I have stopped receiving email from a friend using yahoo - how to fix?

For two years I have been emailing with a friend in Europe who uses a yahoo account with no problem. Suddenly I am no longer receiving his emails - neither he nor I have made any changes. I use iCloud. Anybody have a clue how to troubleshoot this or resolve it?

For the past month, I have not been able to receive emails sent to me by a friend. My email address is the same. His address is the same. Nothing has changed. He has a yahoo account. He does not get any indication, or message his email bounced, or failed to deliver. Neither do I. It just doesn't arrive. I am able to send emails to his address. i receive test emails to myself just fine. I did discover today that another email my friend sent went to my mobileme junk folder. Another test email he sent went to junk folder on my mac. Previously, I didn't see his emails in my junk folder at all, but they could have been. How do I make sure his email address isn't blocked or marked as junk? Is it as simple as making an entry into my address/contact book? Obviously, I should have already done this, but I haven't done that. Thanks for your response.

There was a period of maintenance with our servers and this is probably why you were unable to receive messages from a particular contact. I would close, and reopen the app and attemp to exchange messages with this contact. If you are still having issue please email us @ [email protected]

Iphone stopped receiving emails from verizon; error message wrongly says username and PW incorrect

Yesterday (10/21/13) my iphone 3 stopped receiving emails from my verizon account and error message says &quot;the user name or password for verizon in incorrect,&quot; even though I know the user name and password are correct and I am receiving emails from verizon on my ipad and I mac. In addition, after I &quot;reset.&quot; the phone by pressing the &quot;home&quot; and &quot;off&quot; buttons together until the apple logo appeared, I lost all of the emails that were on the iphone's mailboxes. What is wrong and how do I fix it?

Here is the solution given to me by a very helpful Verizon phone agent. Go to your Verizon mail account under settings. Under Incoming Mail server, change host name to pop.verizon.net.
Under Outgoing Mail Server, change host name to smtp.verizon.net.
Make sure Use SSL is on for Incoming and Outgoing Mail Servers.
She said the above is the solution that has worked for most people who are having trouble receiving and or sending Verizon emails from their Iphones since Monday October 21. She said that if this solution did not work, it is then an Apple problem and I would then need to go to Apple's email client support for troubleshooting sending and receiving email messages (for MAC in my case). After writing down all of the passwords and configurations for verizon email currently on my phone, including the new host names above, I ended up deactiving my verizon email account and then reimputing all of the passwords, configurations, ... . It worked! My verizon email was back and running.

Hi have a new pearl 8110. I have it thru AT&T. I have it configured thru BES. I receive work emails thru the BES. I was experimenting with the personal email and set it up to receive emails from my personal earthlink email account. I decided I do not like that set up since I am unable to set the BB up so that work and personal emails go to separate folders (the personal ones will go to a separate folder and the general email folder and the work emails go to the general folder only).
At any rate, I want to delete the earthlink email account from the BB. I deleted it from the servicebook, but I still am getting emails?
Any idea how to remedy this so that the earthlink emails stop showing up?

Go to E-mail Settings icon on your home screen. Login using the user name and password (if passoword used while setting initial setup). Go to Email Accounts under services and hit the delete button under the email ID that you want to delete.

Stopped receiving email from existing account, now can't re-setup account

A year and a half ago when I got my BB Pearl from my employer I set it up to also receive email from my existing personal Comcast account. Just before Christmas, my BB suddenly stopped receiving any emails from that account. I have rebooted the BB multiple times since then, including removing and replacing the battery. That didn't help. Today I finally decided to just delete the Comcast account info from the BB and start over on adding it as an existing account. However when I get to the account password field, the normal keyboard function that swaps letters isn't working, so I can't enter my correct password. For example suppose my password is "spry". What I get is "aoet"--the keyboard won't switch in the alternate letter if I delete and re-type, as it does for every other piece of text I've ever entered on the BB. Help?

Switch typing input methods (from the 8100 model manual, page 11)
1. In the device options, click Language.
2. Perform one of the following actions:
• To use the multi-tap input method, set the Input Language field to <Language> Multitap.
• To use the SureType™ input method, set the Input Language field to <Language>.
3. Press the Menu key.
4. Press Save.

My apple mail stopped receiving emails from my google apps account

I have been using apple mail service for all my email accounts, for some reason My google apps account with my own domain stopped receiving emails, I can send but I cant receive them. Please Help

Here are two steps that have come in handy in related situations
1) login to gmail on your computer or device via a web browser
2) once logged in successfully, go to this URL to unlock:

Try this...
Double-click the Home button
Swipe left or right and find the Yahoo Mail app
Swipe up on the preview of the Yahoo Mail app to force quit it
Hold down on both the Home AND Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple logo on black screen (about 10 seconds).
When you see the Apple logo on the black screen, let go of both buttons.
After it restarts, launch Yahoo Mail and see if it works.

We have email through Comcast. I had set this up to forward to Gmail, which would flow through to the I-pad. I now have the Comcast email and the Gmail accounts set up on the I-pad. Email was coming through fine and now it has stopped. Any ideas? Thanks. Sallyfromduluth

One of my clients had this yesterday (6-Dec-2011) with a series of emails sent through Comcast to end users at @me.com
The errors were identical to the above, with the exception of the MTA. It varied so its not just one server at Comcast giving fits to Apple. Since the error message "Too many recipient errors" is coming from the server at apple, there appears to be an apple problem.

Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup
Note, in 10.5 & up /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/ may or may not exist.

Stopped receiving emails from Google account

I had my Nokia email set up to for a couple of days now and it was all working great until today. I was able to sync and receive email this morning but now it doesen't seem to download any new emails to my inbox. I can still send emails though from my Nokia Mail using the Google account though.
Has anyone else suddenly developed this problem?

I can't send or receive emails from my Ipad. Support didn't fix it

I can't send or receive emails. I tried to turn it off and on. I also tried to open all the servers and nothing worked. Please help. This is the older Ipad and I don't want to purchase anything if I don't have to.

I don't fully understand what the System Reset does but I've found that it cures many ills. It's easy, quick and harmless:
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.
A System Reset does not remove any apps, music, movies, etc. nor does it cause any settings to revert back to default.
Also, you might wish to download the iPad-2 User Guide. Pay special attention to page 162. Note that this Guide also applies to the iPad-1 with IOS 4.3 except for those functions that are not supported by the hardware.

Finally, the User Guide can be downloaded at no charge via iBooks and a less comprehensive version of the Guide is included as a Safari bookmark.

Email- My email keeps downloading old email long ago deleted by my computer, but I phone now has 1,300 plus email, and no way to delete in bulk. how can i dbulk delete and stop old emails from downloading. i use gmail.

Sounds like you have your computer checking a POP account and your computer thus gets copies from the server and you don't have your comptuer set to delete from server once downloaded/deleted thus they are still on the server. Thus when your phone checks the server they are there. POP accounts were never intended for this mobile age.
