I have reset may iPad and still can't download pages keynotes and numbers for free
Need assistance loading my iPad with the free version of pages keynotes and numbers. I was told if I reset my iPad I would be able to install them for free during the setup process

Whenever I try to update any apps or download a new one I get the following error message "unable to connect to iTunes". I have reset my iPad and router and also done the same with my iPod but get the same issue.....need some support please?
There are a number of threads from other people reporting the same iTunes connection issue, it looks like there might be a problem at Apple's end - but you could try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works, but it probably won't until Apple's fixed it

GarageBand is free on the App Store for all iOS 7 compatible devices; additional GarageBand instruments and sounds are available with an in-app purchase. iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are free on the App Store for qualifying iOS 7 compatible devices activated on or after September 1, 2013. I bought my Macbook Pro and iPad mini at the Palisades Mall, New York location and was told that I can get those same apps for free on my Mac. I have been using my iPad mini for assignments and have never been able to download Pages, Keynote or Numbers on my Macbook Pro, despite having the same Apple ID and having all of these apps on my iPad Mini.
I don't know the exact day I got my Macbook Pro, but I have the serial number and I know the month and year I purchased it.
Yes, I got the student discount on both items, but the apps are only on my iPad mini.iOS and OS X versions of these apps are entirely different apps. Getting one free doesn't entitle you to the other.
Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are free on the Mac App Store for qualifying Mac computers purchased on or after October 1, 2013. OS X Yosemite required. Downloading apps requires an Apple ID. -
Why can't I get Keynotes Pages and Numbers for free after OS Mavericks 10.9.1 Upgrade?
I bought my Macbook Air a few days ago with the OS X Mavericks 10.9.1 update software already installed on my laptop. I'm suppose to get Keynotes, Pages, and Numbers for free under purchases in my app store but unfortunately I haven't seen any of those programs come as a purchase in my store. I've downloaded the OS Mavericks 10.9.1 software three times already and restarted my computer to see if they come in the mac store but nothing happened. I've also applied for the Up to Date program and they said they would contact me in 24 hours but it has been three days and I still haven't got a reply from them.

New iPad mini retina but why can't I download pages and numbers for free?
I have just bought an iPad mini retina and used my current itunes account to register on the iPad. I can see that the keynote that I bought before is free but not numbers and pages. Are they not suppose to be free when buying a new device?
Hi, I did use my current apple ID to activate the device but I can't see it as one of my devices that are registerd to my ID. I have an iPhone and an iPad 2 that shows when I look on the devices connected to my account. Should I reset anything to do new registration? I have tried to log out of itunes account and login again but it still doesn't work.

Well, typically one of the fixes that I would suggest is to try to delete the waiting icons. WIFi in a public places like McDonalds, Starbucks, B&N, etc. is not the greatest and I would avoid those places for downloading and updating apps. But I do realize that not everybody has access to Wifi in their homes.
These are all things that have worked at one time or another for other users. Hopefull one of them will work for you. Just ignore whatever does not apply or anything that you have already tried.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad. -
I watched a movie on my Apple TV and then wanted to download another one. It asked for my password this time and I used up my 3 attempts. Now it is telling me to go to iTunes and retrieve my password. What's going on?

You can only use the original Apple ID that was used to activate the iPad to download the free apps.

I have uninstalled iTunes and everything related but still cannot download iTunes. When I click in "download iTunes" nothing happens at all. I have plenty of disk space and don't know what else it could be. My laptop is only 2 years old and is fully updated

Hi, I have an older iMac on 10.6.8. I don't think it came with all the iWork apps. I got GarageBand and iMovie with the system. I'm wondering if I can still get Pages and Keynote for this iMac as free downloads, or are they all just apps for purchase now?
You will need to purchase the retail box DVD from a third party such as Amazon.com or eBay.com.
