I have songs in my library, but can't sync them to my nano

Hey all!
I really hope that somebody can help me. To be honest I am not sure what I did, but I now do not have any songs on my nano. I do however have A LOT of songs in my library, but it won't let me sync them to my ipod.
"This is the message that I keep getting:
Songs on the Ipod 'my Ipod' cannot be synced because all of the playlists selected for syncing no longer exist."
This isnt true tho because I do have playlists with songs in them and I can see ALL of my songs in my library.

You get this problem when the option 'Sync Music - Selected playlists' is being used to sync your iPod and then the playlist it has been updating from is deleted. Most people use this setting when the iPod is smaller than the iTunes library. If your library is larger than the capacity of your iPod, iTunes by default makes a new playlist called something along the lines of "Owner's iPod". If you for any reason delete it, you will not be able to sync your iPod.
Open iTunes and create a playlist to update your iPod from, call it -iPod to make it the first playlist in Sources. You can make this a normal playlist and drag whatever you want to it or you can make it a random Smart playlist. If you are making a smart playlist limit it to just less than the size of your iPod (for example 3700MB for a 4G iPod Nano). Now connect your iPod and when it appears in the Source list click on the iPod icon to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. Go to the Music tab and choose Sync Music and the Selected playlists radio button. Choose the playlist you just made from the selection and click Apply. You can also sync from any existing playlists by choosing the same setting, you just need to make sure that the size of the playlists don't exceed the capacity of your iPod:

How to create a Smart Playlist with iTunes
To make a random playlist go to File>New Smart Playlist.
Uncheck "Match the following rule"
Check "Limit to" put "3700" in the number box, choose "MB" from the first list box, choose "Random" from the next list box. Check "Live Updating"
When you want to change the selection in the playlist just delete everything in it and it will add a new selection

You may need to enable 'manual mode' in the iPhone, then drag these songs to the iPhone. At that point you should be able to remove the songs as desired.

I unchecked all the songs in my library, how can I get them checked back?

I was trying to uncheck some songs in my library so that they would not transfer to my ipod. I guess i held down shift or control to uncheck the group when I had a few songs selected. Now all my songs in my library are unchecked. I want to update my ipod but I am afraid that when I plug it back up that it will erase all the songs off my ipod since they all are unchecked in my library. I have quite a bit of music in my library and do not want to recheck the songs that I want to transfer again. Is there any way to rebuild the original checked songs?

No, there is not.
You might find it advisable to make a smart playlist of "Checked Songs" and to occassionally back this playlist up into a normal playlist. This way, if you accidently check or uncheck everything, all you have to do is to pick your checked backup playlist and check all the songs in it.
You can make a Smart Playlist for checked songs by using a rule of 'Comment is not dkjbdsk' (or some other nonsense) and turning on the "Match Checked Songs Only" flag. Then you can back that up into a non-smart playlist by selecting all the songs in the smart playlist and using the File->New Playlist from Selection menu option.

Itunes match says songs are all uploaded but can't access them on iPhone

I signed up for itunes match last weekend, and went through the long process of matching and uploading songs. It finally finished today, specifically saying that my library is available in the cloud. But I can't access any of my library on my iPhone, even with itunes match turned on. Since itunes match is fairly new I haven't come across anything that would help. If someone out there could help I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

OK, anything that says "ineligible" or "error" is NOT in the cloud. Itunes match may have told you that the matching process was complete, but all it was telling you was that the SESSION was complete. Only items with a "matched" or "uploaded" icon next to them are in the cloud. So this is your real problem. Your iPhone is telling you the truth.
It's clear you have some reading to do, followed by some work to on your iTunes library, but all is not lost. you can make copies of most ineligible songs within iTunes, re-run Match and get the eligible copies into the cloud. I could walk you through it, but Apple's been good enough to provide support documents, which I'll link you to at the bottom of this message.
The most important thing you need to do first, is to figure out what kind of files you have that are ineligible. Keep in mind that iTunes Match only accepts music, not audiobooks, not music videos (except those purchased through the iTunes store), so some things in your iTunes library aren't going to work no matter what. If you have any Digital Rights Management (DRM) protected tracks, those will work, provided the computer you are using for iTunes Match is authorized to play them. Usually the tracks that people find are ineligible are low bitrate MP3s - songs they didn't purchase through iTunes. Some other music file types also are ineligible.
In both cases, the solution is to highlight those songs, go to the Advanced menu in iTUnes and select "Make AAC version." What I do is let it make the copies, then without clicking anywhere in iTunes I hit the delete key. This will delete the originals, but leave the new copies. You can opt to just have them removed from your library, so they simply will no longer show up in iTunes (preferable until you are sure the copies are ok))

HELP, please! My photos have disappeared from iPhoto library & I can only see them on the screensaver.

Firstly, I should say we haven't updated/installed/deleted anything. I just opened iPhoto yesterday and first it told me it couldn't open up without specifying a library, but then it seemed our library has just disappeared. I then created a new library as, I have to admit, me & my DH are complete tecno dummies, but that didn't help much. The only thing which we have done in the past couple of days is set up the screensaver to play our photos. So now we can only see the photos on that - I'm presuming that means they haven't been completely lost (?) but am in a panic as we've got no back-up (three years worth of photos!).
When I go on 'system preferences' (hope that's the correct translation, our computer's using Italian) and the screensaver, I can see 'picture folder' where all the photos are but I can't find that anywhere else on the computer.
Also, I read other threads about similar probs & tried launching iPhoto pressing down 'option & control' but that didn't help me out either.
We also spent half an hour on the phone to the Apple helpline here in Italy (yes, that's a charged call) to try and understand what's gone wrong and the advisor just kept telling us she didn't know how to help us out 'cause our Mac is an old model
Apologies in advance for my complete ignorance about how to solve this problem but I'd be really grateful if someone out there could shed some light on what's happened.

when you say to go to my Pictures Folder, do you mean to go on Finder, then Pictures, then look at the iPhoto library?
Yes. Is there more than one there?
The material in your screensaver are cached images. They cannot be recovered and soon they will go way.
If you have deleted your Library (and it sounds like you have done this, accidentally) the you have deleted your Photos and you need to restore from your back up.

