I have several libraries in Aperture, (9 libraries, 45,000 pictures .. !!) there a way to unite them all in a single library to retain all data?

If you have a drive that is large enough, you can open one library and import the other aperture libraries on after the other into your main library.
Use the command "File > Import > Library".
When prompted, if you want to "Add" or to "merge", select "Merge". This way, Aperture will try to avoid to import duplicates.
Merging can take a long time and needs plenty of free storage, sometimes more than the combined sizes of the libraries to be merged. The additional storage will be released,when the merge is done.

I realise you can you can delete them on your ipod slowly as you have to click on each one, and you can restore your ipod, but surely there is a way to get around this?

authorize iTunes on both machines for both iTunes accounts. exchange songs using e.g. home sharing.

I have exactly the same problem on my ipad. It is happening on only some contacts but, as with you, when I delete one of the contacts on the ipad, the second ipad contact and the contact on the imac are also deleted. You can drag and drop photos from one Event to another. Or you can flag them and use the Events: Add Flagged photos to Select Event.

Delete the problem books from your iTunes library, close and then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Books and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your books there.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.
If the problem persists contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support. In rare cases you may need to refer to the publisher.
