I have the iPad 2 and for about two months now the home button only responds part time. It works occasionally and I have tried all of the tips on the discussion board.

My iPad 2 has a hoe button that is not responding constantly. It will either work right away or not respond for up to an hour. I have tried all of the suggestions posted on other questions and it's becoming ridiculous. I have a warranty but am afraid that if I get another iPad 2 the problem will continue on the new one.

If your iPad is defective and is still under warranty, you can take it to an Apple Authorized Repair Center and get it fixed. If you are worried about a defective replacement, then a repair may be a better way to go. <Apple Authorized Repair Centers>
Personally, I would prefer getting a replacement. You read about many defects here in this forum, but they only represent a tiny percentage of all iPads sold.

This is a major problem with Lollipop, but yo said it started 2 months ago. Several people have fixed problem by removing FaceBook And Face book messenger and then re loading the apps again. You might want to clear your cache before reloading. Not sure this is your problem, but worth a try. Good Luck

Basic troubleshooting steps oultlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
You need to go through all steps in succession until your problem is solved. If going through ALL these steps fails to resolve your issue, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

Ipods automatically have a one year warrany unless you have violated the terms. But you can pay to extend the warranty. It depends, they may fix it for free or they may charge a bit. Im not entirely sure. But id say theres a good chance that they may fix it for free. With battery replacements, ive heard that they give you an entirely new ipod with a charge of $80. So i think it depends

Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod. If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number). Cellular data is a feature from your phone carrier. Have you contacted them to resolve your issue.

I've tried a lot of the stuff mentioned at that link and elsewhere, modifying host files etc. trying to downgrade my iPhone 4 back to 5.1.1 no luck , apple has locked up 5.1.1 for my phone and iPad . one post said I'm "stuck with iOS 6" darn I should have been more careful. I have the 5.1.1 Ispw on my MacBook its a permissions thing I don't understand. This is a bad hardware error, Baseband Error. Some have reported getting through this error by Restoring iPhone with the SIM Card removed. Try that. Try restoring with different computer. Search Web some more for other thoughts.

Its really absurd to even ask this in light of the information that you have been given already. The "old fashioned" way is gone. It's Apple's store, Apples's rules and IMO - its a wise decision on Apple's part.
You do not have to comply at all, but you will not be able to purchase from iTunes anymore, but nobody is going to force you to do something that you do not want to do.
