I have Safari and Firefox browsers on my MacBook. When using Safari to access webmail, I will get a MacKeeper Advert on the site, but not when using Firefox. This is consistent. Can Safari software "block" the MacKeeper Ad, please?

Have tried to identify the site referral, but the opening page and back page of the webmail site have multiple advertisers. My guess is it would require something tailored to the word or image-word MacKeeper, MACKEEPER and Mac Keeper or MAC KEEPER.

It's a Safari extension - so easily switched off or uninstalled. If it doesn't block those ads right off, you can customose it to block most annoyances.

You can sync your iPod with multiple computers, but what can be synced is very limited. See this article for more details.

Most common culprits include the cable. Try swapping it out for a different one.. or not having the most recent version of itunes. I once even solved this problem by shutting down the computer for 2 minutes. (the longer the better), with the ipad plugged in. starting it up... then itunes recognizes it, launches, and syncs.
Apple has a troubleshooting assistant on this topic:

It will advise you to reboot. I recommend shutting down instead.

P.S The ipad should charge when asleep and plugged into your Mac. The charging behavior is normal. There isn't enough power out the USB ports to charge the ipad while it is on on some older Macs and nearly all PCs.

Safari reports the site is not responding, yet Firefox loads the same site.

If the loading of most web pages is slow in Safari, more often than not, Safari returns that the site is not responding. Clearing the cache and restarting the app do not change this. Every time I've found this issue, Firefox has ALWAYS loaded the site with virtually no hiccup. These are not special sites, just if Safari can't load a site within it's time limit, it gives up on it completely. The best way I've found to induce this is to have a folder in your bookmark bar with a good number of URLs (one of mine can have upwards of 50) and then tell it to "Load all in Tabs." Most of the tabs will come back with the above mentioned failure, and then you've lost that site until you restart or a few hours go by (perhaps).
Now I've mostly found this problem by just loading ONE site, not 50. Even Apple's own homepage has done this to me on regular occasion.
Please give me your ideas on what I'm not paying attention to. I like Safari's WebClip function, and I've made up for most of the functions I'm used to in Firefox's Add-Ons, but this is the nail in the coffin if it's a regular occurrence.

I'm getting a similar error over here. Sporadically some sites won't load specifically in Safari; they open just fine in Opera, Firefox and Camino though. This is really annoying.

You can see all permissions for the current page in Tools > Page Info > Permissions
If it is from a different domain then use this:
*A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (Site Identification icon) on the left side of the location bar.
*A click on the "More Information" button will open the Security tab of the "Page Info" window (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
*Open the Media tab of the "Page Info" window.
*Select the first image and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow key.
*If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

- You do have the volume set all the way up?
- Have you tried another pair of headphones/do the headphone work in other devices?
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the headphone plug a dozen times or so.

Weird: Backup file works fine from the network but not when moved into sandbox environment

We have a valid full backup of a database. We know it is valid, we have restored it twice from the network with no problems, but we do not have access to the network location from our sandbox environment.
The .bak file is sizable at about 9GB. The .bak file resides on our internal network, in a SAN drive. No problems there. When we copy the file from there into a sandbox environment to attempt the restore in the sandbox environment it gets corrupted. We've
tried three different times and all three different times it gets corrupted. First time we copied the file over to the sandbox the restore went up to 50% and failed. The second time we copied the file again and attempted the restore again it failed at 70%.
The third time it failed at 60%. The error message we get during the restore is "...Read on ... failed: 13(The data is invalid) Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Restore database is terminating abnormally."
Now some background here. To move the file our network team is doing this: they have this .vmdk file that they mount out in our production environment (which has access to the network location where the .bak file is), copy the file into the drive, then move
the .vmdk file into the sandbox environment(which does not have access to the network location), mount the drive in the sandbox environment, and then I have access to the .bak file from within the sandbox environment.
Something in the process of using the .vmdk file to move the .bak file from production into the sandbox is causing the file to get corrupted.
Any thoughts? Has anyone seen this before? Any idea? TIA,

Windows authentication on Intranet site on IIS8.5 works when using the IP of the site, but not the URL.

I have an intranet website on server 2012R2 with IIS8.5.
When I access the site by IP address, the site prompts for windows authentication and it only permits access to the areas the logged in user is allowed.
When I access the site by URL, Firefox prompts for authentication and gives the correct access, but when I access the URL from IE or Chrome, the site never prompts for credentials and the entire site is wide open to anyone.
I have anonymous authentication disabled, Windows authentication enabled, and basic authentication enabled, set to default to our domain, so the user doesn't have to type domain\username.
I left the site bindings open, because when I bind to an IP or host name, the intranet site stops working.
Can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong???

Are you accessing the site from a domain-joined workstation? It's possible that it looks wide open because IE and Chrome are using your existing Windows credentials without any prompting, whereas Firefox is not automatically using these creds so is prompting.

MySQL : works in the IDE, but not when i launch the webapp

when i setup a mysql connection, everything seems to be ok in the IDE, i can see my datasource, i can open my tables, see the content, etc. But when i click on the green arrow to deploying and testing my webapp, the server returns me a very long error page : javax.faces.FacesException: java.sql.SQLException: Error in allocating a connection. Cause: Connection could not be allocated because: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
What should i do ?

Then as you've tried resetting the phone, the next step is to restore it from the latest backup. If that doesn't work, restore it as new, and if that doesn't work take it to Apple.

I'm setting up my time capsule in the uk but i bought it in the us and on the list of countries the uk is not included. Does this matter or can i do something to add it to the list?

Try the following on your Mac
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click Manual Setup
Click the Time Capsule tab located just below the row of icons
Hold down the option key on your Mac while you click on the Time Zone settings box to see if you can find the Time Zone that you wish

I just bought a smoking hot Toshiba Qosmio and I installed CS2. I was prompted to activate but got the error message above. Instructions from Adobe said to uninstall and then install a version without the activation hang up. But when I go to Adobe to get it there is no CS2. Lowest they have is CS3. bro I just had this issue its as simple as swiping to the right of each album artwork that does not display in the list view (On your Iphone.) Once you swipe to the right on every album that does not display in the list view you will see the delete option come up. Hit delete! Dont be scared. Do this with every album art that does not show up and then resync your Iphone. Go to the list view again and all of your missing album artwork will be displayed in both the list overview and close up landscape mode.

I would recommend you to use 0FI_AP_4 rather using both, particularly for many reasons -
1. DS: 0FI_AP_4 replaces DataSource 0FI_AP_3 and still uses the same extraction structure. For more details refer to the OSS note 410797.
2. You can run the 0FI_AP_4 independent of any other FI datasources like 0FI_AR_4 and 0FI_GL_4 or even 0FI_GL_14. For more details refer to the OSS note: 551044.
3. Map the 0FI_AP_4 to DSO: 0FIAP_O03 (or create a Z one as per your requirement).
4. Load the same to a InfoCube (0FIAP_C03).
