I have the Dreaded 0000007B Stop message!!

I just bought a 865G Neo2 Motherboard with 512Meg RAM and a 2.8Gig P4 processor. I had it all put together and strapped at the dealer.
I added.
A Seagate 200Gig hard Drive
A A-Open 5232 CD Rom Drive
I have nothing else connected. I am trying to install XP. This is an "old" version of XP that I bought when XP first came out. After I get the files over on to the hard drive and XP tries to fire up on it to continue the installation, I get the Dreaded STOP 0000007B message.  I have been reading around on this forum and I found a thread about this on W2000 where the drive was over 120Gig and causing this. Is it possible this is my problem?? If so, what would be the workaround? (I hope "go out and get a 120" isnt the answer LOL but at this point I would go do it!!) I DID notice that it did not format to 200Gig. I am using the NTFS file system but I would use FAT32 if it would work. A working computer is good, I really dont care how I got there...
I took the drive and installed XP on it with my old P3 computer as an experiment and it booted up just fine (no stop message - kinda puts a dent in the large HD theory... Doesn't totally kill it, just dents it LOL) Any help would be VERY appreciated, I'm Getting Desperate!! If more info is needed, I will gladly provide it.

OK, I'm a Noob!! I apologize for not making my Sig with my specs but my original post was made while I was at work and did not have access to my computer setup.
BTW I am Darrel, But Darrel is almost always taken so I use my "Alternate" name.
Since I last posted I have been messing with this system. I am a persistent guy. One of my friends told me to check the RAM. I looked and sure enough it was installed.....In the wrong slot!!! I had specifically had the dealer install the RAM so i wouldn't have to deal with it. He had put it in DIMM4, the MB book is pretty clear a single stick goes in DIMM1. I moved it over and LO!! things got much better. I think...
The MB seems to run DOS just fine. You can boot it from the floppy or a cdrom.
I set my bios back to the factory defaults (because I had been seriuously screwing with them) and gave it another go. This time I got a different message. CONFIG_INITIALIZATION_FAILED 00000067 -  when it tried to transfer control from the install disk to the HD (during the XP install). I was able to get this message quite consistently. This was when i tried booting from the CD and installing XP. So the next thing I did was try using a W98SE boot disk and starting the install from W98 DOS (floppy) using the WINNT command under the I386 folder (on the XP disk). Interestingly, I got a different error message - PFN_LIST_CORRUPT 0000004E.
If I tried to install W98SE It would go along fine until it started the windows looking screens, then it would complain about an invalid or unknown true type font, copy a bunch of files, and crash with a GPF.
One time when i booted up I walked off and when I came back it had a screen that said Secondary Master Drive ATAPI Incompatible, press any key to restart (or something like that)
Before I moved the RAM  from DIMM4 to DIMM1, I did see a message about IRQ levels but i forget what exactly that one was. It may be no longer relevent since I moved the RAM.
The setup I have right now for this is a minimum system, I have as little as possible connected to it just so I can get it going.
I am really stumped here. Not sure where to go from here on this. Thanks for all your help, and again I apologize for wasting Danny's time    (Kudos to Danny for at least telling me I'm a Noob and what i did wrong LOL!!) If you need any more information let me know.

  • Where have the reload and stop loading buttons gone?

The reload button and the stop button do not appear on the toolbar in beta 7. I can reload a tab from the context menu for the tab, not as easy but it can be done. But I can see no way to stop a page load. So how?

Firefox 4.0 has a combined Reload and Stop button that appears at the far right of the location bar.
    * Open the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window to move them out of the location bar.
    * Swap the two buttons or move them to their previous position at the left of the location bar.
    * If the order is "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
    * Swap the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise to get two distinct buttons.

  • Does your iPod have the dreaded apple logo/sad face problem? Here's help!

