Unfortunately no. Due to privacy issues Apple does not trace devices (if it could) based on serial numbers. That's why Apple provided the Find My iPhone service to help find lost devices. But in your case, a dead battery defeats the service. All you can do is contact your carrier to ask that it block your service and inform the police. Do you have insurance for the iPhone?

I'm sorry, I don't understand your comment. Any computer program has at least 2 divisions. A Code division and a Data division. When we talk about the size of a program or operating system we mean the size of the Code division. The Data division will be of variable size, and can change dynamically. So the size of iOS when you download it is the size of the code. Other includes the data division of iOS, plus the data divisions of all apps that come bundled with iOS, plus the Safari cache, plus all email messages, plus all texts, plus all contacts, plus all calender events, plus all notes, plus all reminders, plus the music catalog, plus album art, plus data used by the iTunes & App stores, plus data used by the Genius feature, pus data used by Game Center, plus data used by Apple Maps (but not Google maps if you have it), plus a few things I've probably forgotten about.
Immediately after a new phone is activated, or after it is restored as new, Other still contains the data divisions of iOS. And if you have logged in to the iTunes and App stores during setup it contains the information from your account for those apps. And if you have logged in to iCloud it contains all of your iCloud contacts, calendar events, notes, reminders and email.

TS1702 Why can't I download any apps with my brand new Iphone?
I am new to the Iphone and for the life of me I am not able to download ANY apps to my phone. I have tried what I think is everything, but I'm sure I am missing something. I have have changed my setting to try and download off the cellular network, I have tried to download from my home network, I have tried at different locations, and nothing seems to be working. I have not been able to download anything.
Make sure your wifi is good on another device, go into the App Store app, tap Search to find a specific app, typethe name of the app after touching the text feild at the top, press Search, tap an app, press the button that says FREE or $.99, etc. then press it again to INSTALL. Now you wait for the download to end.
Unfortunately this process maychange this fall when the big App Store renovation hits, of course you have to choose to upgrade (for free). STAY LOYAL ...lol, I creep myslef out sometimes. -
I learned Apple replaces the whole Ipad when you need a new battery(for a fee) but doesit replace it with the same specs? e.g. memory and 3G capabilities.

I have two problems with my brand new iphone 3gs...
The first question I have is how do I get my phone to accept photos in text messages? I can send them but not receive them.
Second, I keep having No Service on my phone when my husband can be sitting beside me and have service on his. We both have Telus as a provider and he has an iphone 4 and I have the 3GS. Anyone else encounter similar issues? Thanks. I just got this phone so it's frustrating.I did have one on it, and I thought the same thing since then I have took the case off. Didn't help. The Apple phone support tech even asked if the on off button was stuck and had me press it, so I did and you can feel it push in and release fine.

How do I get it back.You are asking a question of a post that was written almost 3 years ago. At that time, there was no FaceTime app for iOS devices.
Try restoring the device to Factory Settings to see if the app shows up (do not restore using a backup):

I would like some advice what is wrong with my brand new iPhone 4?
Under settings/carrier the phone finds no networks?
The phone is activated i itunes with confirmation on the phone.
I tried to restore twice, airplane mode on/off uncountable number of times, restart 50+ times for four days nut still get the message "no service" and no carries found
The phone runs the latest iOS 4.1

Will I get a brand new iPhone 5 replacement?
Basically my iPhone 5 power button has a rattling noise which is annoying cause you could hear a tick when it vibrates. Also the phone sometimes blacks out and doesn't come back on. I didn't expect these issues after paying £430 for a brand new device. Will I get a replacement.
No one expects any issues with a brand new device regardless how much one pays for it. This is why there is a one year warranty - sometimes a problem is missed with quality control checks at the factory, and hardware can fail at any time.
Mercedes and BMW are expensive automobiles but when I drive by a Mercedes or BMW dealership, I see their repair shop full of vehicles and all are not out of warranty. -
Recently I bought a MacBook Pro, the first time I entered a disc into the disc dive it wouldn't load up in Itunes - just kept freezing; and the disc drive made a lot of noise, how can I fix this?
I've had my mac for less than a month and for the first time I put in a disc. I can hear a laser sort of noise as well as the disc flapping about or a motor sort of sound? Sounds really bad to me :/

Did you buy the system from Apple? If so how recent is recent? If it is new you have 14 days to return it, not sure what the situation is with refurb systems. If it is over 14 days you should still have warranty support make an appointment at an Apple Store or contact Apple support.
If you bought it from someone other then Apple you will need to contact them.

I have a brand new IPhone 4G. I can't get it to ring. I have gone into settings and disengaged vibrate, and have engaged the ring button on side of phone. But everytime I dial my number from a different phone, it doesn't ring. Rather the call goes directly into my voice mailbox (ogm heard immediately); not even one ring! Please advise
Well, if it goes to VM immediately the call isn't reaching your phone, so no wonder it isn't ringing. Do you see a network displayed in the upper left of the screen? Have you activated the phone by connecting to a computer with the latest version of iTunes? Have you called your carrier to make sure they have provisioned it correctly?

I have my iPhone 4s plugged into a dock and the dock connected to an amplifier with 2 speakers and a bass, the problem is that the amplifier doesn't have a volume changer and when i plug in the iPhone into the dock the iPhone´s volume bar disappears and im not allowed to change the volume and its very loud. how can i change the volume? is there an app? any ideas??(my dock doesnt have infrared remote controller )

Apple does not repair devices beyond replacing the screen on some models or a battery replacement. They replace the ENTIRE device.
For the Out of Warranty replacement cost, you could have gotten a fully functional replacement device. Instead you chose to spend less to get only the screen replaced and continue to live with additional issues.
Apple will not touch the device now. They will know that it was opened elsewhere and that the replacement screen is not original. -
I have recently updated my iTunes to the latest software. Since then my iphone will not sync with itunes, it doesn't show up in my computer any more either. The computer makes the bing sound as I plug in but i am unable to sync, how can I fix this problem?

Ever since i plugged my iphone into the computer, all of my music has been messed up. The songs don't have the right album cover i guess they all just got mixed up somehow. i dont know but its annoying and im not sure how to fix it.
