I have rolled back to firefox v3.6.19 as v5 does not support 'no script', 'download status bar', or 'forecastfox', or at least i was unable to get them to work. v5 is no good imo.

For the second time in as many months I have had to roll back to version 3.6.19 as the new firefox (versions 4 or 5) was unable to use 'no script', 'forecastfox' or 'download status bar'. I hope mozilla will continue to support v3.6.19 until my issues have been resolved. Also the after one or two clicks on any of the aforementioned extensions on the add-on bar/page caused v5 to hang.

According to this page, you can use it for CC:

  • I want to close the bokkmarks side bar, I have tried to open firefox in safe mode but this does not help.

This morning I opened firefox as usual and found that a sidebar for bookmarks on the left side of this page. I did not request this to open and I want it removed from my computer. I do not like the way it uses up the space on the page. I have tried to open firefox in safe mode but his did not clear it. If I can not remove this sidebar I will want to close firefox.

There should be a little 'x' Close button in the top right corner of the sidebar.
Alternatively, Ctrl + B will close it too.

  • I cannot copy and paste details from my bank statement into a word document, without the formatting changing.I have a message in my Error console which reads: server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555

Since transferring data from my desktop to my laptop, i am now having problems copying and pasting details from my bank website in to a word document, the formatting is all over the place. This didnt happen before, when i pasted the details in to the word document the formatting was exactly the same as on the webpage. If I use internet explorer, I dont have this problem, so, I can only assume it has something to do with Firefox. I have checked the "Error console" and I am receiving this message: server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555.

  • I downloaded Firefox 4 which my iBook G4 does not support. How can I revert to the earlier version of Firefox?

A box showed up that said "this architecture does not support Firefox 4." Firefox was no longer available on my laptop. Leopard is my OS. (Highest it will go)

Do you recall whether your iBook G4 could run Firefox 3.6? If so, you can download it here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
If you were using 3.5 or earlier, finding it is a bit trickier.
You probably want to backup your profile folder before uninstalling Firefox 4. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing%20up%20your%20information Backing up your information | How to | Firefox Help].

I have a 10.2.8 os on a G4 desktop. A week ago I clicked on the AOL icon in the bottom bar. I have not used AOL for six years. Two aol boxes came up. I can not get the boxes to go away for long. They may go away for 15 minutes and they come back  while I am working. How can I get these  aol boxes to go away?
I will be upgading to Tiger; 10.4.

Right click on the AOL icon and select move to trash.

  • I would like to go back to my old version. Version 4 does not support my Afrikaans spell checker etc.

Most of my work is done in Afrikaans en therefore my spell checker is vital to me. Your latest version is not compatible to the available spell checker and so I would like to revert back to the older version.
    Kind Regards
    Stephanie

A spell checker that works in Firefox 3.6 should also work in Firefox 4.0 even if not listed as compatible.
You can force Firefox to install the spell checker or re-enable it if it has been disabled by installing the Add-on Compatibility Reporter extension - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter

  • I have a message on my iMac 24 says Boot Camp does not support 64-bit on this computer. how do i fix is?

I have a late 2009 iMac 24 that i downloaded Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on. When i tried to download Windows 7 Support, i got a message that says Boot Camp does support 64-bit on this computer. I do have Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit CD. What would be the easy way to fix this. Thanks

There is no OS X 5.0.5. If you can boot to OS X on your computer select About This Mac from the Apple menu. It will display the version you have installed.
I think the message meant you can only install 64-bit Windows 7.

  • I need to update to Firefox 4 b/c Exact Target does not support any updates beyond 4. Where can I find that downlaod for a Mac?

Exact Target (which my company uses) has trouble with Firefox. I updated to 3.6.something today, because ET was crapping out, but it still won't work. I'm trying to upgrade just to Firefox 4, to see if that will get the email platform working again, but everywhere on the Firefox Update pages I'm being pointed directly to 6.

Download iTunes using the tab at the top of this page. Then run the update with iTunes closed.

  • I just upgraded to Firefox 5. How can I get a copy of Firefox 4. The new version does not work with Skype's auto dialer.

How can I get a copy of the previous version of Firefox? The latest version (5) does not support Skype's auto dialer. I use this tool to be more productive.