Hi, I'm Stan, and I've found some useful tips in solving this problem.
This mini-guide is based on what I've found on my old clickwheel 20GB, B&W iPod (actually my bro's. My own video pod works great).
Description of what I call the, "apple logo/sad face" problem:
When I press any button, the apple logo appears, then after a few impatient seconds, the sad face appears, showing "www.apple.com/support/ipod/" at the bottom. Apparently, many ppl have this problem.
    iPod commands:
Hold down the following buttons for the following commands:
MENU + Select=Resets the iPod. This "exits" your iPod out of whatever mode, bringing up the apple logo, hopefully but most unlikely fixing your iPod.
    |<< + Select= the secret diagnostic mode. You'll see: apple logo, then backwards apple logo for a split second (backlight will light up), then you'll see "IRAMPASS. HITPLAY CONTINUE". NOTE: '|<<' is known as the 'reverse' button. aka the 'rewind' or 'previous' button. it's the left button of the iPod. I got confused by the word, 'reverse' b4.
    || + Select= Disk Mode. You'll see a √, should say "OK to disconnect" and you'll see the battery icon and your battery life remaining. NOTE: '>||' is known as the 'play/pause' button. it's the bottom button.
Now then, now that we have that cleared, you're still wondering why your pod ain't going into either disk mode or diagnostic mode. Here's probably why:
My old, clickwheel 20GB pod can infact reset, disk mode, and diagnostic mode. According to Apple, you must reset your pod, then hold down the two buttons for whichever mode you want. I did this, and had no luck. For all you stumped fellows, try skipping the first step. In other words, when your pod is off, hold down |<< and Select without resetting. Same goes for disk mode.
Here's what my pod does, and what your pod may or may not do:
-Takes a really long time to go into disk mode, yet it's still possible.
-when attempting to connect to computer while in disk mode, it shows the normal "do not disconnect" screen, then reverts to the sad face.
-the HDD SCAN and HDD R/W SCAN don't work in diagnostic mode (Maybe they actually do, but I ain't waiting any longer).
-I've concluded that if you hear the whrring sound (sounds like the hard drive disk is struggling to spin properly, very quiet, must put pod close to your ear to hear it), your pod is "stuck" and won't do anything.
This mini-guide isn't a solution, but merely all of Apple's feeble advice put into words that iPod noobs can understand. So next time you read something like "try putting your iPod into disk mode, connect it, and hope it shows up in Disk Utility.". you'll be saying "it's not showing up!!" instead of "the sad face won't let me put it into disk mode!!"
hope this helps. Let's all do what we can to stop this problem.
    peace

    See if these help.
iPod shows only an Apple logo and doesn't start up.
Only the Apple logo appears when turned on.

  • Is it possible to make sure the app runs all the time either in the foreground or background, User should not have the flexibility to stop it from running

    Hello all:
I have an enterprise app and i need to make sure it runs all the time.
If the app is not running i should silently make sure it restarts again.
Any ideas on how it can be done. It is an enterprise app
    Thanks

    Hmmm....
How about wrapping all of your dll calls in a single VI (or an Action Engine ) and make sure the VI's thread is NOT set for "Same as caller".
"Threadconfig.vi" (sp?) will also let you dictate the number of threads associated with an execution system. Set your target thread for "1".
    Not sure on the above.
Please correct me if this is wrong!

  • Now i have the dreaded whine noise on my macbook pro

harddrive us loud now i get the whine noise, and people said he issue was done for

Um, if the harddrive is whining it might be broken since the whine was caused by fan/power issues. I'd take it in to an apple store and have it looked at right away before the drive dies.

What iOS is on the iPod?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • How to stop message processing based on validation?

    Hello experts,
I have a requirement to stop message processing in the graphical mapping based on validation results. Here is the scenario - messages are translated using graphical mapping and sent to the target system. An RFC lookup will be done to ECC to determine if the data in the message is good. If the lookup returns a negative result, message processing should be stopped right there.
I guess we can throw an exception from the mapping to force a failure and stop further processing, but that will cause the message to show up as failed on SXMB_MONI and cause alert emails to be sent out in PROD. Another option will be to supress creation of the root node itself, but I think the message will then fail in the subsequent "call adapter" step if the target schema has a min occurence of 1 for the root node (as in the case of IDocs).
Is it possible to do it without using BPM?
    Thanks,
    Michelle

    Hi Michelle,
If your requirement, to stop message processing without sending an alert?
If yes, then you can have a alert rule, not to trigger alerts on a failure (And to raise an exception based on the result from RFC loookup).
If your requirement is not to make the message fail, then you have to go for the ccBPM route.
    Best Regards,

  • The dreaded whine & new replacement battery

I have one of the very early MBPs, one that was "supposed" to have the processor whine - only mine didn't. My hearing was even (rather rudely) questioned because many were convinced that ALL MacBook Pros of that vintage HAD to have the whine...
Well, my hearing is fine. I received a new battery from Apple as part of the MBP battery replacement program last week and ever since, when running on battery, I now have the dreaded whine!!
I find it mildly annoying. Frankly it's just another computer noise to me - I come from the old days when you couldn't tell much difference between your IBM-PC and a Hoover vacuum, sonically. But others have remarked that the battery exchange FIXED the whine, and I just wanted to post my opposite experience.
I'm planning on buying a glossy screen MBP with a Merom CPU as soon as they are available, another reason not to panic. But it IS irritating, I'll admit...

I've noticed a few problems ever since installing the new battery.
Step one for you, try resetting your PMU... sometimes it helps.
It's annoying, but at least now my battery doesn't cause my computer to shut off at 20% without warning.
Try the PMU reset... shut down, remove power cord, & Battery. Hold the POWER button for 10 seconds.
    Reverse the directions and restart.
    See if it helps