I have the IOS 7 and iphone is a 4. I can see songs on my iphone but cannot see them on itunes. I want to be able to see them so that I can move them to a playlist.

If i have to restore my phone, I would loose data. At the momen, that's a last resort to me as everything works fine apart from this music problem.
Is there a way to fix the database? I can see the music is on my phone with iTunes so it is there in one form or another ...but I can't play it

All songs in iTunes uploaded but can't play them from Macbook

Hi,
I've matched and uploaded all of my iTunes library to iCloud through iTunes Match. The problem that I have is that if I try to play a track from my Macbook I just get an error message saying:
'The Song ____ could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?'
Before I got iTunes Match I stored my library on an external HDD. Could this be the problem? And if so does anyone know how I can play my iTunes library from my Macbook without having to connect the external HDD?

Yes, the HDD is the problem.
You need to actually delete the songs from your library to stop iTunes from looking for the files on the HDD.
Select all your music in iTunes and delete it, making sure that you don't check the box saying to delete it from the cloud as well. Also make sure you choose to keep the original files (unless you have them backed up elsewhere).
Once you have done that the songs should stream from the cloud.

What is your iPhoto version? And what happened to delete your photos?
Do you mean, you see the images in your iPhoto library, when you are browsing them, but you cannot edit them?
Then probably the original master image files are no longer there, but the previews are. If you are using iPhoto '11 you can see the Previews inside the iPhoto Library in the folder "Previews", when you ctrl-click the iPhoto Library and select "Show Package Contents".

I have downloaded two add-ons but can't find them

I have recently installed Firefox Mozilla and two add-ons that I needed.
They appear in the add ons menu and are activated.
But I cannot see them anywhere in Firefox
All menus are activated including the add-on bar which appears at the bottom of my screen but is empty
Where might the icons be for my add ons please?

In the Mozilla menu, I click on 'add ons' but it the pop up Mozilla page, they seem to be under extensions.
One of them was 'download you tube videos as mp4' and that is solved (it only appears when you download'
The other one is "encrypted communication 1.3' by Diego Casorran and I have never been able to locate it to use. On the site, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/encrypted-communication/
people say you just compose a message and then toggle with the icon but I don't see how I can compose a message in Mozilla

I have two accounts for apple, how can I sync them?

When I was younger I signed up for Itunes where I managed alot of my CD's/ downloads. This was under a specific apple ID (email address)
A few months back, my husband bought me an IPHONE 5 and set it up under a different apple ID (email address).
Now when I download on my IPHONE 5, they don't all show up on the same account.
Please instruct me how to sync these two accounts.

There is no way to merge Apple IDs.
Content from multiple Apple IDs can be on a computer and iDevices. Simply authorize the computer for the additional Apple ID and put the content on the computer. Then the content can be synced to the iDevice.
The other option is to stop using one of the Apple IDs.

Have my songs in my ipod, but can't play them from iTunes

recently imorted songs from CDs are in my ipod and, of course, listed in the library of iTunes, but when I try to play them usin iTunes, I am required "locate it because the original file cannot be found", although I can play those songs from my iPod without any problem. It wasn't like that before, so I guess I have changed something in iTunes setting or something like that.
Any ideas?

You may have accidentally moved your iTunes Music Folder. Do a search on your computer and when you locate it, put it back in My Documents>My Music>iTunes. If you don't keep your music in the iTunes folder but some other then you need to locate that one and put it back to it's original position.

As with an upgrade a while back, as soon as I upgraded my iTunes version, this problem pops up. I can play the songs that are an issue within iTunes itself, but when I click on the media button within iMovieHD, like I always have with no issues, it says this computer not authorized. When I authorize, gives me the same message each time I try it. Any help, always appreciated and respected....

Downloaded 2 books from library but can't open them invalid Why?

Been using Overdrive Media Console for 2 yrs without a hitch & without having to sign in. Now asked to sign in which I have done an innumerable times with no success. Have changed my password, turned off IPad & on again. Librarian said Adobe support told them that I had too many devises with the same user name. However, I have only this devise I use for using Overdrive. I do not read on any other devise.Can someone help me out & tell me what I have to do to fix this?I would prefer not deleting the app & starting again but that was my next option. Thanks. Carole

welcome to this forum! I gather from your information that you are not ON-LINE when you try to open the message. Most likely you are using a phone-in acount and somewhere in your acccount settings, messages over a certain size (e.g. 30kB) are left on the server. You have to decide that you want to receive them, reconnect to your server and than the whole message is downloaded to your computer! I Bought Songs on Apple TV - But Can't Find them in iTunes on my iMac?

I love the new iTunes radio. We've already bought several songs on it using the Apple TV. I've just noticed that those songs aren't visible in iTunes running on my iMac. How can I correct this?
My Apple TV is on, and in it under Computers I can see my iMac - but I don't see my Apple TV under Devices in iTunes on my iMac.
My iMac is running OS X 10.8.5.

You may wish to enable automatic downloads in your iTunes > preferences > store settings.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
