I have recently uploaded IOS 8.1.1 to iPhone 5S

HELP! I have recently uploaded IOS 8.1.2. to my iPhone 5c and since then have had trouble receiving iMessages to my iPhone. Bizarrely, my messages are being received on my partner's iPhone 5c. His phone has not been uploaded with IOS8. Does anyone know of a solution for me please?
Also do you think my partner's phone is synced to my phone in someway. if so does anyone know how to unsync?

If you are sharing an Apple ID, that could explain it. If you go to Settings>Messages, does it show that iMessage is activated on your device? If so, then go to Send & Receive and see what is checked off on your device. Then check your partner's device and if your phone number or Apple ID are checked there, then remove them.

If you didn't already do so, try uninstalling iTunes and all of it's components (not just iTunes and AMDS), then reinstall iTunes, as discussed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925. Follow the article and uninstall them in the order indicated.

You can only purchase a factory unlocked iPhone directly from Apple.

You did not say if you installed a carrier update. Are you using an unlocked phone? Does your carrier require you to manually set your APN settings? If you do not know what it is then you don't. Have you checked with your carrier? An MMS with iMessage is handled differently than an MMS with the carrier. Since your iMessage is working, contact your carrier and have them check the provisioning on your account. They may need to do a reset on their end, since SMS/MMS is a carrier function.

It sounds like you're not able to access the Internet on your iPad. I found a couple of resources that will help.

Does anyone have lag on iOS 8.1 on the iPhone 6 ?

Every time I get a message and hit "reply" the drop down sections comes down very chopping. The graphics are very bad. I had this issue on iOS 8 and i cleane installed iOS 8.1 but still have it. It seems like it would be software related since other apps and the notification screen seem to drop down just fine. The transitions for the quick reply just look terrible.

My brand new iPhone 6 Plus, fresh from the box, was immediate bricked by the 8.1 update. The progress bar was there, but then it went to endlessly rebooting with the Apple logo on black. Occasionally a white screen appears with an in the corner, but not tappable. It goes back to the Apple logo from there. Each reboot chirps but doesn't vibrate. Many minutes between reboots, and I let it go for well over an hour before giving up.
Force-shutdown (hold both buttons) didn't help.
Connecting to iTunes to Restore from scratch didn't help: iTunes could see the phone, but it said it couldn't wipe and restore until I went to Settings on my iPhone and disabled Find My iPhone! Which is impossible since the phone is bricked...
The phone seemed fine... for the 60 seconds I played with it before accepting the 8.1 update...
Now I'm trying all different timings and repetitions of button combinations and hot plug/unplug timings, hoping to force Recovery Mode. No luck so far. I may need a Genius appointment, and get my brand new never-used iPhone swapped for a refurb... if one is even available. Meanwhile, I sure hope nobody needs to call me on the phone...
Good thing I at least have an iTunes backup (I'm simply restoring from my old iPhone 5's backup, since this is Day One with the new iPhone).
iOS 8 definitely needed a few more months of testing before releasing it. I know they didn't want to delay the hardware just because of non-functioning software, but it was a bad call. I'd have rather had my new iPhone delayed until Thanksgiving but have it actually turn on...

I have just installed the new software update on my iphone 4s soon after it my phone kept turning itself off then it wouldnt come on at all so i connected it to my mac it said my iphone was in recovery mode so needed to install new software.... i waited for 10 mins roughley then at the very end it said cannot install update then it came up with - unknown error code 1600.
Does anyone know if i can fix this from home or do i need to take it into the shop?

Switch Photos (Photo Stream) off then back on.

If you have lion and iPhoto '11 (latest version is 9.2.1) you can set up and turn on iCloud there and if you have IOS 5 on your mobile then your mobile devices will sync with your Mac

OK, a couple questions for you. You say you have "the latest" iOS update installed on your iPhone, but you don't mention what version that is. Would you please tell us what the version number is for your iPOS installation? Also, you have the "banner" on your Settings App, but is the banner for in iOS update, or is it for something else? Do you have a new provile, or an expiring profile, or possibly Notifications that may be triggering that?

IOS 4.1 on an iPhone 3Gs

I have upgraded to iOS 4.1 on my iPhone 3GS and now my alarm clock does not match the time on the phone! It goes off 1 hour before the intended time! I have it on auto time and have resubmitted my alarms, also know of five people who this is happening too

I noticed this as well when navigating through the photo gallery on my iPhone.
If you (and he) are asking about iPhone operation then you are in the wrong place - this is the iPhoto for Mac forum - there are forums for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch as well as iPhoto for IOS -
I do not see any cropping in iPhoto on the Mac for either camera or iPhone photos (I use PhotoStream with auto import to get my iPhone photos to iPhoto on my Mac) - and given the way iPhoto works it is really not possible to have auto-cropping - the only thing that I see even close to that is that when you select edit ==> drop the default crop is slightly smaller than the photo - but unless you accept that nothing is changed and the photo is exactly as imported

Here is a post I assembled for another with a similar problem:
Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta. Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion). While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
Workarounds:
1. If your Mac will support it, restore OS X Snow Leopard;
2. If your Mac will support it, partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it and use the "dual-boot" method to choose between your PPC software or Lion/Mt. Lion;
3. Upgrade to an Intel compatible versions of your software, or find alternatives that will open your data files;
3. Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels:
