I have recently found it impossible to make a genius bar appointment on line. has anyone else had the same problem? is this a deliberate Apple policy? or have they accidentally put in a number of loops into their website?

It is my understanding that they're trying to get more information from you and offer other possible support options first. They probably want to cut down on unnecessary appointments by attempting to resolve simple issues online and are also trying to avoid some situations where people were booking multiple appointments for a variety of reasons.
I made one a couple of weeks ago with no problems. It was for a screen repair so it was pretty definitely not an issue that could be resolved by chat or a phone call.

I recently updated my Iphone 4s to the newest IOS and I now cannot turn on Wi-fi. Has anyone esle had the same problem? Is there a fix? I've tries restoring to a previous software update, but it appears the wi-fi was completely disabled and I do not have the ability to turn it on.
Apple is aware of the issue and is expected to release 7.0.3 next week to address iMessage issues.
In the meantime I have found that a good old fashion reset cures it for a while. -
ever since I installed Lion my internet connection comes and goes....have reported this to Apple Care who have helped me reset my connection but it is still happening...cant believe it is a fault of the ISP as my Iphone does not have this problem, nor does my PC laptop...is this a fault in the new system?
Thanks so much but none of that helped. It was driving me crazy because it would back up another external drive. I just changed the name of the drive from iPhoto/iTunes Library to Media Libraries and IT WORKED!! I guess for some reason it didn't like the drive being called iPhoto or iTunes ???? I don't understand but I have tried so many solutions and exchanging things out but the name change did it????!!!

I have recently updated to ios6. But safari browser is very slow ,even twitter, Facebook also facing the same problem also cannot accsess to some websites too.
Try these basic troubleshooting steps.
Quit all apps completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Or .... Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
For Safari ..... Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. -
I set up the primary language to English while initializing the MBP, but at the log-in page, the language appears to be a foreign language I don't use, after restart, the language turned into English, has anyone come across the same problem, and is that normal?
i have a similar problem...It seems to be tied to my guest account. It is set to Japanese as primary language but my main login is set to English. I tried changing the guest account to english but the change won't hold. It always reverts to Japanese.

Iphone 4 microphone not picking up sound properly. Is there a solution to this? Or anyone else having the same problem that have solved it.
Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new.
If you've gone through ALL the troubleshooting steps and you're still having the problem, then you most likely have a hardware issue and will need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation. -
I use an iMac 27" (mid 2011). Until recently I had OSX 10.6.8 installed, but both, the HDD and SSD had to be replaced, and I lost all the memory.
After the repair through Apple Care I had OSX 10.7.5. (Lion) installed, which developed a Magic Mouse problem.
Unlike with most users, I have no problems with connection, but grapple with a different kind of erratic behaviour.
All fancy stuff is turned off in the mouse preferences. When I try to move, open or close pages, unrelated submenus pop up and hinder the
required task. No matter how often I click, these menus stay there, and they even come up when clicking on the bare desktop.
It renders the mouse absolutely useless, as no work can be done with it.
The first 'Magic Mouse' had depleted batteries every few days, despite switching it off after use.
I was supplied a new Mouse, which does better battery-wise, but the problems are the same. I can't get a result by clicking on any link, due to
the pop-up menus, so both 'Magic Mice' are totally useless.
At present I am using the old USB mouse from my Mac Pro, and that works still o.k.
The problem are not the mice, but the software. The first 2 weeks after installation of OSX 10.7.5 the Magic Mouse worked though.
I have no idea as to what the reason may be.
Has anyone in the community ever experienced that particular problem. Any hint would be welcomed.

Someone on this forum suggested, that USB3 may interfere with the magic mouse.
I have 2 LaCie HDD's about 70 cm away from the mouse, I use them on Thunderbolt. But in operation or not - the result is the same, the mouse plays up! Just now I was clicking the desktop and the mouse created a new folder!!

I recently updated my software on my iphone 4 to the iOS 5 and ever since i have had no service. I have been on the phone constantly with at&t tech support and apple. Tech support cannot figure it out and said they think my problem has everything to do with the new software. Apple is saying it has nothing to do with the new software that it is probably something to do with my phone itself but i was not having this problem until i updated the new software. Is anyone else having this same issue and if so any ideas on how to fix it?
Yeah, it´s happening in normal 3g coverage area, in fact, i used the 3g to download the iOS but after installing it, the phone doesn't get the 3g anymore.
I tryed the reboot pocess, but it didn't fix it
I haven't tryed the restore to factory settings process,
Is there a way to downgrade to iOS 5.1 again?

Siri is locking my iPhone 5 running ios6 after sending a text message using my Jawbone icon HD Bluetooth earpiece. Sometimes it will lock before the text is even sent. I have the auto lock turned off.
I have this problem too. Auto lock is off and Siri can be used from the lock screen but this defeats the purpose of hands free usage for example when you are on a bicycle and can't use the phone normally. After sending a message or a reply to one Siri locks the phone and you cannot hear new messages until you unlock the phone which can be potentially dangerous!
I'd love to see if there is a solution as I can't see any option in settings (either Siri settings or pass lock settings) to fix this. -
Is anyone facing problems with receiving calls? All my calls suddenly seem to be going into voicemail. I have tried everything possible. Can someone please suggest solutions.
Also - have you by any chance been using WiFi calling?

I was not able to respond to my respondent adequately enough to hope to receive a meaningful answer to my question. is this the norm with apple problems????
If you don't have the reply buttons in the screenshot you might have been timed out. If you started a reply copy it, refresh the page log back in. You get timed out every 30 minutes.

I am trying to copy one object from one lside to another slide in the same presentation. The only thing I get when pasting is a hyperink. Does anyone know how I can turn this off so that the image or the object is pasted as copied to the new slide?

As a workaround, use duplicate slide to get the same object in another slide, (select the slide in navigator and command D or right click > duplicate) -

My iphone 5 everytime i go into mail it comes up with - Cannot get Mail - the connection to the server failed- i then have to click ok - I am still receiving mail - it is driving me mad having to click this everytime - anybody else had the same problem and have found a solution - only stated happening since iPhone was updated .

has anyone else had the problem with getting your iphone to sync? i can't get any of my newly downloaded music to sync to my phone from my itunes and i tried to delete all my music and it won't even sync to do that. i dont know what to do.
try a new/fresh apple brand cable and make sure it is the only usb cable in use. this worked for me, i noticed i had no problem with a lighting cable. i did a restore from scratch and from backup and it did not help me...and if you cant sync than you wont be able to get anything but apps back after the restore
