XP has been running for years and has a lot of documents and history in the Thunderbird folders. Linux Mint was installed on a different physical drive. Can I point the Linux version Thunderbird to the XP data directory and use both XP and Linux versions of Thunderbird with one set of data files?

As Ned has indicated there is no public links for an Acrobat Standard download. If you purchased from a reseller or got it as part of your computer bundle then you will want to work with the reseller/computer manufacturer.

I've got older systems, ones that can't handle CS6, and a budget too low to purchase a new system and your software even with a student discount. Is there any way to use an update version? You can only buy CS6 and CC. Otherwise you will have to find someone willing to part with his license and run a license transfer. Though, quite frankly this doesn't really make sense. You can buy cheap laptops withe a suitable 64bit version of Windows 7/ 8 for 300 Euros. The money saved could easily be invested in a CC student plan rather than possibly trying to find an overpriced older version with the risk of getting scammed... Otherwise you can use the trials of course, but that's about it.

I have an iMac that has no connectivity with the mouse. I have replaced the batteries in the mouse. As a result, we can not use the computer as the mouse won't move

I would highly recommend you run a test by trying another mouse with the iMac and see if that fixes it. That would tell you the problem is Not with the iMac itself.

You should be able to see two different tabs when setting up the email if you go to Other > Add Mail Account. Once you enter in the email address and password, you should be at the next screen to provide more details about the email as far as incoming and outgoing servers and at the top there will be a blue section to add it in as a POP or IMAP email account. CHeck out iTunes Match which has an annual fee of £21 or thereabouts. You can store a maximum of 25,000 songs there and they all become available on your other kit, iPhone, iPad and iPod. I know it works as I have over 23000 songs uploaded of which only a few we're bought through iTunes.
it works by comparing your music to the whole iTunes music dadata base so you access the same tunes that you could get from iTunes. If you have obscure stuff, it uploads your own music to the cloud as a copy.
I Find it incredible that on my iPhone with its 16gb memory I can view almost 200 gb of music (ie my 23000 songs) and play any of them. Anything I add to iTunes becomes available via the cloud fairly quickly from a few minutes or a little longer if adding a lot.
The first time you use it it will take quite a while to match your music if you have a lot, but after that it is all automatic. Read the stuff on the apple site. Your PC needs to be at least running Vista. I recommend it and at less than 50p a week it's good value.

Can I use the volume sliders after adding automation to tracks?

After adding a whole bunch of automation to pretty much every track on my first real project on GarageBand, I started trying to mix, and it seems the volume sliders are all locked up on the tracks with automation. I really don't want to have to add a million more automation points just to mix the song properly, so if anyone has a solution, that would be greatly appreciated!

I have recently updated to iPhoto 9.2.1, more by accident I guess. In the older version off iPhoto when I imported photos and gave the event his own name, this name was also used in the "masterfile"

In the older version of iPhoto when I imported photos and gave the event his own name (for exampample "110723 birthday son 2011"), this name was also used in the "masterfile", so I could find the file by his name ("110723 birthday son 2011") in the "masterfile" on my HD and copy and paste it from there to other computers.
In the new version the file gets stored under a seemingly random number, which does not give me any information about the content.
Is there a way to fix this? Would it be different in apperture?

I have Iphoto '09, version 8.1.2 (424). I am having an identical problem. All my pictures are imported into Iphoto when I downloaded them from my camera. Until recently, I thought that the pictures were actually saved in the library. Since I need to crop my pictures for the web, and Iphoto doesn't do that, I purchased Photoshop Elements to do that. To my surprise, when I try to get a picture from Iphoto to Photoshop, it can't be done. That was when I realized, after wasting a lot of time, that the photos are not in the Iphoto library.
I started naming the pictures on Iphoto so I had a recognizable file name to open on Photoshop. Couldn't find it. I looked in the Backup folder and the Transfer software folder (I have a Nikon camera), and the names I entered in the Iphoto display, could not be found.
When I am trying to upload a photo to the web, I get the Finder folder showing with an active folder called "Photos" under "Media", which only displays Iphoto and PhotoBooth. This is a folder name that I cannot find in my HD anywhere when I look for it. If I edit a picture with Photoshop, I am not going to save it back to Iphoto (not sure whether it will work properly). How do I get my folder of edited photos to show when I want to upload a picture to the web?
Where (the name of the folder) do I find the pictures I see displayed on the Iphoto library, including any name changes, keywords added, and so on?

Installing oracle on Linux using the SAP version of oracle software

I am trying to install 32bit oracle software on Linux 32 bit os using the SAP version of Oracle Install Software downloaded from marketplace. I have downloaded the required exe and rar files and unpacked them on my PC. The unpacked folder is uploaded in bin mode to the respective server under a common mountpoint. In the folder i have 4 .SAR files with other label files etc. I want to unarchive these .SAR files to get the runInstaller but running in to issues.
Here are the steps I tried:
1. I copied the SAPCAR exe from exe directory and tried to unpack the 4 .SAR files but got permission error. All these 4 .SAR files are owned by ora<sid> user id. I tried to do all these under root user still it fails.

-bash: ./SAPCAR: cannot execute binary file
what am i missing?

If you have a 32bit OS then you need to use the 32bit binaries of SAPCAR - yes.
And:
Usually those SAR files are unpacked by the installation program sapinst, why do you unpack them manually?

Nothing personal to you or Rajshee, but this is exactly why I absolutely despise these "community forums" (not just Adobe but any company). I called the Tech Support phone line today after digging and digging for a phone number, and they told me the exact opposite, and they did it a lot faster than it was possible to get a forum response. (That's really not personal, because you can't control that, but it's a fact.)
Their answer: As long as I'm signed in with the same ID, I can try, say, Photoshop CC on my iMac at home and also try Acrobat Pro CC on my Windows 7 machine at work. Same account, same login, one trial.
This makes complete sense to me as I'm financially on the hook (potentially) for the same package. If I give away my login to someone else, which I wouldn't do, I'm still on the hook. This is why the cloud approach to software is such genius and I applaud it.
BTW, 99% of the "community forum" wrong answers come on Microsoft sites, so don't feel bad.