Due to security vulnerabilities, rolling back to Firefox 4.0.1 is not recommended.
If Firefox disabled some add-ons (especially extensions), it likely is because they include a list of compatible Firefox versions and haven't yet been updated for Firefox 5. If they worked on Firefox 4, there is a good chance they will work on Firefox 5.
You can force Firefox to ''ignore'' add-on version restrictions by (what else) installing an add-on. Then you can test whether the add-ons important to you actually work in Firefox 5.
    [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ Add-on Compatibility Reporter :: Add-ons for Firefox]
After you install this add-on and restart Firefox, there will still be a message that "--- is incompatible with Firefox 5.0" but the add-on will be enabled and a Disable button will appear for that entry.
Please report back on your results.

  • Firefox 6.0.1 causes extreme problems with ATI Catalyst 10.x drivers on a Win7 x64 system. When I roll back to Firefox 6.0, no problems. Can this be resolved?

Firefox 6.0.1 causes extreme problems with ATI Catalyst 10.x drivers on a Win7 x64 system. Took me quite awhile to identify, but when I roll back to Firefox 6.0, no problems. Once Firefox recognizes this and reinstalls the 6.0.1 update then severe display driver problems occur causing very erratic display behavior and ultimately rendering the system inoperative. The problem appears to occur within a minute or two after Firefox has been opened and it occurs even if Firefox has been subsequently closed prior to the actual event taking place. I have attempted this 6 times just to ensure that the problem was associated with the 6.0.1 update.

  • Mycomputer does not support firefox 16 how do I go back to 15

My computer is older and does not support firefox 16. i downloaded it because one of the websites i visit asked me to and now I cannot use firefox at all. Can I go back to 15

    Hello jgartin88
Firefox 4 versions and later '''''do not run on a PowerPC Mac(like yours)''''' and require at least OS X 10.5 and '''''an Intel Mac'''''.
15.0 need Intel also, [http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/15.0/system-requirements/ Firefox 15.0 System Requirements]
The latest supported version for your mac is '''''3.6.28''''' you can download from here(but remember '''''works but it is unsupported'''''):
    http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
    [http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/3.6/system-requirements/ Firefox 3.6 System Requirements]
    1. Download a new copy of the Firefox program(3.6.28) from the above link
    2. '''''Trash''''' the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-) install.
    3. Install the new version that you have downloaded(3.6.28).

    Hi everyone,
Many of you have had problems with Spotify for Mac OS X 10.5. We no longer support Spotify on this operating system which we announced back in November here as a "heads up".
However, we've noticed that many folks have been updating regardless which should not be the case. Our intention was to let anyone using Mac OS X10.5 continue using a "legacy" version of Spotify. In any case, the folks who were using 10.5 were updated, and in many cases these customers have experienced crashes with the newest version of the application (Spotify version 0.8.8. at the time of writing).
To make a long story short, we messed up in updating folks who should not have been updated and we're sorry. We plan on fixing the problem of Spotify updating to the latest version for Mac OSX 10.5 users and we're working on it as I write this. If you're a person who has already upgraded and the application is crashing, we're looking into a solution and we hope to have an update shortly.
Warm regards from your humble community manager,
    Rorey

  • Status bar missing in Firefox 6.0, also Real player does not function with updated version, had to switch back to 3.6

I've installed Firefox 6.0 about 3 times and each time I noticed that the status bar at the bottom of the page was missing. I relied upon the Norton Security "lock icon" which in version 3.6 would appear in the lower right hand corner of the status bar before signing in to websites or making transactions and found it very helpful. It was present in version 3.6 but not in 6.0. When I went back to 3.6 I suddenly had problems with the page freezing up so returned to 6.0 which corrected the problem but was not comfortable without the icon. I contacted Norton and via remote access the tech determined that the problem exists with Firefox's 6.0 version so he reinstalled 3.6 for me. Also I have a paid subscription to Real player Plus and it does not function with 6.0. I'm concerned because it seems you will soon phase out 3.6 and I will be without these functions which are important to me.

I have a solution! Follow this link and download the older version. When I installed it, everything came back as it was before! Yay! Good luck to you all. And bad move, Mozilla, in not making it clearer what the system requirements were for the update!!!!

  • I use Webcourses for school and it does not support Firefox 4 or higher, how can I go back to Firefox 3.6 (windows 7) ?

I do online classes and the web portal for the school (UCF) does not support any firefox version higher than Firefox 3.6.
I get thrown out of the portal at various times and it is really making things difficult.
How do I go back to firefox 3.6 from firefox 4.01 in windows 7?

Install Firefox Portable 3.6.20 to your hard drive for that website. <br />
    http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/localization#legacy36
It won't affect your current Firefox installation, which you should update to Firefox 6.0 - you are missing a bunch of important security fixes by being two versions behind the latest. 3.6.20 doe have all those fixes.
