jsp.

I'm trying to open my billing statement in pdf format. When I click on the link, Firefox 4 takes me to the dowload page and starts to download a readPDF.jsp file. How come Firefox is asking for that? When I use IE 7 I get no problems. Please advise on how to get Firefox to open jsp files automatically.

The "s" in "https" indicates the site is a secure server--usually a site that will require a password. Connections to secure servers can be blocked by parental controls. Are you using any parental controls, either through OSX's settings (in System Preferences) or third party parental control software (such as Netnanny)? If so, check the settings to make sure they will allow the connection.

At the very least there must be a "com.apple.ical.plist"...iCal would not function without it.
Click on the Finder icon in the dock
Click on Go > Home
Double-click Library
Double-click Preferences
Look for a file called "com.apple.ical.plist" and remove it to the trash.
